Reconstrucción del ligamento patelofemoral medial (LPFM) con injerto autólogo de cuádriceps en niños y adolescentes / Medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction with autologous quadriceps tendon in children and adolescents

RESUMEN

El tratamiento de la inestabilidad recurrente de rótula ha evidenciado cambios significativos en los últimos años. El tratamiento histórico de esta patología con reconstrucciones no anatómicas, ha evolucionado hacia la utilización de la artroscopía, abordajes más pequeños y la introducción de la reconstrucción anatómica del LPFM. En este reporte describimos la técnica utilizada por el autor en pacientes menores de 18 años, y revisamos las técnicas reportadas previamente en la literatura en la población pediátrico-adolescente.

ABSTRACT

Treatment of recurrent patellar instability has evidenced significant changes in recent years. The historical treatment of this condition with non-anatomical reconstructions, has evolved to the use of arthroscopy, smaller approaches and the introduction of anatomic reconstruction of LPFM. In this report we describe the technique used by the author in patients under 18, and we review the techniques previously reported in the literature in the pediatric-adolescent population.
