ABSTRACT
Science advances at a dizzying pace and professional musical training is not exempt from its contributions and challenges. The new methods and means of teaching are not opposed to the traditional ones, but rather add to these the advantages offered by the new information and communication technologies. It is known that education and music have developed considerably since the new technologies began to relate to them; For this reason, it becomes necessary to incorporate studies on its impact on university musical training. The present investigation was carried out during the period 2017-2018, before the current COVID-19 pandemic, carrying out an analysis of the state in the training of music students at the Santiago de Guayaquil Catholic University, in Ecuador, and its relationship with the information and communication technologies (ICT).
