OBJECTIVE: To isolate and identify the secondary metabolites of Cordyceps cardinalis for providing reference for the further exploration of the active substance of C. cardinalis and the natural product library of Cordyceps. METHODS: The compounds from C. cardinalis fermentation broth were isolated by silica gel column chromatography, C18 reverse phase silica gel chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatography, TLC and so on. The structures of isolated compound were identified by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and MS spectra. RESULTS: Six compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of C. cardinalis fermentation broth as 5-methyl-1, 3-benzenediol (compound 1), 4-hydroxy-17R-methylincisterol (compound 2), 5α, 8 α-epidioxy-(22E,24R)-ergosta-6,22-dien-3β-ol (compound 3),3β,5α,6β-trihydroxy-(22E,24R)-ergosta-7,22-dien (compound 4), uridine (compound 5), oosporein (compound 6). CONCLUSIONS: Six compounds are isolated from C. cardinalis strain, among which compound 1 and compound 2 are isolated from the genus Cordyceps for the first time.

Based on the platform of PowerBuilder and SQL Server and using scientific management process as the standard, the informa-tized system was developed to cover all aspects of ECG monitor quality control. This informatized system, which closely accorded with related laws and regulations, had graded authority, clear responsibilities, multi functions and easy operation. Computer information technology plays an important role in scientific management system of ECG monitor quality control.

A stable dark variant separated from photobacterium phosphoreum (A2) was fixed in agar-gel membrane and immobilized onto an exposed end of a fiber-optic linked with bioluminometer. The variant could emit a luminescent signal in the presence of genotoxic agents, such as Mitomycin C (MC). The performance of this whole-cell optical fiber sensor system was examined as a function of several parameters, including gel probe thickness, bacterial cell density, and diameter of the fiber-optic core and working temperature. An optimal response to a model genotoxicant, Mitomycin C, was achieved with agar-bacterial gel membrane: the thickness of gel membrane was about 5 mm; the cell density of bacteria in gel membrane was about 2.0 x 10(7)/ml; the diameter of fiber-optic core was 5.0 mm; the working temperature was 25 degrees C. Under these optimized conditions, the response time was less than 10 h to Mitomycin C, with a lower detection threshold of 0.1 mg/L.
