ABSTRACT

At present, countries around the world are paying greater attention to the protection of medicinal plants and traditional medicinal knowledge resources, and are looking for various ways to protect medicinal plants. Many countries have established their own databases to save the medicinal plant information resources. This paper focuses on the introduction of medicinal plant databases in six countries including Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore, and compares their basic information. It is difficult to achieve integration and sharing among these databases. It brings certain difficulties to the use of researchers in related fields. It is suggested that the construction of a multinational common medicinal plant database should be included in the "Belt and Road Initiative" to systematically organize massive information, enhance exchanges between countries on traditional medicinal plants, and achieve medicinal plant information sharing, and the establishment of a shared database will reduce optimization and maintenance to a certain extent or renewal work, laying the foundation for the protection, development and sustainable use of traditional medicinal plant resources.

ABSTRACT

Lancang-Mekong countries refer to the six countries that the Lancang-Mekong River flows through, including China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. These countries are geographically adjacent with similar cultures and have long history of traditional medicine and high plant diversity. Since ancient times, medicinal plants have been introduced into China from the countries along the river, including a variety of medicinal plants with edible and healthcare values, which is an important way for the transnational circulation of medicinal resources. This paper briefly described the history and application of edible medicinal plants in the six Lancang-Mekong countries and summarized more than 150 edible medicinal plants from the other five countries except China. These 150 medicinal plants belong to 66 families such as Labiatae, and 12 species of them are used as edible medicinal plants in all the six countries. Further, we collected the information of these edible medicinal plants, including the origins, efficacy, indications, medicinal edible parts, edible values, and the traditional application of these plants in China. Some valuable edible medicinal plants in the other five countries are considered to have a promising prospect of application in China and may be introduced to China as new medicinal resources. These efforts will be conducive to the cooperation in traditional medicine among Lancang-Mekong countries.

ABSTRACT

Andrographis paniculata is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine with a wide cultivation in south China. The market demand has been increasing steadily in recent years. However, there are problems such as disordered production, pesticide residues and heavy metal content in the process of Andrographis paniculata production. Pollution- free cultivation is an effective strategy to solve this problem, and it is also the development direction of the Chinese herbal medicine planting industry at this stage. In order to guide the cultivation of pollution-free and high-quality Andrographis paniculata, this study established a pollution- free fine cultivation technology system of Andrographis paniculata including precise cultivation and site selection. In addition, soil improvement, scientific pollution-free planting mode and high- efficiency integrated pest control technology help solve problems such as pesticide residues and heavy metal content. This paper provides a reference for the pollution-free and fine cultivation of Andrographis paniculata.

ABSTRACT

Network pharmacology is an emerging discipline based on the Disease-Gene-Drug multilevel network. And it has been used to forecast the drug targets and improve the efficiency of drug discovery. Its research ideas are similar to the overall efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which attracts more and more medical re-searchers to look for the joint point of TCM and network pharmacology. A series of approaches on disease-related genes, predicting the information of target and active ingredients of TCM emerge. In this paper, the network pharma-cology research tools, databases and their applications were summarized and introduced. This paper also proposed scientific strategies to separate active ingredients of TCM using network pharmacology, so as to improve the efficiency and speed of finding active ingredients of TCM.

ABSTRACT

Aconitum kusnezoffi leaves and their extracts were analyzed and evaluated by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, second derivative spectra, and two dimensional correlation infrared spectroscopy in this research. There was characteristic IR absorption peaks of polyose (767 cm(-1)) in the Aconitum kusnezoffii leaves. The IR spectra of the aether extract were similar with the ethanol extract of Aconitum kusnezoffi leaves. The strong absorption peaks of carbonyl (1 715 cm(-1)) and saturated alkyl groups (2 921, 2 851 cm(-1)) could be detected. Some fatty acids were also detected in the water extract. Infrared spectroscopy, combined with two dimensional correlation infrared spectroscopy, can provide much structural information for herbs, which will benefit the quality control, components tracing and identification of extraction process of herbs roundly and qualitatively.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyse the ultrastructural and metabolic changes of brain injury after single-fraction high-dose radiation in rabbits by means of proton 1-hydrogen) magnetic resonance spectroscopy ~1H MRS) ,in order to provide the basic theory for early detection of radiation-induced brain injury. Methods Experimental model of single-fraction high-dose radiation-injured brain was established in 40 rabbits , which were randomly divided into 4 groups and underwent 10, 15, 20 Gy and 30 Gy radiation , respectively. Proton MRS in a clinical MR imager was used to ascertain the amount of whole-brain N-acetylaspartic acid NAA), lactic acid Lac), choline Cho), creatine Cr) before and within 8 weeks after focused single-fraction high-dose irradiation therapy. Metabolic maps of NAA, Lac, Cho and Cr were created from MRS data set. Detection of irradiation injury among the tested models was assessed by receiver operating characteristic analysis and by quantitative signal intensity changes. The peak values of NAA , Lac , Cho and Cr on MRS before and after radiation were measured. Histopathology and electron microscope were used to ascertain changes of the ultrastructural organization in the irradiated area.the results were compared and statisti-cally analyzed. Results Initially MRS was found a slightly decrease. Until obviously change was detected, statistical significance variation of MRS occurred. A significant decrease in~1H MRS occurred at the early stage of brain injury induced by single-fraction high-dose irradiation. Conclusion ~1H MRS may be regarded as a noninvasive and sensitive means for the detection of early radiation-induced brain injury.
