ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To prepare Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the artificial breeding technology of Poecilobdella manillensi. METHODS: The environment of producing area and breeding technology, the control of diseases, reserving seeds for breeding, harvesting and processing, the standard of the product quality and supervision for the standardization breeding of Poecilobdella Manillensis was studied. RESULTS: The average yield of vital specimen of Poecilobdella Manillensis was 420.88 kg/mu, the natural hirudin in 1kg of the living specimen of Poecilobdella Manillensis contained 430,000 AT-U, and the quality index and hygienic standard of all products complied with the regulations and standards of the State. CONCLUSION: SOP is applicable for the breeding of Poecilobdella manillensi for Guangxi district.

ABSTRACT

Nature of Chinese materia medica is the nucleus in the theory of Chinese material medica, according to the recognition of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is the character of the drug related on curative effect. Nature and efficacy of a drug is through the medical material, then, physical environment, including the temperature, humidity, atmospheric water, wind, topography, soil, micro-organism, and so on, influence the growth and development of the medical meterial. In this paper, we researched the explanation on nature of Chinese materia medica in the medical books of past dynasties, combined with the modem research, analyzed the relationship between generative reception and physical environmental factors, and discussed the effect of physical environmental factors on nature of Chinese materia medica. We indicated that the formation of Chinese materia medical nature is that the drug receptive the change of physical environmental factors, and resulted by the synthetic action of the factors, such as climate, soil, biology, topography, etc.

ABSTRACT

Marcus Barros talks about how tropical diseases influenced his decision to study medicine. He tells a number of stories about his family, which moved from Alto Juruá to Manaus to escape malaria and other fevers. He says it is essential to adopt homeopathy, acupuncture, and other indigenous knowledge and practices in treating disease. Barros also talks about measures taken when he was president of Brazil's national environmental institute, Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama)--all part of an effort to prevent and combat these diseases and halt deforestation and burn-offs.

ABSTRACT

In this paper, application of biotechnics in the identification of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, and the production and cultivation of their excellent species was discussed, and the relevant references about usage of biotechnics in TCM researches published in recent decade were summarized and analysed. Lots of literature showed that biotechnics played important roles in the quality identification of Chinese medicinal herbs and the researches on new drugs of TCM.

ABSTRACT

Biological reactions occur regularly at the right time, on the right place and in the right quantity. How does this biological order work? Mechanicistics and vitalists fail to explain it and holism is an alternative that misses the very point. Our investigation is restricted to the relation between the organism and its specific environment, stressing their mutual penetration, common to twins. The twin organisms/environment in organisms as a whole, in the cellular environment of DNA and around the biological clock.

ABSTRACT

There have been four larger populations of wild water deer (Hydropotes inermis) in China, but all the populations lie in the endangered status. Most of populations are very small, and their distrbution ranges have already been broken up into many isolated patches. Furthermore, their habitats have been deteriorating. So it is very necessary to enhance the protection of habitat in the first place. Some endangered and small populations of wild water deer can be saved by inflows of domestic health deer. It is a valid way between conservation and utilization.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
