RESUMEN

The authors describe an outbreak of food poisoning caused by Bac. cereus embracing 80% of persons who catered at the same catering establishment. The poisoning occurred in the course of 15 hours after the moment of eating a sauce stored in warm place. In the majority of cases the course of the disease was mild; 77.8% of the patients displayed phenomena of enteritis, 20.2%--of entercolitis, and 2.0%--of gastroenterocolitis. All the patients recovered without any treatment in the course of 1--2 days.

RESUMEN

Modern drug therapy failed to reduce the number of unfavourable outcomes in acute pneumonia. Therefore study of the host responsiveness which plays a crucial role in the course and outcome of pneumonia is showing promise. Disturbed homeostasis, endogenous intoxication, bacteremia and, as a consequence, secondary immunodeficiency make it necessary to look for new treatment methods. The authors suggest the use of plasmapheresis in combined therapy of acute pneumonia running its course in association with pronounced intoxication because of deranged immunity. In emergency cases, the use of intermittent plasmapheresis that requires minimal time for preparation and unsophisticated equipment appears the most acceptable.

RESUMEN

In experiments set up on rats the dynamics of furazolidone concentration in the organism on its introduction into the stomach in possible combinations with prednisolone and butadion was studied. As evidenced, when in combination with the said drugs the blood furazolidone concentration enhances quite significantly, this being especially ostensible in cases of simultaneous introduction of prednisolone and butadion, mainly because of a delayed elimination of furazolidone with urine. No correlation between the furazolidone concentration dynamics in the gastro-intestinal tract and in the blood was noted.
