RESUMO

Objective@#To examine the association between sexual orientation and high risk sexual behaviors and its sex differences among college students, so as to provide a theoretical basis for intervention and controlling of high risk sexual behaviors of the college students.@*Methods@#From November 2020 to May 2021, 1 920 college students among four universities in Hubei Province were recruited by multi stage stratified random cluster sampling, and their sexual orientation and the frequency of high risk sexual behaviors were investigated by a self designed questionnaire. And then analyzed the association between sexual orientation and high risk sexual behaviors and its sex differences by using Chi square test and Logistic regression analysis method.@*Results@#The prevalence of sexual behaviors was 18.2%, the prevalence of high risk sexual behaviors was 7.2%, and the prevalence of high risk sexual behaviors was higher among non heterosexuals(13.5%) than among heterosexuals (6.7%),the prevalence of high risk sexual behaviors was higher among males (9.2%) than among females(5.3%),and the differences were statistically significant( χ 2=9.40, 10.77, P <0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that the association between sexual orientation and high risk sexual behaviors was not statistically significant( OR=1.52, 95%CI=0.83-2.80, P >0.05). However, stratified analysis by sex revealed that among male students, the risk of high risk sexual behaviors was 3.57 times higher among non heterosexuals than among heterosexuals( OR= 3.57 , 95%CI=1.52-8.41, P <0.01), while among female students, the association between sexual orientation and high risk sexual behaviors was not statistically significant( OR=0.48, 95%CI=0.15-1.57, P >0.05).@*Conclusion@#There are sex differences in the relationship between sexual orientation and high risk sexual behaviors among college students. Male non-heterosexuals are at higher risk for high risk sexual behaviors than male heterosexuals. Therefore, prevention and interventions for high risk sexual behaviors among college students should focus on gay and bisexual men so as to reduce the occurance rate of their high risk sexual behaviors.

RESUMO

Objective@#To understand the current situation of suicide attempts in middle school students and to explore its relation with adolescent parent attachment, to provide a basis for the prevention and control of middle school students suicidal behavior.@*Methods@#A total of 4 419 students from grades 7 to 12 in Ezhou City and Xiaogan City, Hubei Province were selected by stratified cluster random sampling. The Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, Kessler Psychological Distress Scale were used to conduct a questionnaire Survey, and evaluated the suicide attempts of middle school students.@*Results@#The detection rate of attempted suicide among middle school students was 6.8%. The detection rate of attempted suicide varies among different grades, family types, parental relation, parenting style, family income, self esteem level, and psychological distress( χ 2/ t =3.88, 10.12, 18.00, 52.54, 13.90 , 2.37, 8.99, P <0.05). The scores of paternal attachment and maternal attachment ( 14.64 ±13.45, 14.77±12.26) in the group with attempted suicide were lower than those without attempted suicide(22.05±16.08, 23.79±14.93)( t =-9.07, -12.11, P <0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that both paternal attachment and maternal attachment were associated with lower rate of suicide attempts among middle school students(paternal attachment, OR=0.99, 95%CI = 0.98 -0.99; maternal attachment OR=0.97, 95%CI =0.96-0.98), with paternal attachment for girls only( OR=0.98, 95%CI= 0.97 -0.99)(P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#Adolescent parent attachment may be a protective factor for middle school students suicide attempts. Sex specific effects are observed in adolescent father attachment in girls. Parents should pay attention to cultivating a good attachment relationship with their children and promote the healthy growth of middle school students.

RESUMO

ObjectiveTo describe the epidemiologic, clinical, laboratory, and radiological characteristics and prognoses of COVID-19 confirmed patients in a single center in Beijing, China. Methods The study retrospectively included 19 patients with nucleic acid-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection at our hospital from January 20 to March 5, 2020. The final follow-up date was March 14, 2020. The epidemiologic and clinical information was obtained through direct communication with the patients or their family members. Laboratory results retrieved from medical records and radiological images were analyzed both qualitatively by two senior chest radiologists as well as quantitatively via an artificial intelligence software. Results We identified 5 family clusters (13/19, 68.4%) from the study cohort. All cases had good clinical prognoses and were either mild (3/19) or moderate (16/19) clinical types. Fever (15/19, 78.9%) and dry cough (11/19, 57.9%) were common symptoms. Two patients received negative results for more than three consecutive viral nucleic acid tests. The longest interval between an initial CT abnormal finding and a confirmed diagnosis was 30 days. One patient's nucleic acid test turned positive on the follow-up examination after discharge. The presence of radiological abnormalities was non-specific for the diagnosis of COVID-19. Conclusions COVID-19 patients with mild or no clinical symptoms are common in Beijing, China. Radiological abnormalities are mostly non-specific and massive CT examinations for COVID-19 screening should be avoided. Analyses of the contact histories of diagnosed cases in combination with clinical, radiological and laboratory findings are crucial for the early detection of COVID-19. Close monitoring after discharge is also recommended.

