RESUMEN

【Objective】 To evaluate the safety and efficacy of modified ultrasound-guided needle-like visible nephroscope (Needle perc) holmium laser lithotripsy in the treatment of 1-2 cm calyceal calculi, and provide a reference for the selection of clinical treatment methods. 【Methods】 The clinical data of 60 patients with single intrarenal calyceal calculi (the largest diameter 1~2 cm) treated in our hospital during Jan.2022 and May 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy group (flexible ureteroscope group) and Needle perc group, with 30 patients in either group. The clinical data of the two groups were compared. 【Results】 Compared with the flexible ureteroscope group, the Needle perc group had shorter overall hospitalization time [(3.00±1.25) d vs. (4.00±1.25) d], shorter operation time [(44.63±5.42) min vs. (48.50±7.24) min], lower hospitalization expenses [(15 518±441) yuan vs. (16 872±903) yuan], higher stone-clearance rate [93.3% (28/30) vs. 50.7% (15/30), P<0.001], less increase of procalcitonin after operation [(0.02±0.01) vs. (0.12±0.18), P=0.007], and lower incidence of complications [3.3% (1/30) vs. 26.7% (8/30), P=0.030]. 【Conclusion】 The modified ultrasound-guided Needle perc holmium laser lithotripsy is safe and effective in the treatment of 1-2 cm lower calyceal calculi, with high stone removal rate and low complication rate.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo explore the possible roles of polymorphisms of SPO11 and glutathionine S-transferase (GST) genes in idiopathic male infertility in a ethnic Han Chinese population from Henan.

METHODSMultiplex PCR and DNA sequencing were performed to determine the SPO11 c.517C>T(rs28368082) and GST genes (GSTM1, GSTT1, GSTP1) polymorphisms in 216 idiopathic male infertility cases and 198 normal samples.

RESULTSThe frequencies of the SPO11 CC and CT genotypes were 87.5% (189/216) and 12.5% (27/216) in the patients, and 97.5% (193/198) and 2.5% (5/198) in the controls, respectively. The frequencies of SPO11 CC and CT genotypes, the A>G transition at nucleotide 313 in the exon 5 of the GSTP1 gene, and the frequencies of combined genotypes GSTM1 (-/-), GSTT1 (+/+), GSTP1 (AA) and SPO11 (CT) were significantly different between the two groups (P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe rs28368082 polymorphism of the SPO11 gene, the A>G transition at nucleotide 313 in the exon 5 of the GSTP1 gene, and the combined genotypes of GSTM1 (-/-), GSTT1 (+/+), GSTP1 (AA) and SPO11 (CT) may be associated with idiopathic male infertility in ethnic Han Chinese.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the surgical effects and methods of bipolar plasmakinetic enucleation and resection of prostate for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods A total of 120 patients with BPH were performed bipolar plasmakinetic resection of prostate and bipolar plasmakinetic enucleation of prostate for BPH. The blood loss, operative time, catheterization time, hospital stay and complications were monitored and analyzed. Results All of the patients were operated successfully. All the cases were followed up for 3-6 months. No urethral stricture, bladder neck contracture, rebleeding, permanent urinary incontinence occurred. The maximum flow rate increased from (6.1 ± 2.5) ml/s peroperative to (16.3 ± 2.2) ml/s at 3 months postoperative, and international prostate symptoms score (IPSS) decreased from (23.8 ± 5.2) scores peroperative to (4.6 ± 3.9) scores (P < 0.01). Conclusion Bipolar plasmakinetic enucleation and resection of prostate for BPH has many advantages such as thorough excision of the prostate, less blood loss in operation, less operation time and complications, higher security and quicker recovery, so it deserves clinical application.
