This paper summarized professor LIU Ruifen's clinical experience in treating endometrial hyperplasia. It is believed that the core pathogenesis of endometrial hyperplasia is internal obstruction of uterus and intrauterine collaterals by latent stasis. Based on the clinical manifestations, the menstrual cycle is divided into three stages, that is menstrual period, menstrual leakage period, and clear menstrual period, and the method of “three-staged stasis dispelling” is proposed. During the menstrual period, it is appropriate to move qi and invigorate blood, dissolve stasis and disperse concretions, with self-made Gongqing Formula (宫清方). For menstrual leakage period, it is suggested to boost qi and clear heat, dispel stasis and stanch bleeding, with self-made Tongyong Zhixue Formula (通用止血方). In terms of clear menstrual period, the method of dissolving phlegm and dissipating masses, moving qi and dispelling stasis is advised, and self-made Zhitong Tiaoxue Formula (止痛调血方) can be used. Simultaneously, attention should be paid to the combination of syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation, as well as collaborative diagnosis and treatment with traditional Chinese and Western medicine.

To summarize Professor AI Rudi's experience in the staged external treatment of eczema by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is believed that dampness is the key pathological factor of eczema, and the treatment for dampness should be carried out throughout the whole process, with the leading idea of “three-stage treatment, dampness as the root, and treatment according to the symptoms”. The preparation and formulas of the external treatment can be applied according to the pathogenesis and lesion characteristics of each stage. In acute stage with wind-dampness and heat in the skin as the main mechanism, the treatment is to clear heat and astringe, resolve toxins and relieve itching, and the preparation is mostly solution and lotion, and the formula could be Yangzheng Xi Formula (痒症洗方), Jingfang Kushen Decoction (荆防苦参汤), Kuding Erhuang Decoction (苦丁二黄汤), and Xianglian Jinhuang Powder (香连金黄散). In subacute stage with phlegm-dampness and heat as the main mechanism, the treatment is to remove dampness and turbidity, clean up the residual heat; the preparation is mostly ointment, and the formula include Shehuang Ointment (蛇黄软膏), Huanglian Ointment (黄连膏), and Zihuan Diding Ointment (紫花地丁软膏). In chronic stage with phlegm-dampness stagnation as the main mechanism, the treatment is to remove dampness and eliminate phlegm, remove blood stasis and stop itching, and the formula could be Zhiyang soft Ointment (止痒软膏), Runji Ointment (润肌膏), Yufu Ointment (愈肤膏); jojoba oil and olive oil are often used as external moisturiser for daily care.

This paper summarized Professor ZHANG Junping's clinical experience in treating coronary heart disease (CHD) combined with hypothyroidism. It is believed that yang deficiency was the root cause of CHD complicated with hypothyroidism, and also the key pathogenesis throughout its development. Accordingly, combined with the different focuses on the lesions in the blood, pulse, heart and spirit, Professor ZHANG took warming yang as the basic rule and summarized the four methods of warming yang for syndrome differentiation and treatment. When spleen-kidney yang deficiency, disturbance of qi transformation, dysfunction of blood transportation as the pathological basis of CHD combined with hypothyroidism, the self-prescribed Butian Formula (补天方) could be used for warming yang and benefiting the kidney, thereby regulating Qi and blood; when the cold and dampness blocked the blood vessels, and turbidity-toxin generated gradually, resulting in heart vessel obstruction, the self-prescribed Huazhuo Changmai Decoction (化浊畅脉汤) could be used to warm yang and dissolve the turbidity so that to unblock the heart vessels; when the structure and function of the heart fail, edema due to yang deficiency with pericardial fluid retention, the self-prescribed Yuxin Baomai Formula (育心保脉方) could be used to warm yang and excret water, and protect the heart; when yang deficiency led to emotional and mental stagnation, and the heart impairment aggravated emotional and mental disorders, which resulted in emotional and mental abnormalities, the self-prescribed Jieyu Anshen Decoction (解郁安神汤) could be used to relieve emotional and mental stagnation, and calm mind.

The paper summarizes the academic thought and clinical experience of professor LI De-hua in treatment of facial nerve injury after total parotidectomy with blade needle based on jingjin (muscle region of meridian, sinew/fascia) theory. This disease is located at muscle regions of hand-/foot-three yang meridians; and the sinew/fascia adhesion is its basic pathogenesis, manifested by "transversely-distributed collaterals" and "knotted tendons". In treatment, the knotted tendons are taken as the points. Using the relaxation technique of blade needle, the lesions of sinews/fascia are dissected and removed to release the stimulation or compression to the nerves and vessels so that the normal function of sinews/fascia can be restored.

The paper introduces professor GAO Shu-zhong's understanding on "seeking yin from yang needling method" and its clinical application on the basis of "qi street" and "four seas" theories. Through professor GAO's clinical practice for years, he integrates and extendes the theories of "seeking yin from yang", "qi street" and "four seas" in Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic). In this specific acupuncture method, in reference with the theories of "qi street" and "four seas", acupuncture is exerted on yang part of body, e.g. the back and lumber region to treat the diseases of yin parts, e.g. the chest and abdomen, which is differentiated as yin-yang imbalance in pathogenesis. In order to fully explain the clinical curative effect of "seeking yin from yang needling method", the common diseases in clinic, e.g. the disorders of heart, spleen and stomach systems, as well as the gynecology are taken as examples in the paper.
