الملخص

Teaching is a highly noble profession and teachers are always a boon to the society. The ultimate process of education could be simpli?ed as a meaningful interaction between the teacher and the taught. The teacher thus plays a direct and crucial role in moulding a pupil towards education. Since a teacher is a role model for the students, job satisfaction and professional commitment of teachers become very vital in the ?elds of education. Thus, the researcher felt the need to investigate the job satisfaction in relation to professional commitment of secondary school teachers. An attempt was made in the present investigation is Job Satisfaction Among Secondary School Teachers. To Aim: Objective: study the differences between gender (male & female) and management (government & private) on Job Satisfaction among secondary school teachers. Sample of the present study consists of 400 teachers in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy Sample: districts of Telangana State. Job Satisfaction scale developed by Meera Dixit (1993) was used. Results Tool: Conclusion: revealed signi?cant differences between gender (male & female) and management (government & private) with regard to Job Satisfaction.

Oxygen is an essential constituent for plants and animals. Before birth the foetus receives oxygen from placenta. Dysfunction of heart is one of the leading causes of death among people residing in developed countries. For most of the patients with cardiac arrest, advanced emergency care support is not available in developing countries; whereas, in developed countries, professionals will arrive immediate at the place within 10 min. The objective of the study was to evaluate the existing knowledge and skills related to CPR in secondary school teachers. We also investigated the effectiveness of simulation-based teaching on CPR among secondary school children. MethodsWe performed one group pre- and post-test study on selected secondary school teachers with a samples size of 60 and used 20-item questionnaire with skill checklist. ResultsThe mean value of pre-test and post-test results among secondary school teachers’ in level of knowledge was 6.05 and 10.33, standard deviation was 2.79 and 1.38, The mean difference values were 4.28 ± 3.1. The mean value of pre-test and post-test of secondary school teacher in the level of practices was 2.85 and 3.91, standard deviation was 0.54 and 0.90, The mean difference was 1.06 ± 1.08. ConclusionsSimulation teaching of CPR in secondary school teachers was effective.

A voz é uma ferramenta de trabalho do professor, refletindo suas condições de saúde e emoções. Este estudo objetiva compreender a percepção de professoras sobre o entrelaçamento de voz e emoções. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo realizado a partir de grupos focais com 26 professoras do ensino fundamental. Utilizou-se a fenomenologia da percepção de Merleau-Ponty para análise dos dados, conduzindo- se pela noção de corpo e de entrelaçamento homem e mundo. As categorias identificadas foram: "desdobramentos do trabalho na voz, no corpo e nas emoções" e "emoções no corpo expressos pela voz". As discussões mostram a não separabilidade corpo e mente e a percepção da voz como um modo de vivenciar o corpo e as emoções. A noção de corpo próprio, complexo e sistémico extrapola o entendimento de corpo orgânico-biológico e contribui com a ampliação dos debates sobre a saúde vocal do professor.(AU)


La voz es una herramienta de trabajo del profesor, reflejando sus condiciones de salud y emociones. El objetivo de este estudio es comprender la percepción de las profesoras sobre el entrelazado de la voz y las emociones. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo realizado a partir de grupos focales con 26 profesoras de la Enseñanza Fundamental. Se utilizó la fenomenología de la percepción de Merleau-Ponty para análisis de los datos, conduciéndose por la noción de cuerpo y de entrelazado hombre y mundo. Las categorías identificadas fueron: "desdoblamientos del trabajo en la voz, en el cuerpo y en las emociones" y "emociones en el cuerpo expresadas por la voz". Las discusiones muestran la inseparabilidad cuerpo y mente y la percepción de la voz como un modo de vivir el cuerpo y las emociones. La noción de cuerpo propio, complejo, sistémico, extrapola el entendimiento del cuerpo orgánico-biológico y contribuye a la ampliación de los debates sobre la salud vocal del profesor.(AU)


