ABSTRACT
We report a 43 year-old man with a cavernoma at the foramen of Monro which was associated with a colloid syst and led to obstructive hydrocephalus. The patient presented with an 18-month history of episodic headache and he underwent a frontal craniotomy and transcortical-transventricular microsurgical removal of both lesions. The post-operative course was complicated by subdural collection and shunt-related problems that warranted several surgical procedures. The patient eventually made a satisfactory recovery with no sings of residual lesion. The association of cavernoma and colloid cyst at the foramen of Monro supports the developmental nature of the lesion
