Base on literature analysis, the paper summarized that the five core principles of the traditional Chinese medicine academic development included that the practice is the source of traditional Chinese medicine development, the culture is the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine development, the inheritance is the basic approach of traditional Chinese medicine development, the classics is the important carrier of traditional Chinese medicine development, and the innovation is the power of traditional Chinese medicine development.
RESUMEN
The historical contributions of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was discussed in this paper. Firstly, TCM is the unique medical science created by working people of China. Secondly, TCM contributes greatly to the prosperity of the nation. Thirdly, TCM shows positive influences on promoting the process of world civilization. Finally, TCM is the outstanding representative of traditional Chinese culture. In the way, it guided people to treat TCM in an objective way, to make people follow its own development rule and to promote its inheritance and innovation.

Objective To observe the effects of touching combined with inhalation of atomized traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of recurrent respiratory tract infection.Methods 79 cases were selected according to the inclusion criteria from 105 repeated respiratory traction infection children who were treated in this hospital from September 2008 to August 2009.These cases were randomly recruited into a treatment group(40 cases)and a control group(39 cases).The control group was given conventional therapy at the period of onset,and intensive care at convalescence stage,avoiding cross infection.On this basis.the treatment group was treated with toughing plus inhalation of atomized traditional Chinese medicine at the period of onset.The frequency of respiratory tract infection,duration,appetite,and the condition of sleep were observed after one year's treatment.Results The total effective rate was 92.5%and 67%in the treatment group and the control group respectively,showing significant difference(χ~2=20.16,P＜0.05).Conclusion Touching combined wim inhalation of atomized traditional Chinese medicine is effective in treating recurrent respiratory tract infections in children.

The paper conducted a descriptive analysis of the current situation of the faculty in the School of the Traditional Chinese Medicine of Capital Medical University.Then,using the framework of SWOT analysis,the paper discussed the external and internal factors related with the faculty development.According to the suggestions collected via expert consultation,strategies for the faculty development were put forward in the last part of the paper.
