RESUMO

SUMMARY: In this study, we aim to share the volumes of the carpal bone and the ratio of these volumes to the total volume of wrist bones from Computed Tomography (CT) images obtained from individuals of different ages and sex using 3D Slicer. Right wrist CT images of 0.625 mm slice thickness of 42 healthy individuals (21 female, 21 male) of both sexes were included in our study. Volume calculations were made by loading the images into 3D Slicer, an open-source software package. In this study, mean capitate volume was the largest in both sexes (male 3479.9±679.2; female 2207.1±272.1 mm3), while pisiform had the smallest mean volume (male 810.0±141.2; female 566.6±97.7 mm3). This order was ordered from largest to smallest as hamate, scaphoid, trapezium, lunate, triquetrum, trapezoid, and pisiform. According to this study, carpal bone volumes were larger in males than in females (p0.05). In this study, it was seen that carpal bone volume differed according to sex. However, it was observed that the bone volumes of both sexes took up the same amount in the total bone volume. This information will be very useful in sex determination, 3D anatomical material creation, implant applications and reconstructive surgery.

SUMMARY: Since machine learning algorithms give more reliable results, they have been used in the field of health in recent years. The orbital variables give very successful results in classifying sex correctly. This research has focused on sex determination using certain variables obtained from the orbital images of the computerized tomography (CT) by using machine learning algorithms (ML). In this study 12 variables determined on 600 orbital images of 300 individuals (150 men and 150 women) were tested with different ML. Decision tree (DT), K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Logistic Regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), and Naive Bayes (NB) algorithms of ML were used for unsupervised learning. Statistical analyses of the variables were conducted with Minitab® 21.2 (64-bit) program. ACC rate of NB, DT, KNN, and LR algorithms was found as % 83 while the ACC rate of LDA and RFC algorithms was determined as % 85. According to Shap analysis, the variable with the highest degree of effect was found as BOW. The study has determined the sex with high accuracy at the ratios of 0.83 and 0.85 through using the variables of the orbital CT images, and the related morphometric data of the population under question was acquired, emphasizing the racial variation.

Abstract Objective To evaluate whether three-dimensional (3D) printing increases agreement in the classification of tibial pilon fractures. Methods Orthopedists and traumatologists reviewed radiographs, computed tomography scans with 3D reconstruction, and prototyping 3D printing, and classified the fractures based on the Rüedi-Allgöwer and Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO, Association for the Study of Internal Fixation) Foundation/Orthopedic Trauma Association (AO/OTA) classification systems. Next, data evaluation used Kappa agreement coefficients. Results The use of the 3D model did not improve agreement for tibial pilon fractures regarding the treatment proposed by the groups. Regarding the classification systems, the agreement only improved concerning the AO/OTA classification when the 3D model was used in the assessment by the foot and ankle specialists. Conclusion Although 3D printing is statistically relevant for surgeons specializing in foot and ankle, its values remain lower than optimal.

Introduction: Liver anatomy has always been a challenge due to its complexity and variability. In recent years, lower costs has allowed the generation of individualized 3D models for each patient, which can facilitate the surgical approach to liver lesions. The main objective was to determine usefulness of preoperative 3D modeling for surgical planning in patients with liver lesions. Methods: Quasi-experimental before-after study. 19 cases were included in which surgery was planned using a 3D printed model (13 bilobar hepatectomies, 3 of them with vascular involvement, and 6 unilobar hepatectomies, 1 of them with vascular involvement), and another 19 cases whose planning was carried out without a 3D printed model (7 bilobar segmental hepatic resections and 12 unilobar segmental resections. None of these cases had vascular involvement). Results: A significant difference in mean lesion count was observed, higher in the group of cases when performing the Wilcoxon test (p < 0.001), and a higher number of cases with vascular involvement in the same group when performing the Pearson chi-square test (p = 0.008). The rest of the variables did not show statistically significant differences. Despite this, mortality was reduced to 0 when 3D printed models were used. Conclusion: 3D printing allows for more precise planning of complex liver surgeries, helps with the inclusion and exclusion of patients for surgery, reduces operating room time, postoperative hospitalization, and surgical complications.

