RESUMEN

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a life-threatening disease requiring reliable early diagnosis. We assessed the acceptability and diagnostic performances of two rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) to identify SCD (HbSS, HbSC, HbS/ß-thalassaemia) or SCD carrier (HbS/HbC) in a pilot SCD newborn screening (NBS) strategy in Mali. All consenting delivering women were offered SCD NBS using cord blood sampling on two RDTs (SickleScan® and HemotypeSC®) compared to the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) gold standard to detect SCD states. From April 2021 to August 2021, 4333 delivering women were eligible of whom 96.1% were offered NBS: 1.6% refused, 13.8% delivered before consenting and 84.6% consented; 3648 newborns were diagnosed by HPLC; 1.64% had SCD (0.63% HbSS, 0.85% HbSC, 0.16 HbS/ß-plus-thalassaemia); 21.79% were SCD carrier. To detect accurately SCD, SickleScan® had a sensitivity of 81.67% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 71.88-91.46) and a negative predictive value (NPV) of 99.69% (95% CI: 99.51-99.87); HemotypeSC® had a sensitivity of 78.33% (95% CI: 67.91-88.76) and a NPV of 99.64% (95% CI: 99.44-99.83). To detect SCD carrier: SickleScan® sensitivity was 96.10% (95% CI: 94.75-97.45) and NPV, 98.90% (95% CI: 98.51-99.29); HemotypeSC® sensitivity was 95.22% (95% CI: 93.74-96.70) and NPV, 98.66% (95% CI: 98.24-99.03). Routine SCD NBS was acceptable. Compared with HPLC, both RDTs had reliable diagnostic performances to exclude SCD-free newborns and to identify SCD carriers to be further confirmed. This strategy could be implemented in large-scale NBS programmes.

All-solid-state fluoride ion batteries (ASSFIBs) show remarkable potential as energy storage devices due to their low cost, superior safety, and high energy density. However, the poor ionic conductivity of F- conductor, large volume expansion, and the lack of a suitable anode inhibit their development. In this work, PbSnF4 solid electrolytes in different phases (ß- and γ-PbSnF4) are successfully synthesized and characterized. The ASSFIBs composed of ß-PbSnF4 electrolytes, a BiF3 cathode, and micrometer/nanometer size (µ-/n-) Sn anodes, exhibit substantial capacities. Compared to the µ-Sn anode, the n-Sn anode with nanostructure exhibits superior battery performance in the BiF3/ß-PbSnF4/Sn battery. The optimized battery delivers a high initial discharge capacity of 181.3 mAh g-1 at 8 mA g-1 and can be reversibly cycled at 40 mA g-1 with a high discharge capacity of over 100.0 mAh g-1 after 120 cycles at room temperature. Additionally, it displays high discharge capacities over 90.0 mAh g-1 with excellent cyclability over 100 cycles under -20 °C. Detailed characterization has confirmed that reducing Sn particle size and boosting external pressure are crucial for achieving good defluorination/fluorination behaviors in the Sn anode. These findings pave the way to designing ASSFIBs with high capacities and superior cyclability under different operating temperatures.

The FeOOH/Zn(OH)2/CoS (FZC) nanocomposites are synthesized and show the outstanding electrochemical properties in both supercapacitor and catalytic hydrogen production. The specific area capacitance reaches 17.04 F cm-2, which is more than ten times higher than that of FeOOH/Zn(OH)2 (FZ) substrate: 1.58 F cm-2). FZC nanocomposites also exhibit the excellent cycling stability with an initial capacity retention rate of 93.6% after 10 000 long-term cycles. The electrolytic cell (FZC//FZC) assembled with FZC as both anode and cathode in the UOR (urea oxidation reaction)|| HER (hydrogen evolution reaction) coupled system requires a cell voltage of only 1.453 V to drive a current density of 10 mA cm-2. Especially, the electrochemical performances of FZC nanocomposites are enhanced in magnetic field, and the mechanism is proposed based on Stern double layer model at electrode-electrolyte interface (EEI). More electrolyte ions reach the surface of FZC electrode material under Kelvin force, moreover, the warburg impedance of FZC nanocomposites decrease under magnetic field action, which results in the enhanced behaviors for both the energy storage and urea oxidation reaction .

