ABSTRACT

Objective:To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of cyberbullying inventory for college students(CICS-CV)in the context of Chinese culture and make preliminary application. Methods:A total of 1 528 college students completed the CICS-CV, and 208 students completed CICS-CV after six months.Trait anger subscale of state-trait anger expression inventory-2, and Buss-Perry aggressive qusetionnaire were used as the criterion of cyberbullying aggression, and depression anxiety stress scales were used as the criterion for cyberbullying victimization to test its validity. Item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability test, calibration validity test and corss-lag analysis were conducted by SPSS 24.0 software, and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted by Mplus 8.3.Results:The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that two factors were obtained named as cyberbullying aggression and cyberbullying victimization, and the factor loadings were 0.59-0.82, 0.59-0.80.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the fitting index of the double factor model was fitting well ( χ2/ df=2.61, CFI=0.90, TLI=0.89, RMSEA=0.04, SRMR=0.05). The internal consistency coefficient of the two subscales were 0.88, 0.89, and test-retest reliability were both 0.97. There was a significant positive correlation between cyberbullying aggression(victimization) and the criterions( r=0.23-0.42, all P<0.05). Cross-lag analysis of moral disengagement and cyberbullying aggression showed that the first measurement of moral disengagement significantly predicted the second measurement of cyberbullying aggression( β=0.16, t=2.16, P<0.05). Conclusion:The CICS-CV has good reliability and validity, which can be used as an effective tool for evaluating college students' cyberbullying in China.

ABSTRACT

Acne inversa is a chronic inflammatory follicular disease with autosomal dominant inheritance. In recent years, many functional mutations in the NCSTN genes have been identified as the cause of familial acne inversa. Herein, we recruited four patients and seven unaffected individuals from a Chinese family and performed Sanger sequencing of the NCSTN gene. One novel frameshift mutation, c.450_459del (p.Ser 151GlnfsX48), was identified in exon 5 of the NCSTN gene. Three normal-looking children carrying the mutation were proven to be patients. We also presented a literature review from previous studies of acne inversa, suggesting that NCSTN is a hotspot gene for acne inversa. Most affected individuals experienced onset in adolescence. We confirmed the diagnosis in this family based on the mutation. This finding will help expound the relationship between the NCSTN gene and the pathogenesis of acne inversa and emphasize the value of genetic diagnosis in monogenic disorder.

ABSTRACT

Anticipatory nausea and vomiting (ANV) is one of the common adverse effects in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.ANV is related to classical conditioning, psychosocial and demographic factors.Psychological intervention such as systematic desensitization, hypnosis and biofeedback therapy could be used to treat ANV,while some psychotropic medication including benzodiazepines and olanzapine is also helpful to prevent ANV.Now the recognition about ANV in clinical oncology is not adequate and large sample epidemiological survey of ANV is lacked. So far there are no special tools to predict and assess ANV,and the effects of pharmacological interventions also need solid evidence from large sample double-blind randomized controlled trials.

ABSTRACT

To determine the outcome of patients with luminal A, luminal B, human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 [HER-2] positive, and triple negative molecular subtypes of inflammatory breast cancer [IBC] using a retrospective analysis. This study was conducted between February 2004 and February 2010 in 3 different hospitals in China. The clinical outcomes, pathological features, and treatment strategies were analyzed in 67 cases of IBC without distant metastases. A chi-square test and one-way ANOVA were used to assess outcomes between different subtypes. Overall survival [OS] was analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method and multivariate analysis was conducted using the Cox regression model. The 2-year OS rate was 55% for the entire cohort. Median OS time among patients with luminal A was 35 months, luminal B was 30 months, HER-2 positive was 24 months, and triple negative subtypes was 20 months, and were significantly different from each other [p=0.001]. Using multivariate analysis, luminal A had 76% [p=0.037], luminal B had 54% [p=0.048], and HER-2 positive subtypes had 47% [p=0.032] decreased risk of death compared with the triple negative subtype. Furthermore, elevated Ki-67 labeling was associated with increased risk of death, while the surgical treatment significantly improved patient survival. Breast cancer subtypes are associated with distinct outcomes in IBC patients. Patients that presented with triple negative IBC had poorer outcome than luminal A, luminal B, and HER-2 subtypes. These results indicate that IBC is a heterogeneous disease similar to the conventional breast cancer

ABSTRACT

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is an unique complication in pregnancy, which usually manifests in the second or third trimester, and mainly harms the fetus. Its pathogenesis is not yet clear, and placental pathological changes are insufficient to explain the clinical phenomenon.Recent studies had shown that the important cause of perinatal deaths may be the damage to the placental structure and function caused by the high bile acid level. In addition, the change of placental structure and function, umbilical cord factors, and endocrine changes can also cause the fetal development and intrauterine hypoxia. In recent years related researches focus on the toxic effect of bile acid on fetus heart, lungs, brain, liver, and other important organs, the placental vascular pathology, hemodynamic changes, umbilical cord blood vessel factors and the endocrine changes.

ABSTRACT

In view of gemcitabine resistance has limited clinical activity of gemcitabine as a cellulotoxic drug in pancreatic cancer patients, this study is designed to investigate the effect of emodin on the sensitivity of pancreatic cancer to gemcitabine as well as its mechanism. After gemcitabine-resistant pancreatic cancer cell line (SW1990/GZ) was established by escalating doses of gemcitabine serially in pancreatic cancer cell line (SW1990). The cellular proliferation was detected by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. Flow cytometry (FCM) was used to determine apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cells. The activity of NF-kappaB in pancreatic cancer cells was measured by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA). Western blotting was used to detect the protein expression of Bcl-2 and Survivin in SW1990/GZ cells. Metastatic model simulating human pancreatic cancer was established by orthotopic implantation of histologically intact human tumor tissue into pancreatic wall of nude mice. Also, immunohistochemistry was used to detect the positive expression of Ki-67, NF-kappaB, Bcl-2 and Survivin in the tumors. The results show that pretreatment of cells with emodin followed by gemcitabine induced a higher percentage of growth inhibition and apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cells than that of gemcitabine alone. In addition to in vitro results, emodin in combination with gemcitabine is much more effective as an antitumor agent compared to either agent alone in the orthotopic tumor model. Further study showed that the emodin with or without gemcitabine significantly down-regulates NF-kappaB and its regulated molecules such as Bcl-2 and Survivin proteins both in vitro and in vivo. It is concluded that inactivation of NF-kappaB signaling pathway by emodin resulting in the chemosensitization of pancreatic cancer to gemcitabine, which is likely to be an important and novel strategy for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
