RESUMO
Liver injury induced by sepsis is one manifestation of sepsis-induced multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, which often indicates the severity of illness with poor prognosis. In recent years, more and more studies have shown that liver microcirculatory dysfunction, energy metabolism dysfunction, oxidative stress, inflammatory response, apoptosis or necrosis of hepatocyte and other mechanisms play an extremely important role in the development of sepsis - induced liver injury. Fully understand the mechanism of occurrence and development of sepsis - induced liver injury, which will help to prevent and control better, and reduce the incidence and mortality effectively. Therefore, this article reviews the current research progress about the pathogenesis and treatment measures of sepsis - induced liver injury.
RESUMO
Purpose To investigate the clinicopathological features, the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of spindle cell lipoma/pleomorphic lipoma (SCL/PL). Methods Eight cases of SCL/PL were studied by HE staining and immunohistochemistry. The literature was reviewed. Results Microscopically, the neoplasm consisted of spindle cells, mature adipocytes and thick rope-like collagen bundles in variable proportions with mucinous degeneration. The floret-like multinucleated giant cells were easy to be seen in the pleomorphic lipoma. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that the tumor cells were positive for CD34 and vimentin. The Ki-67 was approximately 2%. The patients were followed up for 3 ~ 74 months, and no recurrence or metastasis occurred. Conclusion The SCL/PL is a special subtype of benign lipoma, surgery is considered the first choice, and outcome is favorable. The diagnosis and differential diagnosis of SCL/PL are important.
RESUMO
AlM:To evaluate the efficacy of combined pranoprofen eye drops and artificial tears on the treatment of mild to moderate dry eye syndrome after trabbeculectomy.METHODS:This prospective case control study included 63 cases (63 eyes) of patients with mild to moderate dry eye syndrome after trabbeculectomy in our hospital from November 2013 to June 2013. All subjects were randomly divided into two groups. Observation group was treated with combined pranoprofen eye drops and artificial tears and control group received simple artificial tears marking the eyes at 1, 2, 4wk. The patient's symptoms, signs, BUT, S▏t, and FL were observed before treatment and 1, 2, 4wk after treatment.RESULTS: After 2wk, the symptoms of observation group were improved, there was statistically significant difference (P<0. 05). FL difference of each group was statistically significant ( P<0. 05 ); After 4wk, symptoms and signs were improved. There was statistically significant difference ( P < 0. 05 ). The BUT of the observation group and corneal FL scores of two groups showed significant differences (P<0. 05). CONCLUSlON: Artificial tears joint pranoprofen eye drops has good curative effect in the treatment of mild to moderate dry eye syndrome after trabbeculectomy.
RESUMO

BACKGROUNDDynesys dynamic stabilization system was first implanted in patients in 1994, and introduced to China in 2007. Therefore, it was a new technique for Chinese orthopedics and hence necessary to collect clinical data about Dynesys in China. The objective of this study was to report the preliminary results of Dynesys for the lumbar degenerative disease in China.

METHODSTwenty-seven patients were treated with the Dynesys between July 2007 and January 2009. The diagnosis included degenerative spondylolisthesis (12 cases), degenerative spinal stenosis (nine cases), and lumbar intervertebral disc herniation (six cases). Back pain and leg pain were evaluated using 100-mm visual analog scales (VAS). The Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) was used to evaluate the patients' function. The intervertebral disc height and range of motion at the operative level were taken on radiographs.

RESULTSAll the patients were followed-up, with an average of (22.40 ± 4.23) months (range 15-32 months). VAS of back pain and leg pain were improved significantly (P < 0.05) at follow-up. The ODI scores were reduced from (62.58 ± 12.01)% preoperatively to (15.01 ± 5.71)% at follow-up (P < 0.05). The preoperative mean height of the intervertebral disc was (11.21 ± 1.58) mm (range 8.5-13.8 mm) and mean was (10.10 ± 1.78) mm (range 7.0-13.4 mm) at follow-up (P < 0.05). The mean range of motion of the implanted segment was (6.00 ± 1.79)° (range 2.5-9.3°) preoperatively and (5.47 ± 1.27)° (range 2.9-7.8°) at follow-up (P = 0.11).

CONCLUSIONSThe preliminary results of Dynesys for the lumbar degenerative disease in China are similar to the published results of other countries. It can significantly improve the clinic symptoms and preserved motion at the level of implantation. However, the long-term follow-up data need to be collected.

OBJECTIVEThe aim of this study was to find an accurate and feasible measurement technique for the inner ear structures using computed tomography and to check the inter-observer agreement

METHODSSixty patients without abnormal structure of temporal bones confirmed by means of high-resolution computed tomography were included in this study. The multi-planar reformations (MPR) were performed to show the maximum profile of cochlear, and to measure the height and width of cochlear. Areas of bony island encircled by three semicircular canals were measured on the MPR images that could show the whole canal. The data measured by two readers independently was compared to check the inter-observer agreement.

RESULTSThe application of MPR yielded satisfactory anatomic presentation of inner ear for radiologic measurements. There was good inter-observer agreement revealed by the paired t-test and correlation analysis (P>0.05, r>0.9). The height of cochlear (x+/-s) was (4.26+/-0.28) mm while the width of cochlear was (7.03+/-0.39) mm. The areas of bony islands encircled by the anterior, posterior and lateral semicircular canals were (25.49+/-3.84) mm2, (20.07+/-2.93) mm2 and (11.50+/-1.94) mm2, respectively.

CONCLUSIONSMPR can display structures of cochlear and semicircular canals on planes along their central axis. Normative measurements on these MPR images derive excellent repeatability and provide reliable morphologic parameters of inner ear structures.