LiNO3 has attracted intensive attention as a promising electrolyte additive to regulate Li deposition behavior as it can form favorable Li3N, LiNxOy species to improve the interfacial stability. However, the inferior solubility in carbonate-based electrolyte restricts its application in high-voltage Li metal batteries. Herein, an artificial composite layer (referred to as PML) composed of LiNO3 and PMMA is rationally designed on Li surface. The PML layer serves as a reservoir for LiNO3 release gradually to the electrolyte during cycling, guaranteeing the stability of SEI layer for uniform Li deposition. The PMMA matrix not only links the nitrogen-containing species for uniform ionic conductivity but also can be coordinated with Li for rapid Li ions migration, resulting in homogenous Li-ion flux and dendrite-free morphology. As a result, stable and dendrite-free plating/stripping behaviors of Li metal anodes are achieved even at an ultrahigh current density of 20 mA cm-2 (>570 h) and large areal capacity of 10 mAh cm-2 (>1200 h). Moreover, the Li||LiFePO4 full cell using PML-Li anode undergoes stable cycling for 2000 cycles with high-capacity retention of 94.8%. This facile strategy will widen the potential application of LiNO3 in carbonate-based electrolyte for practical LMBs.

OBJECTIVE: Symptom clustering research provides a unique opportunity for understanding complex medical conditions. The objective of this study was to apply a variable-centered analytic approach to understand how symptoms may cluster together, within and across domains of functioning in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia, to better understand these conditions and potential etiological, prevention, and intervention considerations. METHOD: Cognitive, motor, sensory, emotional, and social measures from the NIH Toolbox were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) from a dataset of 165 individuals with a research diagnosis of either amnestic MCI or dementia of the Alzheimer's type. RESULTS: The six-factor EFA solution described here primarily replicated the intended structure of the NIH Toolbox with a few deviations, notably sensory and motor scores loading onto factors with measures of cognition, emotional, and social health. These findings suggest the presence of cross-domain symptom clusters in these populations. In particular, negative affect, stress, loneliness, and pain formed one unique symptom cluster that bridged the NIH Toolbox domains of physical, social, and emotional health. Olfaction and dexterity formed a second unique cluster with measures of executive functioning, working memory, episodic memory, and processing speed. A third novel cluster was detected for mobility, strength, and vision, which was considered to reflect a physical functioning factor. Somewhat unexpectedly, the hearing test included did not load strongly onto any factor. CONCLUSION: This research presents a preliminary effort to detect symptom clusters in amnestic MCI and dementia using an existing dataset of outcome measures from the NIH Toolbox.

OBJECTIVES: The quantification of functional C1 inhibitor activity (fC1-INH) is an important tool to diagnose bradykinin-mediated angioedema (AE), whether hereditary or acquired. For that an accurate assay is necessary, therefore we evaluated the analytical performances of a fC1-INH chromogenic assay (Berichrom®, Siemens) performed utilizing an Optilite turbidimeter (Binding Site). METHODS: fC1-INH was quantified by means of the chromogenic assay Berichrom®. Internal quality controls were used to determine the precision of the assay. Stability under various storage and matrix conditions, uncertainty, linearity, interference (of hemolysis, lipemia, and icterus), agreement with the manual Technochrom® assay, and diagnostic performances were further evaluated on samples from patients and healthy donors. RESULTS: The fC1-INH Berichrom® assay presented good performances regarding intra- and inter-assay precision (CV: 1.3-4.5 % and 3.0-6.0 %, respectively), expanded uncertainty (5.5 % at normal level and 12.5 % at the clinical threshold) and linearity (rho2>0.99: range 7-130 % activity). Addition of interfering substances (hemoglobin <16 g/L, intralipid® <12 g/L, and bilirubin <1 g/L) did not affect fC1-INH quantification. fC1-INH activity from healthy donors remained stable in citrate whole blood until 4 days at room temperature, and 7 days when plasma was collected. Agreement between the automated Berichrom® assay and the manual Technochrom® assay (n=47) was excellent as obtained with both quantitative (Deming regression and Bland-Altman difference plot) and qualitative (Kappa index=1) analyses. Finally, the diagnostic performance of the quantification of fC1-INH for AE evaluated on 81 patients revealed a sensitivity of 100 %, a specificity of 97.2 %, a positive predictive value of 83.3 % and a negative predictive value of 100 %. CONCLUSIONS: The automated fC1-INH Berichrom® assay showed good performance, both at the analytical and diagnostic/clinical levels that allowed its usage in a clinical laboratory for C1-INH-dependent bradykinin-mediated AE research in combination with quantitative C1-INH and C4 determinations.

