ABSTRACT
Digital transformation has emerged as an essential component of hospitality industry development in conditions of market recession caused by intensive pandemic expansion. Despite the crucial negative consequences of early 2020 pandemic, there is a data analyzed in this paper, which testifies that COVID-19 was some sort of a driver that forced companies of hospitality industry to develop more actively, that likely would not have happened in regular conditions. More interestingly, the positive impact of the recent COVID-19 spread is being observed worldwide in terms of ability of hospitality businesses to adapt and overcome restrictions, limitations, tourist flow decline and become digitalized. An important role of innovative development of markets for the service and hospitality industry is determined in this paper as a key driver of an economic development. Data used in this paper is open source and is available for public access. The result findings and implications of this paper are of interest to both academic and professional purposes. © 2021 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