RESUMO

Objective@#To investigate the effects of electrochemically dealloying of Ti6Al4V abutments on human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) and to provide experimental evidence for surface modification of implant abutments.@*Methods@#The samples were divided into an NC group (negative control, no other treatment on a smooth surface), an NM-1 group (nanomesh-1, electrochemical dealloying treatment in 1 mol/L NaOH 1 h on 2 V voltage), and an NM-2 group (nanomesh-2, electrochemical dealloying treatment in 5 mol/L NaOH 1 h on 2 V voltage). The surface morphologies of the samples and the adhesion of HGFs on the sample surfaces were observed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The surface hydrophilicities of the samples were measured with a contact angle measuring instrument. The proliferation of HGFs on the different samples were evaluated with CCK-8, and the expression of adhesion-related genes, including collagen Ⅰ (COL1A1), collagen Ⅲ (COL3A1), fibronectin 1 (FN1), focal adhesion kinase (FAK), vinculin (VCL), integrin α2 (ITGA2), and integrin β1 (ITGB1), on the different samples was measured with qRT-PCR. The expression of vinculin on the surfaces of HGFs was observed via confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) after immunofluorescent staining. Collagen fiber secretion and syntheses of HGFs from different samples were evaluated via Sirius red staining.@*Results@#SEM revealed the formation of ordered and uniform three-dimensional mesh structures on the surfaces of the NM-1 and NM-2 groups, with grid diameters of approximately 30 nm for the NM-1 group and approximately 150 nm for the NM-2 group. Compared with that of the NC group, the water contact angles of the NM-1 group and NM-2 groups were significantly lower (P<0.000 1). Cell proliferation in the NM-1 group was significantly greater than that in the NC group (P<0.01). Moreover, there was no significant difference in the water contact angles or cell proliferation between the NM-1 group and the NM-2 group. SEM revealed that HGFs were adhered well to the surfaces of all samples, while the HGFs in the NM-1 and NM-2 groups showed more extended areas, longer morphologies, and more developed pseudopodia than did those in the NC group after 24 h. qRT-PCR revealed that the expression levels of the adhesion-related genes COL1A1, COL3A1, FN1, FAK and VCL in the NM-1 group were significantly greater than those in the NC and NM-2 groups (P<0.01). The expression of vinculin protein in the NM-1 group was the highest, and the number of focal adhesions was greatest in the NM-1 group (P<0.01). The results of Sirius red staining showed that the NM-1 group had the highest secretion and syntheses of collagen fibers (P<0.000 1).@*Conclusion@#The three-dimensional nanomechanical structure of Ti6Al4V modified by electrochemical dealloying promoted the adhesion, proliferation, collagen fiber secretion and syntheses of HGFs, and electrochemical dealloying of Ti6Al4V with a grid diameter of approximately 30 nm obviously promoted HGF formation.