BACKGROUND: Inflammatory myopathy and perivasculitis have been recently described in horses with chronic equine piroplasmosis (EP). These alterations may be linked to poor performances. The aims of this study were to evaluate the prevalence for EP in clinically healthy Italian Standardbred (IS) racehorses and to compare laboratory parameters and performance metrics between positive and negative horses. Real-time PCR was applied for the detection of T. equi and B. caballi positivity. Haematology parameters, blood chemistry results, subjective muscle mass scores, and performance metrics were compared between PCR-positive and -negative horses. RESULTS: This cross-sectional study included 120 well-trained IS racehorses and was performed over a two-years period. The prevalence of T. equi was 36.3%, whereas all samples were negative for B. caballi. Red blood cells count, haemoglobin concentration, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, and gamma-glutamyl transferase activities were significantly higher in PCR-positive horses, whereas blood urea nitrogen, globulin concentration and globulin-to-albumin ratio were significantly lower in PCR-positive horses compared to PCR-negative ones. Nonetheless, all values fell within the physiological range. The best racing time, which was selected as the most representative of the performance metrics at the principal component analysis, was not affected by PCR positivity, the muscle mass score or the training yard. The best racing time was significantly better in horses with a mild or no signs of muscular atrophy, within the PCR-positive group. The muscle mass score was associated with the training yard in PCR-negative horses. CONCLUSIONS: Prevalence of T. equi was high in IS racehorses in southern Italy. The absence of obvious changes in haematological and biochemical parameters, as well as performance metrics in positive horses, highlights the need for specific diagnostic tests to identify chronically infected horses.

BACKGROUND: The major concern in patients who have suffered from cardiac arrest (CA) and undergone successful extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (E-CPR) is poor neurological outcomes. In this study, we aimed to introduce a rat model of selective brain perfusion (SBP) during E-CPR to improve the neurological outcome after CA. METHODS: The rats underwent 7 min of untreated asphyxial CA and then were resuscitated with E-CPR for 30 min. The right external jugular vein and right femoral artery were separately cannulated to the E-CPR outflow and inflow. The right common carotid artery was cannulated from the proximal to the distal side for SBP. Subsequently, rats were removed from E-CPR, wounds were closed, and 90 min of intensive care were provided. Neurological deficit scores were tested after 4 h of recovery when the rats were mechanical ventilation-free. S100 calcium-binding protein B (S100B) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) were detected through immunohistochemistry (IHC) of brain tissue. RESULTS: The rats that received SBP while resuscitated by E-CPR showed markedly better neurological performances after 4-h recovery than those resuscitated by E-CPR only. The IHC staining of GFAP and S100B in the hippocampus was low in the rats receiving SBP during E-CPR, but only GFAP showed significant differences. CONCLUSIONS: We successfully developed a novel and reproducible rat model of SBP while resuscitated by E-CPR to ameliorate the neurological performances after CA. This achievement might have opportunities for studying how to improve the neurological outcome in the clinical condition.

Manual therapy (MT) is commonly used in rehabilitation to deal with motor impairments in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, is MT an efficient method to improve gait in PD? To answer the question, a systematic review of clinical controlled trials was conducted. Estimates of effect sizes (reported as standard mean difference (SMD)) with their respective 95% confidence interval (95% CI) were reported for each outcome when sufficient data were available. If data were lacking, p values were reported. The PEDro scale was used for the quality assessment. Three studies were included in the review. MT improved Dynamic Gait Index (SMD = 1.47; 95% CI: 0.62, 2.32; PEDro score: 5/10, moderate level of evidence). MT also improved gait performances in terms of stride length, velocity of arm movements, linear velocities of the shoulder and the hip (p < 0.05; PEDro score: 2/10, limited level of evidence). There was no significant difference between groups after MT for any joint's range of motion during gait (p > 0.05; PEDro score: 6/10, moderate level of evidence). There is no strong level of evidence supporting the beneficial effect of MT to improve gait in PD. Further randomized controlled trials are needed to understand the impact of MT on gait in PD.

