Reconhecimento da parada cardiorrespiratória em adultos: nível de conhecimento dos enfermeiros de um pronto-socorro municipal da cidade de São Paulo / Recognition of cardiorespiratory arrest in adults: level nurse's knowledge in a municipal emergency medical service in São Paulo city
Introduction - This study examines the recognition of cardiorespiratory arrest (CRA) in adults, based on research conducted in a municipal hospital in Sao Paulo. It had intended to assess the level of knowledge of the nurses interviewed on the diagnosis of cardiorespiratory arrest in adults and causes more common. Materials and Methods - It is a search not experimental, exploratory, descriptive, with quantitative approach, and the primary data were collected through the application of a questionnaire. The search was attended by nurses, involving 11 professionals. The data were organized into two basic categories knowledge of a cardiorespiratory arrest and the ideal sequence in attending a cardiorespiratory arrest. Results - The results showed that the actions carried out by nurses in a cardiorespiratory arrest are still unsatisfactory, although recognizing the importance of the subject. Conclusion - It may be noted that it is necessary to encourage the revaluation and continuous training of nurses, and it comes mainly of care for CRA, as many among those interviewed in this study were not aware of new guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
