RESUMO

Objective@#In this study, we tested for the presence of four human coronaviruses (HCoVs) in children with respiratory tract disease in Fuzhou, Fujian, China.@*Methods@#Nasopharyngeal aspirates were collected from children with respiratory tract disease from Nov, 2007 to Jan, 2015. A total of 266 clinical samples were tested for HCoVs using reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The positive products were sequenced and compared with those in GenBank by BLAST. The positive samples were then tested for HCoV-HKU1 and HCoV-NL63 using RT-PCR method . We compared the 440 bp pol gene sequence of the 8 HCoV isolates in Fuzhou, China to other HCoV isolates documented in the GenBank database by using MEGA software version 6.06 and the neighbor-joining method .@*Results@#HCoVs were detected in 8 patients (3.0%) out of the 266 children. Two of 266 (0.38%) were positive for HCoV-HKU1; 1 of 266(0.38%)were positive for HCoV-NL63; 1 of 266 (0.38%) were positive for HCoV-229E; 4 of 266 (1.5%)were positive for HCoV-OC43. All of children who were positive for HCoV had respiratory illness. Two HCoV-HKU1 were found to co-infect with human parainfluenza virus type 3 (HPIV-3). The 8 HCoV strains in our study fell into four clusters. Two strains of HCoV-HKU1 were genotype A.@*Conclusions@#HCoV infections were probably associated with upper and lower respiratory illness in children. Additional studies are needed to investigate the potential roles of these HCoVs in diseases.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the effect of pidotimod combined with antibacterials on the immunologic functions and clinical curative efficacy for patients undergoing recurrent respiratory tract infections. Methods Patients with recurrent respiratory tract infections (150 cases) were enrolled in Matemal and Child Health Hospital of Guangyuan from August 2013 to January 2016,which divided to two groups randomly,Group A (n =75) accepted traditional antibacterials treatment, and Group B (n =75) adopted pidotimod combined with antibacterials. The clinical symptom and immunologic functions of patients during treatment were tested, and the clinical curative efficacy of patients was evaluated in the follow-up period. Results After treatment, the disappear time of cough, fever, tonsil inflammation and pulmonary wheezing in treatment group was significantly shorter than that of control group (P < 0.05).After treatment, the levels of serum immunoglobulin in two groups were higher than those before treatment (P < 0.05),and the treatment group was significantly higher than control group (P < 0.05).After treatment, the relative activities of CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,and NK cells in two groups increased significantly (P < 0.05),the relative content of CD4+/CD8+ was also increased (P <0.05),and the improvement of above indexes in the treatment group was more obvious than those in control group (P < 0.05).After treatment, total effective rate of treatment group was significantly higher than that of control group (P < 0.05),the recurrence of infection in the treatment group is significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05),and the recurrence duration was significantly shorter than control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion The clinical curative of pidotimod combined with antibacterials was remarkable for patients of recurrent respiratory tract infections, which deserved popularization not only improving the immunologic functions, but also decreasing the times of recurrence.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the dynamic changes of lymphocyte subsets (lymphocyte count, CD3 +T,CD4 +T,CD8 +T,CD19 +B,CD56 +NK)in children with septic shock. Methods Peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets were analysed in 25 cases with severe septic shock and 24 cases with mild septic shock on day 1 ,3,8,and compared with those of 25 healthy volunteers.Children with severe septic shock were divided in-to survival group and dying group according to the outcome. The detection data were compared. Results In the first day of admission, peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets in children with septic shock decreased significantly compared with the normal children, and there was significant difference in the three groups(P 0.05),but children with severe septic shock had statistical increase of CD4 +T,CD3 +T and lymphocyte count(P <0.05).There were 5 cases died who had se-vere septic shock in day 2 to day 5 after admission. The count of lymphocyte subsets were detected significantly lower in dying group than survival group in the third day of admission(P <0.05).Conclusion The continuous low level of lymphocyte subsets indicates bad outcome. The patientˊs condition improved with increase of CD4 +T,CD3 +T,lymphocyte count.CD4 +T is the most sensitive.Dynamic detection of lymphocyte subsets in the pe-ripheral blood of children with septic shock is of great clinical significance in judging the severity of disease and cura-tive effect.
