ABSTRACT
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a complex and atypical situation at all levels for the entire world, and for Latin America in particular, in the field of higher education. Quickly, almost without realizing it, the pandemic transformed the teaching of our universities, from models strongly anchored in the transmitting conception of training and in the teaching-student face-to-face, to a situation that we cannot consider as a model - nor a model one -, where learning would be strongly mediated through technology. In this article, a theoretical reflection is carried out on the scourges of the higher education education system produced by the Covid-19, analyzing issues such as the social imaginary of virtual distance training, inequalities and digital gaps in access to technologies, or the lack of training and development of digital skills for teachers and students in a situation such as Covid-19.
