[Carpal tunnel syndrome: diagnostics and conservative treatment].

The Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most frequent entrapment neuropaphy of human. The Article is dedicated to diagnostics and conservative treatment this pathology. The early diagnostics and in time fixed treatment prevents the progress of the disease, raises the quality of life and allows to avoid surgical procedure. Big attention is given acupuncture reflexotherepy and infrared latherotherepy, which use raises the quality of the therapeutic influences.

[Multiple sclerosis: new approaches to comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation using methods of reflexotherapy].

The article raises the question of integrated approaches to the treatment of multiple sclerosis, depending on the phase of the disease, type of course and comorbidity. The features of rehabilitation in this disease, discussed the feasibility of reflexology techniques in complex medical and rehabilitation measures.

[New approaches to the treatment of the initial manifestations of cerebral circulatory insufficiency]. / Novi pidkhody do likuvannia pochatkovykh proiaviv nedostatnosti krovoobihu holovnoho mozku.

Effects are shown of low doses of ionizing radiation on the development of various cerebrovascular disorders. Pathophysiological mechanisms of development of incipient forms of cerebrovascular insufficiency are disclosed, effective ways for correction of the pathology in question are outlined. Results are presented of examination of 120 patients with incipient forms of cerebrovascular insufficiency who had become victims of the Chernobyl accident, with the most important clinical manifestations in the patients analyzed. Results of treatment of patients with the aid of the laser puncture technique are submitted, its high efficacies in the complex of therapeutic measures instituted in patients with incipient forms of cerebrovascular insufficiency are shown.

[The combination of reflexotherapy and homeopathy in treating patients with facial nerve neuropathy]. / Poiedannia refleksoterapiï ta homeopatiï pry likuvanni khvorykh z nevropatiieiu lytsevoho nerva.

Used in a multiple-modality treatment of 103 patients presenting with facial nerve neuropathy were infrared laser puncture and homeopathy. The former treatments were administered with the aid of the apparatus [symbol: see text] 001 at wave-length 890 nm, average power 15 mW/cm2. Homeopathy therapy was with those drug preparations meant to deal with constitutional and symptomatic problems. As many as 103 patients with facial nerve neuropathy derived apparent benefit from treatment, which fact was confirmed by electrophysiological findings as was by those from acupuncture diagnosis techniques.

[Effects of low-intensity EHF-radiation on peripheral sections of the nervous system]. / Vplyv nyz'kointensyvnoho NVCh-vyprominiuvannia na peryferychni viddily nervovoï systemy.

A study was made on effects of EHF-radiation on man. The study was conducted in 40 volunteers who ranged from 20 to 30 years old using the EHF-apparatus "Yav-I" (wavelength 7.1 mm, wattage 5 mW/cm2). As a result of 50 min exposure to EHF-radiation of the area of the GI(II)4 acupuncture point in EEG study a rearrangement has been recorded of cortical rhythm patterns characteristic of a healthy man, that suggested the development of an unspecific reaction of activation such as increase in the tone of the brain cortex. In the investigation designed to study indication of EHF EMF, it has been shown that a field with the above parameters is recognized by 78 percent of examinees.

[A differentiated approach to laser puncture in facial neuritis by using the methods of acupuncture diagnosis]. / Dyferentsial'nyi pidkhid do lazeropuntury pry nevryti lytsevoho nerva z vykorystanniam metodiv akupunkturnoï diahnostyky.

Overall 87 patients with neuritis of the facial nerve were studied by making use of methods of acupuncture diagnosis as recommended by Nakatani and Akabane. The parameters under investigation included the level of physiologic corridor, left-right asymmetry, the Yang and the Yin meridians sum ratio, maximum deviation from the physiological corridor in certain meridians. The results obtained permitted the identification of three groups of patients depending on the duration of their illness. This permitted the differentiated approach to the use of laser puncture in these patients securing good results of treatment which were confirmed by both the positive dynamics of acupuncture methods of investigation and data supplied by the electrophysiological techniques (EMG, EEG). With the purpose of performing laser puncture, the infrared laser puncture apparatus Biomed-001 (wavelength 0.89, average laser emissive power 20 mw) was employed.

Overall eighty-seven patients with facial neuritis [correction of paralysis] received multimodality treatment involving infrared laser acupuncture procedures. The unit "Biomed-001" operating at wavelength 890 nm with intensity 20 mW served as a source of laser light. The acupuncture points (with 10 to 15 points in each treatment session, duration of exposure being 1 to 3 min) were selected according to principles of traditional Chinese medicine. One course of the infrared laser therapy acupuncture treatments is 12 to 16 sessions. The described treatment option applied in the above patients population was associated with a good clinical effect confirmed by results of studies made with the aid of electrophysiological modalities.