RESUMO

@#Objective    To investigate the clinical effect of 3D computed tomography bronchial bronchography and angiography (3D-CTBA) and guidance of thoracoscopic anatomic pulmonary segmentectomy by Mimics software system. Methods    A retrospective analysis was performed on patients who underwent thoracoscopic segmentectomy in the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Affiliated People's Hospital of Jiangsu University from June 2020 to December 2022. The patients who underwent preoperative 3D-CTBA using Materiaise's interactive medical image control system (Mimics) were selected as an observation group, and the patients who did not receive 3D-CTBA were selected as a control group. The relevant clinical indicators were compared between the two groups. Results    A total of 59 patients were included, including 29 males and 30 females, aged 25-79 years. There were 37 patients in the observation group, and 22 patients in the control group. The operation time (163.0±48.7 min vs. 188.8±43.0 min, P=0.044), intraoperative blood loss [10.0 (10.0, 20.0) mL vs. 20.0 (20.0, 35.0) mL, P<0.001], and preoperative puncture localization rate (5.4% vs. 31.8%, P=0.019) in the observation group were better than those in the control group. There was no statistically significant difference in the thoracic tube placement time, thoracic fluid drainage volume, number of intraoperative closure nail bin, postoperative hospital stay, or postoperative air leakage incidence (P>0.05) between the two groups. Conclusion    For patients who need to undergo anatomical pulmonary segmentectomy, using Mimics software to produce 3D-CTBA before surgery can help accurately identify pulmonary arteriovenous anatomy, reduce surgical time and intraoperative blood loss, help to determine the location of nodules and reduce invasive localization before surgery, and alleviate patients' pain, which is worthy of clinical promotion.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the dynamic process of fluid-structure interaction(FSI)between venous blood and valves and the physiological mechanism that guarantees unidirectional blood reflux back to the heart. Methods A three-dimensional(3D)numerical model of the venous system was established using the immersed boundary/finite element method. In the simulation, information from medical images of human lower-extremity veins and the anatomical structure and size of the bovine great saphenous vein were applied. Moreover,a hyperelastic constitutive model was used to describe the incompressible, nonlinear, and hyperelastic mechanical responses of the venous valve under physiological conditions. Results The simulations visualized the process of venous blood transport and the function of venous valves in preventing reflux. The periodic characteristics of venous valve motion and blood flow were reproduced, and important physiological data during the entire cardiac cycle were discussed and quantified, including the pressure, velocity, and flow rate of venous blood;opening area of the venous valve;and stress and strain distributions on the valve surface. Conclusions The 3D FSI model numerically reproduces the physiological dynamic process within veins and potentially provides important references and guidance for revealing the pathological mechanism of venous diseases.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the influence of different cell structures on the static and dynamic mechanical performance of porous titanium alloy scaffolds, and to provide a theoretical mechanical basis for the application of scaffolds in the repair of mandibular bone defects. Methods Porous titanium alloy scaffolds with diamond, cubic, and cross-sectional cubic cell structures were manufactured using three-dimensional printing technology.Uniaxial compression tests and ratcheting fatigue with compression load tests were conducted to analyze the static and dynamic mechanical performances of scaffolds with different cell structures. Results The elastic moduli of the diamond cell,cross-sectional cubic cell, and cubic cell scaffolds were 1.17,0.566,and 0.322 GPa,respectively, and the yield strengths were 71.8,65.1,and 31.8 MPa,respectively. After reaching the stable stage, the ratcheting strains of the cross-sectional cubic, diamond, and cubic cell scaffolds were 3.3%,4.0%,and 4.5%,respectively.The ratcheting strain increased with increasing average stress, stress amplitude, and peak holding time, and decreased with increasing loading rate. Conclusions The evaluation results of the static mechanical performance showed that the diamond cell scaffold was the best, followed by the cross-sectional cubic cell scaffold and the cubic cell scaffold. The evaluation results of the dynamic mechanical performance showed that the cross-sectional cubic cell scaffold performed the best, followed by the diamond cell scaffold, whereas the cubic cell scaffold performed the worst. The fatigue performance of the scaffold is affected by the loading conditions. These results provide new insights for scaffold construction for the repair of mandibular bone defects and provide an experimental basis for further clinical applications of this scaffold technology.

RESUMO

Objective To study the mechanical properties of titanium mesh and three-dimensional(3D)-printed metal vertebral body substitutes(VBS)to provide guidance for the selection and structural optimization of artificial vertebral implants in clinical practice. Methods The equivalent elastic modulus, equivalent yield strength, and structural failure mode of titanium mesh and 3D-printed porous, truss, and topologically optimized VBS were systematically investigated using compression tests. Results The elastic modulus of the titanium mesh(2 908.73±287.39 MPa)was only lower than that of the topologically optimized VBS.However, their structural strengths and stabilities were inadequate. The yield strength of the titanium mesh(46.61±4.85 MPa)was only higher than that of the porous VBS and it was the first to yield during compression. The porous VBS was insufficient for use as the vertebral implant owing to its poor mechanical strength(18.14±0.17 MPa-25.79±0.40 MPa).The truss VBS had good elastic modulus(2 477.86±55.19 MPa-2 620.08±194.36 MPa)and strength(77.61±0.50 MPa-88.42±1.07 MPa).However, the structural stability of the truss VBS was insufficient, and instability occurred easily during compression. The topologically optimized VBS had the highest elastic modulus(3 746.28±183.80 MPa)and yield strength(177.43±3.82 MPa)among all the tested VBS types, which could provide improved security and stability for artificial vertebral implant in vivo services. Conclusions Topology optimization results in a high strength and high stability VBS design. Moreover,it provides a large design space and great safety margin to provide increased possibilities for lightweight and new material design of future artificial vertebral implants.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the accuracy of the multiplication coefficient method and the moment synthesis method for determining the spatial position of the center of gravity(CoG)of the human body based on machine vision. Methods The mechanical measurement platform was built, and the three-dimensional(3D)human body CoG measurement method under static and dynamic conditions were designed to calculate the space coordinates of the CoG.Through experiments, the calculation accuracy of the multiplication coefficient and moment synthesis method were studied and analyzed. Results In the static experiments, the calculation results of the torque synthesis method were more accurate than those of the multiplication coefficient method for each dimension. The errors in the 3D CoG of the human body in the X,Y,and Z directions calculated using the torque synthesis method were 3.9%,4.1%,and 8.5%,respectively.In the dynamic experiment, the average and relative errors of the torque synthesis method in the X or Y direction were lower than those of the multiplication-coefficient method. When the action decomposition method was used to analyze the height direction of the CoG along the Z axis, the final rendering effect of the torque synthesis method improved. Conclusions The accuracy of the 3D CoG calculated by the moment synthesis method was relatively high, and was closer to the measurement data of the mechanical measurement platform. The 3D CoG calculated using the moment synthesis method can replace the mechanical measurement platform and can be used in subsequent studies.

