Objective:
To analyze the profile of platelets aggregation in diabetic patients, linking the results with usedmedications, age, sex and comorbidities.Method:
observational and retrospective study of cases, with the collectionof platelet aggregation test of 544 diabetic patients. The data were extracted from virtual handbooks in a particularlaboratory of clinical analyses in Belem-PA in the period of July 2007 to July of 2008. The statistical inference wasstudied through test ofhypothesis:
Qui-square test.Results:
Between diabetics patients who use platelet aggregationinhibitors drugs and/or anticoagulant drugs, were observed, about the platelet aggregation test 40,6% with intensehipoaggregation test; 55,81% with hipoaggegation test and 4,65% with normoaggregation test. In non users,60,9% had hipoaggregation test, 26,2% had intense hipoaggregation test, 8,5% normoaggregation test and 4,4%hiperaggregation test. Statistical signification happened (p=0,0093) between the use of related medications and theintensity of hipoaggregation in studied population. Conclusion:
Based on clinical evidences, platelet aggregationinhibitors drugs and/or anticoagulant drugs must be used for primary and secondary preventive treatment for thediabetic patients. As soon as, this is a population with higher cardiovascular risk. It is still alerted for the necessity ofdriving scientific works aiming to elucidate the real mechanisms of platelet hyperreactivity in diabetics.
