RESUMEN

Bromadiolone, commonly known as super warfarin, is a long-acting coumarin dicoumarin rodenticide. The mechanism of bromadiolone is mainly to inhibit vitamin K1 epoxide reductase and affect the synthesis of coagulation factors Ⅱ, Ⅶ, Ⅸ and Ⅹ, which causes blood coagulation dysfunction and systemic multiple organ hemorrhage. Here, we report of a case of bromadiolone poisoning patient who had digestive tract, abdominal hemorrhage, as well as secondary paralytic ileus. After blood product transfusion and vitamin K1 supplementation, the patient was discharged after the physical condition was improved. It's suggestied that clinicians should pay attention to rare complications to prevent missed diagnosis when treating other bromadiolone poisoning.

RESUMEN

In this paper, homologous cloning methods were used to clone the soybean GmMEKK gene, which possesses a high degree of similarity to Arabidopsis thaliana AtMEKK1. AtMEKK1 is formed by 595 amino acids, and its secondary structure is formed by 38 irregular curls, 24 α helix, 14 ß, with S-TKc domain, transmembrane domain and does not have membrane spanning domain and signal peptide. GmMEKK-GFP subcellular localization fusion and prokaryotic expression vectors were generated and it was revealed that GmMEKK encodes a highly conserved 66.8-kDa nuclear protein that is expressed in soybean roots, stem floral pieces, and leaves. A real-time quantitative PCR analysis of GmMEKK under different abiotic stresses revealed that the expression level of GmMEKK increased under drought and low phosphorus and nitrogen conditions. Taken together, these data suggest that GmMEKK may play an important role in the soybean abiotic stress response.

RESUMEN

An efficient virtual and rational drug design method is presented. It combines virtual bioactive compound generation with 3D-QSAR model and docking. Using this method, it is possible to generate a lot of highly diverse molecules and find virtual active lead compounds. The method was validated by the study of a set of anti-tumor drugs. With the constraints of pharmacophore obtained by DISCO implemented in SYBYL 6.8, 97 virtual bioactive compounds were generated, and their anti-tumor activities were predicted by CoMFA. Eight structures with high activity were selected and screened by the 3D-QSAR model. The most active generated structure was further investigated by modifying its structure in order to increase the activity. A comparative docking study with telomeric receptor was carried out, and the results showed that the generated structures could form more stable complexes with receptor than the reference compound selected from experimental data. This investigation showed that the proposed method was a feasible way for rational drug design with high screening efficiency.

RESUMEN

Three new quinoline alkaloids, 2-acetylevolitrine (1), 2-acetylpteleine (2), and semecarpifoline (3), along with 26 known compounds were isolated from the root bark of Melicope semecarpifolia. The structures of 1-3 were elucidated by means of spectral analysis. In addition, (2S)-(--)-7,8-dimethoxyplatydesmine (4), cis-(+)-7,8-dimethoxymyrtopsine (5), and (3R)-(--)-8,9-dimethoxygeibalansine (6) were isolated as new natural products. Several of these isolates were determined as exhibiting significant antiplatelet aggregation activities in vitro.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study the changes of endothelin (ET), renin activity (RA) and angiotensin II (AT-II) before and after puerarin treatment in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). METHODS: Forty-three patients with AMI were divided into two groups, and were given puerarin and glucose-insulin-kalium (GIK) treatment respectively. Plasma ET, RA and AT-II were measured by radioimmunoassay (RIA) before and after treatment in different phases. RESULTS: It showed that plasma ET and RA, AT-II levels in AMI were higher than those in control group (P < 0.01). ET level was conversely correlated with RA and AT-II (P < 0.01). After treatment with puerarin, plasma levels of ET, RA and AT-II were recovered to normal in 3 days, but these data recovered to nearly normal until 7-14 days in group with GIK treatment. CONCLUSION: Puerarin might play an important role in regulating the imbalance of ET, RA and AT-II of patients with AMI.

RESUMEN

The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether the combined treatment of growth hormone (GH) and gonadotropins can improve ovulation stimulation in previously poor responders. Twelve patients who, had suboptimal responses in previous in vitro fertilization cycle were enrolled. They underwent 1 cycle with gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogue (GnRH-a) and gonadotropins and another cycle with GnRH-a, gonadotropins, and GH. Serum gonadotropins, insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), and sex steroids, including estradiol (E2), progesterone (P4), testosterone, and androstenedione were measured on Day 2 and during ovulation induction. The serum IGF-1 level was higher in the GH cycle. There were no significant differences in the levels of the serum luteinizing hormone, E2, P4, testosterone, and androstenedione between the 2 cycles, so was IGF-1, E2 and P4 in follicular fluid. Co-treatment with GH did not improve the ovarian response. However, the GH cycles had better performance in terms of the number of oocytes fertilized and the pregnancy rate.

RESUMEN

Three active principles were isolated from the leaf of Melastoma candidum using the screening of hypotensive effects on spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Intravenous injection of castalagin, procyanidin B-2, or helichrysoside into SHR lowered the mean blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner, with helichrysoside being the most potent compound. Plasma noradrenaline (NA) levels, both basal in SHR and elevated in normal rats through cold-stress stimulation, were attenuated by these compounds in a way which was not influenced by adrenalectomy. Decrease of NA release from sympathetic nerves was assumed to be responsible. Moreover, the hypertensive effect of various vasoconstrictors in anesthetized rats was reduced by helichrysoside. The same results were also observed in castalagin or procyanidin B-2 treated animals. The results indicate that the three principles possess the ability to lower blood pressure through a decrease of sympathetic tone as well as due to direct vasodilatation in SHRs.
