ABSTRACT
This study aim is to evaluate the impact of lhe multidisciplinary treatment in the eating habits and anthropometric parameters. It is a clinic comparative essay of parallel groups, involving children and adolescents aged between 6 and 16 years, with overweight or obesity, treated by a multidisciplinary team (test-group, n= 22) and exclusively by nutritionists (control-group, = 22). The eating behavior was evaluated through a questionnaire of semi quantitative eating frequency (SQEF) at the beginning of the study and after 12 week intervention. At the start and once a month the weight, stature, abdominal circumference, hips and arms circumference were checked and the BMI was calculated. The test-group presented reduction proportionally higher for calories and macronutrients consume, but with no statistical relevance (p>0, 05). Both groups presented stature growth (p<0,001), however only the test-group had significant reduction of the BMI, of the abdominal, hips and arms circumferences (p>0,05). The multidisciplinary team treatment promotes significant change in the anthropometric measures and improvement of the eating patterns.