RESUMEN

A review of the state of research in the development of conductometric gas sensors based on II-VI semiconductors is given. It was shown that II-VI compounds indeed have properties that are necessary for the development of highly efficient gas sensors. In this case, to achieve the required parameters, all approaches developed for metal oxides can be used. At the same time, during a detailed review, it was concluded that sensors based on II-VI compounds have no prospects for appearing on the gas sensor market. The main obstacle is the instability of the surface state, which leads to poor reproducibility of parameters and drift of sensor characteristics during operation.

Two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors such as monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) are promising building blocks for ultrascaled field effect transistors (FETs), benefiting from their atomic thickness, dangling-bond-free flat surface, and excellent gate controllability. However, despite great prospects, the fabrication of 2D ultrashort channel FETs with high performance and uniformity remains a challenge. Here, we report a self-encapsulated heterostructure undercut technique for the fabrication of sub-10 nm channel length MoS2 FETs. The fabricated 9 nm channel MoS2 FETs exhibit superior performances compared with sub-15 nm channel length including the competitive on-state current density of 734/433 µA/µm at VDS = 2/1 V, record-low DIBL of ∼50 mV/V, and superior on/off ratio of 3 × 107 and low subthreshold swing of ∼100 mV/dec. Furthermore, the ultrashort channel MoS2 FETs fabricated by this new technique show excellent homogeneity. Thanks to this, we scale the monolayer inverter down to sub-10 nm channel length.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of different functional stabilizers on in vitro/in vivo drug performances after oral administration of drug nanocrystals. Quercetin nanocrystals (QT-NCs) respectively stabilized by five types of functional stabilizers, including hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose E15 (HPMC E15), poloxamer 407 (P407), poloxamer 188 (P188), D-α-tocopherol polyethylene glycol succinate (TPGS), and glycyrrhizin acid (GL), were fabricated by wet media milling technique. The particle size, morphology, physical state, drug solubility, drug dissolution in vitro, and orally pharmacokinetic behaviors of all QT-NCs were investigated. All QT-NCs with similar particle size about 200 nm were obtained by controlling milling speed and milling time. No significant differences in particles shape and crystalline nature were found for QT-NCs stabilized by different functional stabilizers. But the solubility and dissolution of QT-NCs were significantly influenced by the different functional stabilizers. The AUC0∼t of all QT-NCs after oral administration was in the following order: QT-NCs/P188 ≈ QT-NCs/HPMC E15 > QT-NCs/GL > QT-NCs/P407 ≈ QT-NCs/TPGS, and the Cmax showed an order of QT-NCs/P407 > QT-NCs/P188 ≈ QT-NCs/GL > QT-NCs/HPMC E15 > QT-NCs/TPGS. Both of QT-NCs/P407 and QT-NCs/TPGS exhibited faster oral absorption with Tmax at 0.5 h and 0.83 h, respectively, while the other three QT-NCs (QT-NCs/P188, QT-NCs/GL and QT-NCs/HPMC E15) showed a relatively slow absorption with same Tmax at 5.33 h. The longest MRT0∼t (11.72 h) and t1/2z (32.22 h) were observed for QT-NCs/HPMC E15. These results suggested that the different functional stabilizers could significantly influence on drug solubility, drug dissolution in vitro and orally pharmacokinetic behavior of QT-NCs, and it is possible to alter the drug dissolution in vitro, oral absorption and drug retention in vivo by changing the type of functional stabilizers in NCs preparation.