RESUMO

Objective:To investigate the value of three-dimensional reconstruction combined with serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) detection in the diagnosis and resectability evaluation of hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCCA) before resectable lymph node metastasis. Methods:A total of 65 patients with suspected HCCA who were treated at Yiwu Central Hospital from June 2019 to June 2022 were included in the observation group. Thirty healthy people who concurrently underwent physical examinations in the same hospital were included in the control group. All participants underwent a CT three-dimensional reconstruction examination. Simultaneously, the automatic electrochemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer was used to measure serum levels of CA19-9 and CEA. The outcomes of percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography were used as the "gold standard". The consistency between CT three-dimensional reconstruction, CA19-9 detection, and CEA detection, either individually or combined, and the "gold standard" in the diagnosis of HCCA was evaluated. Results:Serum levels of CA19-9 and CEA in the observation group were (62.71 ± 10.63) U/mL and (62.71 ± 10.63) ng/mL, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the control group [(12.37 ± 7.39) U/mL, (1.31 ± 0.97) ng/mL, t = 23.43, 11.59, both P < 0.05). The levels of CA19-9 [(71.69 ± 12.37) U/mL] and CEA [(8.89 ± 3.51) ng/mL] in patients with HCCA who had lymph node metastasis were significantly higher than those in patients with HCCA who had no lymph node metastasis [CA19-9 (56.78 ± 10.16) U/mL, CEA (6.45 ± 2.11) ng/mL, t = 4.14, 2.76, both P < 0.05].Compared with histopathological examination, the accuracy of CT three-dimensional reconstruction in typing was 85.00%. According to the "gold standard" diagnosis, CT three-dimensional reconstruction, CA19-9 detection, and CEA detection, alone and their combination, successfully detected HCCA in 22 cases (55.00%), 26 cases (65.00%), 31 cases (77.50%), and 38 cases (95.00%), respectively. The detection rate of HCCA was the highest when CT three-dimensional reconstruction, CA19-9 detection, and CEA detection were combined, and the difference was statistically significant ( χ2 = 18.15, P < 0.05). Compared with CT three-dimensional reconstruction (AUC: 0.808), CA19-9 detection (AUC: 0.721), and CEA detection (AUC: 0.703) individually, their combination (AUC: 0.913) had the highest value in the diagnosis of HCCA (all P < 0.05). Conclusion:CT three-dimensional reconstruction, CA19-9 detection, and CEA detection have a certain diagnostic value for HCCA, but the combination of CT three-dimensional reconstruction with the detection of serum levels of CA19-9 and CEA has a higher diagnostic value for HCCA, providing an effective reference for the preoperative evaluation of the resectability of HCCA in the clinic.