Voice is an essential tool of the work of teachers, reflecting their health and emotional conditions. The aim of this study was to understand the perception of teachers about how voice and emotion are interwoven. This was a qualitative study using focus groups with 26 elementary school teachers. Data analysis was based on the phenomenology of perception proposed by Merleau-Ponty, guided by his notion of the body and the interweaving of man and world. The resulting categories were: "consequences of the job on the voice, the body and emotions" and "emotions in the body expressed through the voice". Discussions showed the indissociability of the mind and body and the perception of the voice as a way of experiencing the body and emotions. The notion of the "own body", which is complex and systemic, surpasses the organic-biological understanding of the body and helps expand debate about the vocal health of teachers.(AU)

Introduction: Comprehensive tobacco-free school policy benefits everyone by reducing exposure to second-hand smoking and creating a system that reinforces tobacco-free norm and attitudes, which in turn affect tobacco use having an impact on the health of the community. Objective: This study aims to assess the perception of teachers on tobacco free school environments and factors supporting it. Methods: A two-stage cluster sampling technique was used for the selection of schools with selection probability proportional to enrolment size followed by stratified random sampling of government and private schools. Data were collected from 559 secondary school teachers using a structured questionnaire. Results: Estimation indicated that 48.3% (95% CI: 44.5%, 52.6%) of the teachers were less supportive and 51.7% (95% CI: 47.4%, 55.5%) were more supportive for smoking free school. Logistic regression analysis revealed that non tobacco user teachers were more likely to be supportive (OR=1. 891, 95% CI: 1.197, 2.986) for tobacco free school. However, no statistically significant association was found between perceived supportive tobacco free school and age, sex, level of education, type of school and family size (p>0.05). Exposure to second hand smoking and curriculum content of tobacco issues were not significantly related with tobacco free school. Conclusion: Comprehensive school based programme with participation of school personnel and community can effectively implement tobacco free school programmes.

Objective:To discuss the situation and differences of primary and secondary school teachers'job characteristics between mainland China and Hong Kong in order to provide the basis for improvement of job charac-teristics.Methods:A total of 504 teachers (242 in mainland China and 262 in Hong Kong)were chosen to com-plete the Job Characteristics Scale of Primary and Secondary School Teachers (including job demands sub-question-naire of six factors and job resources sub-questionnaire of six factors).Results:Teachers'job demands and job re-sources scores in both two areas were higher than the median 3.The scores of workload,emotional demands, student's misbehavior,role stress,and hard ware conditions,autonomy,work reward of Hong Kong teachers were higher than mainland China teachers(Ps <0.05),while the coworker support score was opposite.In addition,there were gender difference in workload and occupation moral requirements in Mainland China (Ps <0.05),as well as work age difference in workload,occupation moral requirements,organizational support,coworker support,hardware conditions and work reward,while school stage difference in organizational support,hardware conditions and work reward in Hong Kong (Ps <0.05).Conclusion:It suggests that teachers'job characteristics are both high demands-high resourcestype in the two areas,but the highdegree and the demographic characteristics are different.

The aim of the present study is to develop a tool to measure the Professional Commitment towards Teaching. So the researcher with the assistance of his guide prepared a questionnaire to measure the Professional Commitment towards Teaching. The tool is constructed in aiming the professional commitment of teachers who work for the Higher Secondary Schools in Salem and Krishnagiri Districts in Tamil Nadu respectively. Since the psychological aspect of any profession is commitment towards profession. Now days teaching profession become more conversed amongst the learned crowd and professionals in the same. Hence the researcher aimed in constructing a tool to measure the Professional Commitment towards Teaching.

الملخص

Objective:To investigate the relationship between primary and secondary school teachers' occupational burnout and mental health.Methods: Maslach questionaiers about occupational burnout and mental (MBI) and SCL-90 were administrated to 528 primary and secondary school teachers. Results: (1) Correlation analysis showed significantly positive correlation between primary and secondary school teachers' occupational burnout and mental health. Emotional Exhaustion related highest to somatization, compulsion, interpersonal relation, depression, anxiety, hostility, and paranoid. (2) Stepwise regression analysis revealed that the three dimensions of professional burnout predict significantly mental health, Emotional Exhaustion accounted most for the variance.Conclusion:Teachers occupational burnout is correlated with mental health. Different occupational burnout dimensions can all predict mental health.
