RESUMEN

La presente guía de práctica clínica es el resultado del esfuerzo articulado de los profesionales del Sistema Nacional Integrado de Salud (SNIS), coordinado por el Instituto Nacional de Salud (INS) y el apoyo metodológico de OPS/OMS, con el objetivo de proveer una herramienta de utilidad a los prestadores de los servicios de salud y a las pacientes sobre el tamizaje, detección y tratamiento de lesiones precancerosas del cuello uterino. Si estas no se tratan de manera oportuna pueden desencadenar en cáncer de cérvix, siendo uno de los canceres más frecuentes a pesar que se puede detectar en los programas de prevención regulares de la mujer

ABSTRACT

This clinical practice guide is the result of the coordinated effort of professionals from the National Integrated Health System (NHIS), coordinated by the National Institute of Health (INS) and the methodological support of PAHO/WHO, with the aim of providing a useful tool to health service providers and patients on screening, detection and treatment of precancerous lesions of the cervix. If not treated in a timely manner they can trigger cervical cancer, being one of the most common cancers although it can be detected in women's regular prevention programs