RESUMO

Objectives:To evaluate the tricuspid valve(TV)geometric remodeling in patients with idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension(IPAH)by three-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography. Methods:Two-dimensional and three-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography were performed in 30 IPAH patients and 15 healthy controls, and the geometry parameters of TV were obtained by four-dimensional auto tricuspid valve quantitative(4D Auto-TVQ)in the right ventricular-focused apical view.Pulmonary arterial hypertension was determined by right heart catheterization within 48 hours of echocardiography. Results:The 4-chamber diameter, tricuspid annular(TA)perimeter,TA area, maximal tenting height, coaptation point height and tenting volume were larger in IPAH patients than those in healthy controls(all P<0.05),2-chamber diameter was similar between two groups. In IPAH group, maximal tenting height and coaptation point height were moderately correlated with right ventricular end-diastolic volume(r=0.710,r=0.515,both P<0.05),while TA perimeter,4-chamber diameter and TA area were moderately correlated with right atrial end-systolic volume(r=0.712,r=0.558,r=0.545,all P<0.05). Conclusions:IPAH patients have larger maximal tenting height, coaptation point height and tenting volume,TA enlargement is mainly visible in 4-chamber diameter.TV tenting height is associated with right ventricular volume, but TA size is associated with right atrial volume in IPAH patients.

Objective To investigate the predictive value of serum placental growth factor(PLGF)/soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1(sFlt-1),combined with the placental three-dimensional energy Doppler index(3D-PDI)in preeclampsia(PE).Methods From January 2021 to December 2022,120 pregnant women with PE risk factors were selected and followed up until 1 week after delivery.Serum PLGF and sFlt-1 levels were measured at routine prenatal check-ups at 14 to 20 weeks gestation. The PLGF/sFlt-1 ratio was calculated, and placental 3D-PDI was detected by ultrasound, including the vascularization index(VI),blood flow index(FI),and vascularization-blood flow index(VFI).Based on whether PE occurred after 20 weeks of pregnancy, cases were divided into PE(55 cases)and control groups(65 cases). The PE group was further divided into mild PE(35 cases)and severe PE groups(20 cases)based on the severity of the di-sease.The differences in PLGF/sFlt-1 and 3D-PDI between the groups were compared in terms of a statistical analysis of the correlation between PLGF,sFlt-1,and 3D-PDI.The receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was plotted, and the predictive value of each index on PE alone or in combination was analyzed. Results The systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),24 h protein-uria level, preterm birth rate,NICU admission rate, and preconception BMI in the PE group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The two groups had no differences in age, gestational age, pregnancy history, and fertility history(P>0.05).The serum PLGF/sFlt-1 of the PE group was lower than that of the control group, and the serum PLGF/sFlt-1 of the severe group was lower than that of the mild group(P<0.05).The 3D-PDI index of the PE group was lower than that of the control group, and the 3D-PDI index of the severe group was lower than that of the mild group(P<0.05).Pearson's correlation analysis indicated that PLGF and VFI were signifi-cantly positively correlated(P<0.01),and sFlt-1 was significantly negatively correlated with VFI(P<0.01).ROC curve analysis showed that PLGF/sFlt-1,VI,FI,and VFI all had predictive value for PE and the value of VI,FI,and VFI jointly predicted PE,and was higher than that of various parameters(AUC = 0.951).Serum PLGF/sFlt-1,VI,FI,and VFI combined predicted the highest value(AUC=0.987).Conclusion In patients with PE,serum PLGF,sFlt-1,and placental VFI are significantly correlated.Serum PLGF/sFlt-1,placenta VI,FI,and VFI are reduced in early pregnancy, and the combined application of the four indicators has the highest efficacy in predicting PE,providing a possible reference for the early clinical screening or prediction of PE.

