RESUMO

With the development of the new generation of 16S rRNA sequencing technology and metagenomics, the relationship between the microbiota and bronchial asthma (asthma for short) has been increasingly recognized, and has become a research hotspot in the pathogenesis of asthma. It is estimated that more than 10,000 different microbial species inhabit the human body, affecting nutrition, metabolism and immune function of body. The imbalance of microbial flora leads to the disturbance of the internal environment in the body, which causes diseases such as asthma. Asthma is determined by both genetic and environmental effects, and the microbiota plays an important role in the pathogenesis, phenotype and disease severity of asthma. This paper reviews the role of different microbiota in the development of asthma.

RESUMO

Objective:To investigate the mechanism of β-carotene anti-inflammatory on intestinal epithelial cells. Methods:The piglet jejunum epithelium(IPEC-J2)cell line was used as an cell model. The cells were divided into 4 groups[control group,β-carotene group,β-carotene pre-protective group and Lipopoly-saccharide(LPS)group].The control group was not treated,β-carotene group and β-carotene pre-protective group were pretreated with β-carotene.Lipopoly-saccharide(LPS)and β-carotene pre-protective groups were stimulated with LPS.The cell viability was detected by MTT.Western blot was performed to detect the expression of Occludin,Claudin4 and ZO-1 tight junction proteins. Results:The expression of IPEC-J2 cell tight junction protein in LPS group were significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The expression of tight junction protein in β-carotene pre-protective group was significantly higher than that in LPS group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Increasing the expression of tight junction proteins may be one of the ways that anti-inflammatory effect of β-carotene in jejunum epithelial cells.

RESUMO

Objective· To investigate the value of three-dimensional spin-lattice relaxation (T1ρ) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for liver fibrosis detection and staging and compare with two-dimentional real-time shear wave elastography (SWE). Methods · Twenty-nine rabbit models of CCl4-induced liver fibrosis were established and six untreated rabbits served as controls. T1ρ MRI and two-dimentional real-time SWE examinations were performed at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks, respectively. T1ρ values and liver stiffness (LS) values were measured. Fibrosis was staged according to the METAVIR scoring system. Correlation test was performed among T1ρ values, LS values and fibrosis staging. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed to compare the diagnostic performance of T1ρ and SWE in detection of fibrosis. Results · There was a moderate positive correlation between fibrosis staging and T1ρ values (r=0.566, P=0.000), and a significantly positive correlation between fibrosis staging and LS values (r=0.726, P=0.003).Areas under ROC were 0.861 for SWE and 0.856 for T1ρ(P=0.940),0.906 for SWE and 0.849 for T1ρ(P=0.414),0.870 for SWE and 0.799 for T1ρ (P=0.422), and 0.846 for SWE and 0.692 for T1ρ (P=0.137), when diagnosing liver fibrosis with ≥?F1, ≥?F2, ≥?F3 and F4 stage, respectively. Conclusion · T1ρ imaging has potential for liver fibrosis detection and staging with good diagnostic capability similar to that of SWE.

RESUMO

In recent years, micro/nano-scaled separation technique has attracted increasing attention due to its inherent advantages. The porous layer open tubular ( PLOT) capillary column is an important microcolumn form. Comparied to wide-bore PLOT capillary columns ( inner diameter >25 μm ) , the PLOT capillary columns with a narrow inner diameter yield higher separation efficiency and lower reagent consumption. In this paper, the preparation methods for porous layer open tubular capillary columns with narrow inner diameter, less than or equal to 25 μm, are reviewed. Detection techniques combined with mass spectrometry and their applications in liquid chromatography are also disussed.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To compare the clinical efficacies of humeral head prosthesis and internal fixation in the treatment of comminuted proximal humeral fractures.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The clinical data were analyzed for the patients with comminuted proximal humeral fractures undergoing surgeries for humeral head replacement or open reduction plus internal fixation in our hospital between January 2002 and January 2009. Constant scores were used to determine the excellent clinical outcome rates in the two groups, and the operating time, blood loss and postoperative motor scores of the shoulder were compared.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Forty patients in the humeral head replacement group were evaluated. According to the Constant scores, excellent outcomes were achieved in 16 patients, good outcomes in 18 patients, moderate in 3 patients, and poor in 3 patients, with an excellent outcome rate of 85%. In the 40 cases receiving open reduction plus internal fixation, excellent outcomes were achieved in 11 cases, good in 13 cases, moderate in 8 cases, and poor in 8 cases, with an excellent clinical outcome rate of 60%. Compared with open reduction plus internal fixation, humeral head replacement was associated with shortened operating time, reduced blood loss and better motor function recovery of the shoulder.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Replacement of humeral head prosthesis produces better clinical outcomes than open reduction and internal fixation in patients with comminuted proximal humeral fractures, and can promote the short-term functional recovery of the shoulder with minimal surgical complications.</p>

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To evaluate the immuno-effects of hepatitis B (HB) vaccination in adults.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Five groups were sampled by means of cluster sampling, and serum HBsAg, anti-HBs and anti-HBc were tested in every group at people aged from 18 to 50. Recombinant HB vaccine was injected to the ones that HBsAg, anti-HBs and anti-HBc were all negative. Concentration of anti-HBs in serum was tested after one year and three years of vaccination. Immuno-effects of recombinant HB vaccination in adults at different ages and between sexes, were then calculated.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Good immuno-effects of recombinant HB vaccination in adults were noticed. After one year and three years of vaccination with 5 micro g recombinant HB vaccine, the anti-HBs positive rates were 82.76%, 70.77% while the serum concentrations of anti-HBs were 55.91 mIU/ml and 35.41 mIU/ml respectively. When 10 micro g was used, the concentrations were 83.74%, 72.22%, 56.89 mIU/ml and 30.29 mIU/ml respectively. The effects did not show significant differences between different doses on 10 micro g and of 5 micro g. Concentration of anti-HBs reduced when time went by. The factors such as age and sex influenced the effects of immunity on recombinant HB vaccination.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Good immunity could be obtained when recombinant hepatitis B was vaccinated in vulnerable population aged 18 to 50.</p>