BACKGROUND: The traditional removal of mandibular anterior teeth has been existing for many years in the Sub-Saharan African countries. This study aimed to assess the prevalence and sociodemographic distribution of traditionally removed mandibular central incisors (TRMCI) and its association with oral impact on daily performance (OIDP) among adolescents in Maasai populated areas in the Northern part of Tanzania. METHODS: Using a two-stage cluster sample design, with schools as the primary sampling unit, 23 out of 66 eligible rural schools were randomly selected. From each selected school, one class, expected to contain adolescents aged 12-14 years, was identified. The students from these selected classes were invited to participate in the study. A total of 989 adolescents were invited and 906 (91.6%) accepted to participate and completed both an interview and a clinical oral examination. RESULTS: Mean age was 13.4 years (12-17 years, SD 1.2) and 43.9% were males (n = 398). The participants from Longido district amounted to 47.1%. The Maasai group constituted 79.6% of the study participants. The frequency of the participants missing at least one mandibular central incisor were 18.5%. Multivariable logistic regression revealed that adolescents from Longido district were more likely to report at least one TRMCI (OR = 2.5, 95% CI 1.4-3.3). Adolescents from non-Maasai group were less likely to have atleast one TRMCI compared to adolescents from Maasai ethnic group (OR = 0.02, 95% CI 0.002-0.15). Adolescents with at least one TRMCI were more likely to report impacts on OIDP (OR = 3.3, 95% CI 1.9-5.7) than those without TRMCI. Independent of the TRMCI status, adolescents from Longido district were less likely than their counterparts to report oral impacts (OR = 0.4, 95% CI 0.2-0.6). Similarly, adolescents from non-Masaai group were more likely than their counterparts to report oral impacts (OR = 2.2, 95% CI 1.4-3.5). CONCLUSION: TRMCI is common among adolescents in the Maasai populated areas in the Northern part of Tanzania and strongly associated with the district of residence and Maasai ethnicity and has a negative impact on oral health related quality of life. There is a need for oral health education in the rural Maasai communities in Tanzania to increase awareness of the negative consequences of this practice.

OBJECTIVE: The diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is based on the DSM-V criteria and is established by a clinician. This allows quantifying depression based on clinical criteria. As such, MDD differs from other types of depressions that are measured by subjective scales. Here, we evaluated the MDD risk factor on other neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) as well as MDD association with cognitive performance in Alzheimer's disease (AD), Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Healthy Controls (HC). METHODS: Data of 208 patients with AD, 291 patients with MCI and 647 HC were extracted from the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center database. All participants included in this study were assessed by a physician for the MDD criteria, underwent an NPS evaluation using the NeuroPsychiatric Inventory, and a comprehensive cognitive assessment. Participants were classified as being with and without MDD. We performed logistic regression and MANCOVA models respectively with NPS and cognitive performance as variables of interest and MDD as fixed factors within each group. The MANCOVA was controlled for the effects of age, sex, and education. RESULTS: MDD increased the risk for psychotic, affective and behavioral NPS in MCI, as well as affective and behavioral NPS in HC and AD. Also, MCI with MDD had lower performance on selective attention and mental flexibility. CONCLUSIONS: MDD seems to increase the probability of a prevalence of NPS in all groups (HC, MCI and AD). Longitudinal data processing would help to understand the neuropsychiatric evolution of elderly subjects with MDD.

The closed pores play a critical role in improving the sodium storage capacity of hard carbon (HC) anode, however, their formation mechanism as well as the efficient modulation strategy at molecular level in the polymer-derived HCs is still lacking. In this work, the steric hindrance effect has been proposed to create closed pores in the polymer-derived HCs for the first time through grafting the aromatic rings within and between the main chains in the precursor. The experimental data and theoretical calculation demonstrate that steric-hindrance effect from the aromatic ring side group can increase backbone rigidity and the internal free volumes in the polymer precursor, which can prevent the over graphitization and facilitate the formation of closed pores during the carbonization process. As a result, the as-prepared HC anode exhibits a remarkably enhanced discharge capacity of 340.3 mAh/g at 0.1 C, improved rate performance (210.7 mAh/g at 5 C) as well as boosted cycling stability (86.4% over 1000 cycles at 2C). This work provides a new insight into the formation mechanisms of closed pores via steric hindrance engineering, which can shed light on the development of high-performance polymer-derived HC anode for sodium-ion batteries.

