Analysis of clinical efficacy of Toric intraocular lens guided by corneal topography / 国际眼科杂志(Guoji Yanke Zazhi)

@#AIM:To investigate the function of Pentacam in accurately selecting the model and axial position of Toric artificial lens. <p>METHODS: Totally 53 eyes of 46 cataract patients who were scheduled to receive phacoemulsification from January 2018 to December 2018 were selected in our hospital. Before the operation, corneal astigmatism was greater than 1.0D according to the examination results by AL-Scan and automatic corneal curvature instrument, and Pentacam was used to evaluate the corneal astigmatism to guide the accurate selection of Toric IOL model and the axial position to be implanted. Surgery was done by the same doctor. After operation, the patients were traced and visited for 3mo to collect the uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA), the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA), the whole-eye astigmatism, the corneal curvature and target induced astigmatism(TIA)before and after the operation as well as the postoperative astigmatism, the rate not relying on the glasses, visual quality assessment and so on. <p>RESULTS: There was no obvious change on patients' corneal astigmatism before and after the operation. The whole-eye astigmatism was reduced and UCVA and BCVA were obviously improved. The difference was statistically meaningful(<i>P</i><0.05). The postoperative residual astigmatism and TIA were statistically tested, and the results showed no statistical significance(<i>P</i>>0.05). The rate of distant vision defecation and visual quality were significantly improved. <p>CONCLUSION: Pentacam can evaluate the corneal astigmatism more comprehensively and accurately, which is helpful to guide the accurate selection of Toric artificial lens model, and to improve the postoperative expected effect.

Prevalence and influencing factors of myopia for the Chinese junior high school students / 中华疾病控制杂志

Objective To analyze the mechanism of the influencing factors of myopia for junior high school students in China. Methods Based on the follow-up to 7 119 students in the 3 waves of questionnaire survey of the Chinese Education Panel Survey in junior high school stage, and the variables on students’ myopia status, myopia influencing factors, and two kinds of risk behaviors of myopia including near visual activities and outdoor activities, the mediation effects of the myopia risk behaviors were tested by Logistic regression model. Results The myopia prevalence of 9th graders before junior high school graduation was 66.36%. Time on writing homework significantly increased the risk of myopia，the odds ratio (OR) was 1.17，the 95% confidence interval (CI) was 1.13-1.21, and the time on outdoor sports significantly decreased the risk of myopia (OR=0.80，95% CI:0.75-0.86). Before and after including the risk behaviors into the model, the myopia risk OR(95% CI) of female centralized from 1.84(1.66-2.04) to 1.69(1.51-1.88), the myopia risk OR(95% CI) of urban students’centralized from 1.19(1.03-1.37) to 1.16(1.00-1.34), the myopia risk OR(95% CI) of only children’centralized from 1.20(1.06-1.36) to 1.18(1.04-1.33). With reference to not myopic for both parents, the myopia risk OR(95% CI) of students having one myopic parent centralized from 2.47(2.12-2.88) to 2.44(2.09-2.85), the myopia risk OR(95% CI) of students having parent without myopic centralized from 4.25(3.09-5.86) to 4.13(3.00-5.69). Conclusions Gender, urban and rural, only child, and myopic parents are influencing factors of myopia. These factors have effects on myopia via two kinds of risk behaviors including outdoor activities and near visual activities.

Superiority on visual quality of Phakic intraocular lens implantation in high myopic patients: compared with LARK / 中华实验眼科杂志

Phakic intraocular lens implantation(PIOL)is one of the primary surgery fashions for correcting high myopia.The evaluation of visual quality following the surgery,including visual activity,contrast sensitivity,aberration and corneal Q value,is very important.Researches showed that the visual quality of patients after tradition laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK)decreased because of the alteration of corneal aspherieity by laser excision cornea；while compared with LASIK,implantation of implantable contact lenses(ICL)is popular due to its excellent safety,effectiveness,reversibility and fewer complication.The visual quality after ICL is also superior than that of LASIK.Therein,the surgical project will furthermore be recommend for the high myopia patients.The purpose is to find the optimal strategy for the high myopia patients to get the best visual quality.
