Avaliação dos grupos educativos na assistência pré-natal em casa de parto / Evaluation of the educational groups in prenatal care at the birth center

RESUMO

A Casa de Parto é uma instituição pública de saúde no município do Rio de Janeiro, isolada do hospital, comunitária e que atende ao pré-natal, parto e pós-parto de mulheres com gestações de baixo risco obstétrico. As gestantes participam de grupos educativos durante o cuidado pré-natal. Com o objetivo de avaliar os grupos educativos na perspectiva das gestantes assistidas no pré-natal em casa de parto, foi realizado estudo quantitativo e descritivo, baseado na técnica da pesquisa de opinião. Quarenta e oito gestantes responderam ao questionário estruturado. Os dados receberam tratamento estatístico descritivo. As gestantes em acompanhamento pré-natal na Casa de Parto eram predominantemente mulheres jovens, nulíparas e que realizaram três ou mais grupos educativos. Elas consideraram que os grupos educativos são muito relevantes para o período pré-natal, o momento do parto e o cuidado materno ao recém-nascido. As mulheres avaliaram também que suas expectativas foram completamente atendidas, que a assistência pré-natal é ótima e os profissionais são atenciosos e cordiais.

ABSTRACT

The Birth Center is a public community health institution, separate from the hospital, in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, attending to prenatal care and providing support during labor, delivery, and postpartum for lowrisk pregnancies. The pregnant women participate in educational groups during prenatal care. With the objective of evaluating the educational groups from the perspective of the pregnant women in prenatal care provided at the Birth Center, a quantitative descriptive study was done based on the survey research technique. Forty-eight women answered a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed for descriptive statistics. Pregnant women in prenatal care at the Birth Center were predominantly young and nulliparous women who participated in three or more educational groups. They considered educational groups to be very relevant to the prenatal period, the delivery itself, and the maternal care to the newborn. The women also felt that their expectations were fully met, that the prenatal care was excellent, and that the professionals were attentive and friendly.
