Introduction: The drinking habit is an important factor of metabolic imbalance among people with diabetes. However, individuals with higher levels of health literacy can perform behaviors that create barriers to the emergence of complications of this disease. Checking the health reading related to the drinking habit can be useful to reduce the consequences of diabetes. Objective: To identify the factors associated with health literacy related to the addiction among people with diabetes assisted by primary health care. Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted in health units in the city of Montes Claros, MG, Brazil. Demographic and economic conditions were analyzed, in addition to the levels of health literacy assessed from the instrument Alcohol Health Literacy. Results: The study included 215 people with diabetes with a mean age of 60.73 years, mostly women (63.7%; n=137). Lower levels of alcohol health literacy were present in 31.2% (n=67) of the participants. The following variables were associated with lower levels of health literacy: sex (men, OR 0.46; 95%CI 0.23-0.94; p=0.032), low schooling (early childhood education, OR 7.00; 95%CI 2.55-19.20; p<0.001; illiterate, OR 28.06; 95%CI 4.40-178.83); and spending on diabetes-related drugs (OR 2.27; 95%CI 1.14-4.50; p=0.019).

ABSTRACT Introduction. Scientific literacy comprises skills to explain phenomena scientifically, evaluate science and interpret its results. Validated tools in different languages are needed to ensure their correct measurement. Objective. To adapt and validate, to Peruvian Spanish, an instrument to measure scientific literacy skills in medical students. Methods. The cultural adaptation of the Test of Scientific Literacy Skills (TOSLS) into Spanish had six steps. First, an independent, simultaneous translation from English into Spanish was performed. Then, both translations were synthesised and back-translated, followed by comparison with the original version and back-translation. This was followed by a pilot test and a cross-sectional study with medical students in Lima, Peru. The last step involved psychometric evaluation using the Rasch model. The instrument consisted of 28 multiple-choice questions with only one correct answer. Results. 300 students were enrolled. The Kuder-Richadson coefficient was 0.742. The items showed unidimensionality and local independence (MADaQ3 = 0.054). Item 12 was the most difficult, while item 5 was the easiest. The infit and outfit statistics of the items were in the range of 0.7 to 1.3 logits. The test information function provided information with greater precision at skill levels between -1 and 0 logits. There was a correspondence between item difficulty and scientific literacy ability. Conclusion. The Spanish version retained the 28 items of the original TOSLS and had acceptable internal consistency. The items had acceptable properties, independently of students' scientific literacy ability.

【Objective】 To clarify the concept of health literacy among children and adolescents with accidental injuries through literature review and analysis. 【Methods】 A systematic search was conducted across multiple databases, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang database, VIP database, China Biomedical literature database, PubMed, CINAHL, and PscyINFO database. The literature was analyzed using Rodgers′ evolutionary concept analysis method. 【Results】 A total of 56 articles were included. The health literacy of children and adolescents with accidental injuries comprised three conceptual attributes:cognition, emotion and behavior. The influencing factors included children′s demographic factors, family and school related factors and social related factors. The result can be beneficial to reduce the occurrence of injury events, save family economic expenditure and alleviate the burden on social medical resources. However, there is currently a lack of specific measurement tools for assessing health literacy in this population, as the existing evaluation items are drawn from general health literacy scales. 【Conclusions】 The concept of health literacy among children and adolescents with accidental injuries is multifaceted and evolving. Future research should focus on exploring the characteristics of health literacy among children and adolescents of different ages and regions from their own perspectives. Additionally, efforts should be made to refine the concept and develop specialized measurement tools to facilitate further studies in this area.

ObjectiveFocusing on digital health literacy, this study elucidated the current research status, focal points, and developmental trends in this field over the past decade through bibliometric analysis and knowledge mapping of relevant papers. MethodsUtilizing software such as CiteSpace and VOSviewer, this study analyzed literature on digital health literacy from 2012 to 2022 retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) database, employing bibliometric approaches such as keyword co-occurrence, timeline clustering, keyword burst detection, and author collaboration networks. ResultsThe research generally exhibited a continuing upward trend in publication volume; application fields were concentrated in disciplines such as mathematics and medicine; keywords include healthcare, intervention measures, health management, and technological applications. Research in digital health literacy (DHL) has evolved from an early focus on mobile health and behavior change to mid-term focus on health information and internet technology, and more recently to a greater focus on mental health and information technology applications, as well as the application of digital health and mobile technology in health behaviors, reflecting the field’s continuous development towards diversification. ConclusionResearch on digital health literacy is steadily growing and has received widespread recognition and attention from the academic community. With the development of mobile technologies and data science, the field of DHL is expected to make more in-depth research and application breakthroughs in education, scientific research, healthcare, public health, and social welfare.

ObjectiveTo analyze the current occupational health literacy (OHL) level and its influencing factors among drivers in transportation industry. Methods A total of 880 drivers of taxi companies, passenger transport companies, freight companies and online booking companies were selected as the research subjects using the judgment sampling method. The Occupational Health Literacy Questionnaire of National Key Populations was used to conduct a survey on their OHL levels via online questionnaires, and the influencing factors of OHL were analyzed. Results The OHL level of the research subjects was 54.32% (478/880). The OHL levels in the dimensions of occupational health legal knowledge, basic knowledge of occupational health protection, basic skills of occupational health protection, healthy working style and behavior were 55.34%, 79.55%, 58.30% and 46.25%, respectively. The results of the multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the OHL levels of drivers in passenger transport and freight companies were higher than that in taxi companies (all P<0.01). The OHL levels of drivers in private enterprises, foreign-funded enterprises, and other enterprises were lower than those in state-owned enterprises (all P<0.05). The OHL levels of drivers in large enterprises were lower than that of drivers in micro-enterprises (P<0.05). The OHL levels of drivers worked >5-10 years and >10 years were lower than that of drivers working 1-5 years (all P<0.05). Conclusion There is a considerable room for improvement in the OHL levels of drivers in the transportation industry. The category, economic type, and scale of the employing unit and driving work year of the current position are the main influencing factors of OHL levels.