RESUMEN

SnTe, emerging as an environment-friendly alternative to conventional PbTe thermoelectrics, has drawn significant attention for clean energy conversion. Here, a high peak figure of merit (ZT) of 1.45 at 873 K in Ge/Bi codoped SnTe-AgBiTe2 alloys is reported. It is demonstrated that the existence of Ge, Bi, and Ag facilitate band convergence in SnTe, resulting in remarkable enhancement of Seebeck coefficient and power factor. Simultaneously, localized lattice imperfections including dislocations, point defects, and micro/nanopore structures are caused by incorporation of Ge, Bi, and Ag, which can effectively scatter heat carrying phonons with different wavelengths and contribute to an extremely low κL of 0.61 W m-1  K-1 in Sn0.92 Ge0.04 Bi0.04 Te-10%AgBiTe2 . Such high peak ZT is achieved by decouples electron and phonon transport through band modification and localized lattice engineering, highlighting promising solutions for advancing thermoelectrics.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) have attracted the attention of researchers because of their high theoretical capacity and safety. Among the many vanadium-based AZIB cathode materials, zinc vanadate is of great interest as a typical phase in the dis-/charge process. Here, a remarkable method to improve the utilization rate of zinc vanadate cathode materials is reported. In situ growth of Zn2 (V3 O8 )2 on carbon cloth (CC) as the cathode material (ZVO@CC) of AZIBs. Compared with the Zn2 (V3 O8 )2 cathode material bonded on titanium foil (ZVO@Ti), the specific capacity increases from 300 to 420 mAh g-1 , and the utilization rate of the material increases from 69.60% to 99.2%. After the flexible device is prepared, it shows the appropriate specific capacity (268.4 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1 ) and high safety. The method proposed in this work improves the material utilization rate and enhances the energy density of AZIB and also has a certain reference for the other electrochemical energy storage devices.

The charge recombination resulting from bulk defects and interfacial energy level mismatch hinders the improvement of the power conversion efficiency (PCE) and stability of carbon-based inorganic perovskite solar cells (C-IPSCs). Herein, a series of small molecules including ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and its derivatives (EDTA-Na and EDTA-K) are studied to functionalize the zinc oxide (ZnO) interlayers at the SnO2 /CsPbI2 Br buried interface to boost the photovoltaic performance of low-temperature C-IPSCs. This strategy can simultaneously passivate defects in ZnO and perovskite films, adjust interfacial energy level alignment, and release interfacial tensile stress, thereby improving interfacial contact, inhibiting ion migration, alleviating charge recombination, and promoting electron transport. As a result, a maximum PCE of 13.94% with a negligible hysteresis effect is obtained, which is one of the best results reported for low-temperature CsPbI2 Br C-IPSCs so far. Moreover, the optimized devices without encapsulation demonstrate greatly improved operational stability.

The Ti3 C2 Tx film with metallic conductivity and high pseudo-capacitance holds profound promise in flexible high-rate supercapacitors. However, the restacking of Ti3 C2 Tx sheets hinders ion access to thick film electrodes. Herein, a mild yet green route has been developed to partially oxidize Ti3 C2 Tx to TiO2 /Ti3 C2 Tx by introducing O2  molecules during refluxing the Ti3 C2 Tx suspension. The subsequent etching away of these TiO2  nanoparticles by HF leaves behind numerous in-plane nanopores on the Ti3 C2 Tx sheets. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy shows that longer oxidation time of 40 min yields holey Ti3 C2 Tx (H-Ti3 C2 Tx ) with a much shorter relax time constant of 0.85 s at electrode thickness of 25 µm, which is 89 times smaller than that of the pristineTi3 C2 Tx film (75.58 s). Meanwhile, H-Ti3 C2 Tx film with 25 min oxidation exhibits less-dependent capacitive performance in film thickness range of 10-84 µm (1.63-6.41 mg cm-2 ) and maintains around 60% capacitance as the current density increases from 1 to 50 A g-1 . The findings clearly demonstrate that in-plane nanopores not only provide more electrochemically active sites, but also offer numerous pathways for rapid ion impregnation across the thick Ti3 C2 Tx film. The method reported herein would pave way for fabricating porous MXene materials toward high-rate flexible supercapacitor applications.