RESUMO

Objective:To analyze the diagnostic value of transvaginal two-dimensional ultrasound and three-dimensional ultrasound volume imaging (3DVI) technology for intrauterine adhesions. Methods:A total of 120 suspected patients with intrauterine adhesions admitted to Beijing Tongzhou District Maternal and Child Health Hospital from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects. All patients underwent transvaginal two-dimensional ultrasound and 3DVI technology examination, and the diagnostic value of vaginal two-dimensional ultrasound and 3DVI technology single examination and combined examination was compared based on the results of hysteroscopy examination as the gold standard; Comparison of ultrasound parameters between the intrauterine adhesions group and the non intrauterine adhesions group, as well as patients with different degrees of intrauterine adhesions [endometrial thickness (ED), endometrial volume (EV), vascular index (VI), blood flow index (FI), vascular comprehensive index (VFI)].Results:Among 120 suspected patients with intrauterine adhesions, 104 cases were positive in hysteroscopy examination, with a positive rate of 86.67%. Among them, 50 cases were mild, 36 cases were moderate, and 18 cases were severe. 76 cases were positive in vaginal two-dimensional ultrasound examination, with a positive rate of 63.33%; 79 cases were positive for 3DVI technology examination, with a positive rate of 65.83%; The combined examination results of vaginal two-dimensional ultrasound and 3DVI technology were positive in 87 cases, with a positive rate of 72.50%. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of vaginal two-dimensional ultrasound examination were 68.27%, 68.75%, 93.42%, and 25.00%, respectively. The 3DVI technique examination was 73.08%, 81.25%, 96.20%, and 31.71%, respectively. The combined examination was 83.65%, 100.00%, 100.00%, and 48.48%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of the combined examination were all higher than those of vaginal two-dimensional ultrasound examination (all P<0.05). 104 cases in the intrauterine adhesions group and 16 cases in the non intrauterine adhesions group; The ED, EV, VI, FI, and VFI of the intrauterine adhesions group were lower than those of the non intrauterine adhesions group (all P<0.05). The differences in ED, EV, and VI among patients with different degrees of intrauterine adhesions were statistically significant (all P<0.05); The ED, EV, and VI in the moderate group were lower than those in the mild group (all P<0.05), while the ED, EV, and VI in the severe group were lower than those in the mild and moderate groups (all P<0.05), and the FI was lower than those in the mild group ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Transvaginal two-dimensional ultrasound combined with 3DVI technology has high diagnostic value for intrauterine adhesions and can be used to evaluate the degree of intrauterine adhesions.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the dosimetric effect of three-dimensional(3D)printed headrests made of different materials in radiotherapy for head and neck tumor, and to evaluate whether the existence of customized 3D-printed headrest can be neglected during planning phase by comparing differences in target area doses, homogeneity index(HI),conformity index(CI),monitor units(MU),and organ-at-risk(OAR)dose.Methods Ten patients with head and neck tumors, including 5 cases with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and 5 with other head and neck tumors, were enrolled. The headrest contours were outlined using Monaco treatment planning system, and with the same calculation parameters, treatment plans were generated for scenarios without a headrest, with a standard headrest, and with 3D-printed headrests made of 10%filled polylactic acid and thermoplastic polyurethane. The target area doses,OAR dose,MU,and other results were recorded and subjected to statistical analysis. Results No significant differences were observed among the 4 groups(ignoring headrest, standard headrest,3D-printed headrests with 10%filled polylactic acid and thermoplastic polyurethane)in parameters such as D95,D5,Dmean,HI,CI,MU,and OAR dose(the maximum dose to the spinal cord)(P>0.05).Considering the presence of the headrest, significant differences were found in CI for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and other head and neck tumors(P<0.05).Conclusion During the planning phase, the existence of customized 3D-printed headrest can be ignored, but it should be noted that the presence of a headrest may reduce the MU in radiotherapy plans. When considering the headrest, the average CI of patients with other head and neck tumors is significantly higher than that with nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

RESUMO

A system for achieving two-dimensional(2D)visualization and three-dimensional(3D)reconstruction of lung images using CT data is designed. After DICOM image processing, and lung nodule segmentation and labeling, the multi-view and multi-resolution 3D display of lung parenchyma and nodules is realized using techniques such as resampling of CT sequences,3D reconstruction based on surface rendering, and morphological processing. Finally, the interactive interface is designed for implementing the functions of image enhancement,2D visualization, nodule delineation,3D reconstructions of lung parenchyma and nodules, rotation, zooming and switching the viewpoint.Experimental results show that the system provides clear and accurate 2D image visualization and lesion delineation, while reconstructing nodules in the generated 3D images completely and smoothly.Compared with the existing similar medical processing software, the developed system substantially improves the reconstruction and visualization efficiencies, enabling doctors to observe 3D images more quickly and accurately, and assisting in disease diagnosis and surgical planning.
