Acupuncture Treatment for 60 Patients with Anxiety and Depression / 浙江中医药大学学报

ABSTRACT
[Objective] To observe the acupuncture correlation with the clinical curative effect of anxiety, depression and quality of life.[Methods] The 60 patients with tumor were randomly divided into acupuncture group and western medicine group, acupuncture group acupunctured Neiguan(P6), Taichong(Liv3),Yanglingquan(SP9) and other acupuncture points.The western medicine group was treated with Sertraline Hydrochloride tablets(Zoloft) and 2 groups were treated for 4 weeks consecutively. The changes in the quality of life of the two groups(QLQ-C30),Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA) and depression scale(HAMD) were observed. [Results]Two groups were compared with before treatment, HAMA and HAMD scores were significantly lower(P<0.05), and 4 weeks after treatment, western medicine improved the degree of anxiety depression and score of emotional function was significantly better than that of acupuncture group(P<0.05),but after the acupuncture treatment group 4 weeks fatigue, nausea and vomiting, insomnia, loss of appetite, role function and overall quality of life of individual score improved significantly better than western medicine group(P<0.05).[Conclusion]The clinical effect of acupuncture on improving tumor related anxiety and depression is not as good as the improvement of Western medicine, but it can help to improve the common symptoms of cancer patients and improve the quality of life, and can be used in clinical application.