RESUMO

Objective@#To study the effect of miR-194-3p on the migration of keloid fibroblasts.@*Methods@#Differentially expressed miRNA were screened by gene chip in 8 human keloid and normal tissues. The down regulated miR-194-3p was selected for study and its binding to RUNX2 was predicted by MiRDB, and verified by fluorescent reporter gene in human keloid fibroblasts (HKFs) and passage 3 keloid cells, respectively. The effect of miR-194-3p on the migration of fibroblasts was detected by transwell assay. Western blot and real-time PCR were used to analyze the effect of miR-194-3p on RUNX2 and MMP2 expression in HKFs. The results were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 software and compared by non-paired t test. P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.@*Results@#There were abnormal expressions of miR-721, miR-21-3p, miR-382-3p, miR-194-3p, miR-3107-5p and miR-144-5p in keloid. miRDB software analysis showed that miR-194-3p and RUNX2 had targeted binding sites. Reporter gene experiments showed that miR-194-3p inhibited the activity of RUNX2 by about 50% compared with the control group (t=2.7764, P=0.0005). MiR-194-3p could significantly inhibit the expression of RUNX2 and MMP2, and inhibited the migration of keloid fibroblasts (t=2.7764, P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#MiR-194-3p may inhibit the migration of fibroblasts by inhibiting the activity of RUNX2 in keloid.

RESUMO

An analytical method based on ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was developed for the determination of SIOC0426 residues in environment samples ( soil, sediment and water) . The fate of SIOC0426 in three kinds of soils was also evaluated. The target compound was extracted with acetonitrile, cleaned up by C18 cartridge, and analyzed by gradient ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry with electrospray ionization under positive mode ( ESI+) using a UPLC BEH C18 column. The method was validated using fortified soil, sediment and water. Mean recoveries of SIOC0426 at three spiked levels ( 0 . 005 , 0 . 05 and 2 . 0 mg/kg ) ranged from 87% to 106% with relative standard deviations of 2. 8%-8. 0%. Limits of quantification ( LOQs) of SIOC0426 in soil ( sediment) and water were 0. 2 μg/kg and 0. 2 μg/L, respectively. Linear calibration functions with correlation coefficients R2>0. 9999 were obtained in the concentration range of 0. 5-20 μg/L. This method was applied to the analysis of SIOC0426 residues in soil degradation samples. The results showed that the half-life of SIOC0426 ranged from 1. 72 days to 28. 2 days in three kinds of soils under aerobiotic conditions. While, the half-life of SIOC0426 ranged from 2. 93 days to 31. 4 days in three kinds of soils under anaerobic conditions. The degradation speed of SIOC0426 under aerobiotic conditions was faster than that under anaerobic conditions in the same soil. And the degradation speed of SIOC0426 in soils may be connected with the pH value of soils, cation exchange capacity and soil texture.

RESUMO

Objective@#To explore the application and effect of superficial temporal fascia flap combined with avulsion auricular tissue in emergency auricular restoration.@*Methods@#From June 2015 to December 2015, 6 patients with auricular large area complete avulsion were underwent treatment in Department of Plastic Surgery of General Hospital of Shenyang Military. After thorough debridement, the auricular cartilage scaffold of the avlusion ear and skin was completely stripped. The auricular cartilage was repositioned on its anatomical site and subsequently covered by superficial temporal fascia flap. The free skin was stripped as full-thickness graft to cover the surface of reconstructed ear.@*Results@#All 6 patients with auricle large area complete avulsion achieved immediate repair under emergency condition. The operations were successfully completed and the ears were healed primarily. The patients were followed-up for one year. Five patients with partial auricular avulsion achieved obvious reconstructed auricle profile. The color of reconstructed ear was close to the surrounding skin and the cranioauricular angle was nearly normal. Patients and their families were very satisfied. One patient of total auricular reconstruction had auricular contracture. The auricle profile was not obvious with small size, morphological changes and external auditory canal stenosis.@*Conclusions@#Avulsion auricle and temporal superficial fascia flap can be used to repair partial auricle defects as a first-stage repair with ideal results. It is the best choice for large auricle defects in emergency cases.

RESUMO

ObjectiveTo retrospectively analyze the short-term efficacy and long-term survival rates of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy (PMCT) versus TACE monotherapy in the treatment of large primary hepatic carcinoma. MethodsSixty-seven patients with unresectable large primary hepatic carcinoma(>5.0 cm) who were admitted to our hospital from February 2011 to May 2014 were enrolled as subjects. Among these patients, 34 patients received TACE monotherapy and 33 patients received TACE combined with PMCT. At one month after treatment, the abdomen was re-examined using contrast-enhanced computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, and liver function and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level were measured. The follow-up period varied from 3 to 36 months. Comparison of short-term outcomes, AFP level, and long-term survival rates were performed between the two groups. Comparison of continuous data was made by t test, and comparison of categorical data by χ2 test and Fisher′s test. ResultsThe complete ablation rate and the response rate were significantly higher in the combination therapy group than in the TACE monotherapy group (54.5% vs 20.6%, P=0.004; 97% vs 64.7%, P=0.001). The AFP level after treatment with combination therapy was significantly lower than that before treatment with combination therapy and that after treatment with TACE monotherapy (P<0001; P<0001). Patients in both groups had varying degrees of liver dysfunction and elevated aminotransferase, but with no severe complications such as bleeding, gastrostoma, colon fistula, bile duct injury, and needle tract metastasis, as well as deaths. The median survival time in the combination therapy group and the TACE monotherapy group was 13 months and 9 months, respectively, and the mean survival time was 14.00±1.63 months and 10.83±1.19 months, respectively. The 1-, 2-, and 3-year overall survival rates in the combination therapy group were significantly higher than those in the TACE monotherapy group (63.6% vs 28.4%; 15.2% vs 5.9%; 4.5% vs 0%; P=0044). ConclusionTACE combined with PMCT is a safe and effective therapy regimen, which achieves better treatment outcomes in local tumor control, substantially lower AFP level, and longer survival time than TACE monotherapy.
