RESUMEN

Objective:To learn about the current status of iodine nutrition of key populations in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, and to provide basis for guiding key populations to supplement iodine scientifically. Methods:According to the requirements of the "National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Surveillance Program (2016 Edition)", pregnant women and school-age children aged 8 - 10 (age balanced, half male and half female) in 8 counties (cities, districts) under the jurisdiction of Shiyan City, Hubei Province were selected from 2017 to 2020. Their household edible salt samples and urine samples were collected to detect salt iodine and urinary iodine contents, respectively. At the same time, the thyroid gland of children was examined by B-ultrasonic and the goiter rate was calculated. Results:In total, 3 198 household edible salt samples of pregnant women were tested, the median salt iodine was 23.7 mg/kg, the coverage rate of iodized salt was 99.9% (3 196/3 198), the qualified rate of iodized salt was 96.0% (3 068/3 196), and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt was 95.9% (3 068/3 198). Totally 2 898 urine samples of pregnant women were tested, and the median urinary iodine was 198.2 μg/L. In total, 6 363 household edible salt samples of children were tested, the median salt iodine was 23.8 mg/kg, the coverage rate of iodized salt was 99.8% (6 352/6 363), the qualified rate of iodized salt was 95.5% (6 067/6 352), and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt was 95.3% (6 067/6 363). Totally 5 764 urine samples of children were tested, and the median urinary iodine was 259.8 μg/L. Totally 2 188 children were examined, and the goiter rate was 0.4% (9/2 188).Conclusions:From 2017 to 2020, the coverage rates of iodized salt (≥95%), consumption rates of qualified iodized salt ( > 90%) of key populations and the goiter rate of children ( < 5%) in Shiyan City of Hubei Province are in line with the national standards for eliminating iodine deficiency disorders. Pregnant women are generally at an appropriate level of iodine (150 - 249 μg/L) and children are generally at the super appropriate level of iodine (200 - 299 μg/L). It is necessary to continue to strengthen the monitoring of iodine nutrition in key populations and implement the strategy of "adjusting measures to local conditions, classified guidance and scientific iodine supplementation".

RESUMEN

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and western medicine have their respective advantages and limitations in the diagnosis and treatment of common otorhinolaryngology head and neck diseases. Although the integrated TCM and western medicine exhibits definite curative effects, there is no consensus on the otorhinolaryngology head and neck diseases responding specifically to TCM or integrated TCM and western medicine, as well as the diagnosis and treatment schemes. The China Association of Chinese Medicine (CACM) thus organized the otorhinolaryngology head and neck specialists of both TCM and western medicine to discuss the etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical diagnosis and treatment methods of common otorhinolaryngology head and neck diseases with the results of multiple clinical trials taken into account. The acute pharyngitis, chronic pharyngolaryngitis, paraesthesia pharyngis, hysterical aphasia, allergic rhinitis, subjective tinnitus, and otogenic vertigo were confirmed to respond specifically to TCM or integrated TCM and western medicine. Then a mutually agreed diagnosis and treatment scheme and recommendation with integrated TCM and western medicine was formulated as a reference for clinical practice, thus benefiting more patients.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE@#To examine the differential expression of protein of thalamus in rats with diffuse axonal injury.@*METHODS@#Twenty-five rats were randomly divided into a normal group (n=10) and a trauma group (n=15). Total proteins of brain trauma tissue and normal brain tissue were extracted separately, and then proteins were separated by two dimensional gel electrophoresis and stained with Coomassie brilliant blue. The differentially expressed protein spots were identified with biospectrometry. Images were analyzed by PDQuest 7.0.@*RESULTS@#The distribution of protein spots in the trauma group was similar to that of the normal group, the matching rate was 95%, and the repeatability was good. Proteins were mainly displayed at pI 3-8, with relative molecular mass 14.4-75.0 kD. Compared with the normal group, 16 spots of proteins increased and 18 spots of proteins decreased in the trauma group.@*CONCLUSION@#There is some difference in protein expression between the normal group and the trauma group. Brain trauma may lead to changes of proteins in the thalamus.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo investigate the therapeutic effect and safety of acupuncture at points of The Liver and Gallbladder Meridians for treatment of migraine.

METHODSMulti-central, randomized and controlled trial was used and 253 cases of migraine were divided into an acupuncture group and a western medicine group. The acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at points of The Liver and Gallbladder Channels with Taichong (LR 3), Yang-lingquan (GB 34), Fengchi (GB 20), Ququan (LR 8) selected as main points, and the western medicine group with oral administration of Flunarizine tablets for 4 therapeutic courses. The total therapeutic effects 3 and 6 months after the treatment, the scores of various symptoms of migraine before and after treatment, and the stability of therapeutic effect in one-year following-up survey were observed in the two groups.

RESULTSAfter treatment, mean times and duration of the headache attack were significantly improved in the two groups (all P < 0.01) with the acupuncture group better than the western medicine group (P < 0.05). The total effective rates for stopping pain after treatment, 3 months and 6 months after treatment in the acupuncture group were 93.0%, 93.0% and 87.7%, respectively, which were better than 85.6%, 86.5% and 69.2% in the western medication group (all P < 0.01). One year later, the stability of the therapeutic effect in the acupuncture group was better than that in the western medicine group (P < 0.05); the adverse reaction and the compliance in the acupuncture group were significantly superior to those in the western medicine group.

CONCLUSIONAcupuncture at points of The Liver and Gallbladder Meridians for treatment of migraine is safe, effective, and with stable long-term therapeutic effect.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the clinical efficacy of intrathecally administered low dose sufentanil-bupivacaine in transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). METHODS. Ninety patient (ASA I - III) undergoing TURP were randomly divided into 3 groups (n = 30); Group A, B and C. Group A received 7.5 mg bupivacaine + 5 microg sufentanil + 10% glucose; Group B received 7.5 mg bupivacaine + 7.5 microg sufentanil + 10% glucose; Group C received 15 mg bupivacaine + 10% glucose. The volume was 3 mL in every group. SP, DP, HR, SpO2, the degree of motor and sensory blockade and the side effect were observed.@*RESULTS@#SP/DP was significantly decreased in Group C than that in Group and Group B (p<0.05), HR and SpO2 in group B were decreased to different degrees 15 min after the injection (p<0.05). The complete recovery time of motor nerve blockade and the regression time of sensory blockade were obviously prolonged in Group C (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in analgesic effect among the three groups during the operation, but the incidence of pruritus was higher in both group A and Group B than that in Group C during the first 24 hours after the injection.@*CONCLUSION@#Spinal anesthesia with low dose sufentanil-bupivacaine possesses relatively steady hemodynamics. The blockade degree of motor and sensory blockade in this spinal anesthesia is lower than that in standard spinal bupivacaine in TURP.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study the dynamic accumulation of glycyrrhizic acid (GA) in semi-wild Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. so as to determine its optimal harvest time. METHODS: The content of GA in the plant samples was determined by HPLC. RESULTS: In the same growth period, the content of GA in the plant reached its highest peak in June or July, decreased gradually from August, and reached the lowest in November or December. Then the content of GA increased gradually from next March, and finally reached the highest in June or July again. There was no obvious difference between the content of GA in the one-year-old and the two-year-old Glycyrrhiza uralensis. But the content of GA in the three-year-old increased markedly, and its GA content was much higher than that of the one or two-year-old. CONCLUSION: The optimal harvest time of semi-wild Glycyrrhiza uralensis is in July or August after transplanted three years.
