Background: Chronic ankle instability (CAI) is a common sports injury disease and characterized by limited mobility, perceived instability and muscle weakness, combined treatment of hip-knee-ankle is a common rehabilitation method. Tuina, as a traditional Chinese manual therapy, is usually used for CAI, but many of them only focus on the local ankle joint rather than the combination of hip and knee joint. Therefore, we have designed a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to investigate the effects of Tuina base on the concept of hip-knee-ankle conjugation on the stability and balance of lower limbs and ankle function in patients with CAI. Methods: We have designed a randomized controlled trial. A total of 72 participants with CAI will be randomly divided into functional training groups and hip-knee-ankle Tuina combined with functional training group in a 1:1 ratio. Participants in control group will receive 8 sessions of functional training (30 min per session, twice a week for 4 weeks). Participants in intervention group will receive 8 sessions of Tuina combined with functional training (twice a week for 4 weeks). The primary outcomes include the Y-Balance Test (YBT) and Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT). The Secondary outcomes include the Foot and Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM) and ankle range of motion (ROM). The outcome assessments will be conducted before the first intervention and after the last intervention. Discussion: The aim of this study is to explore a safe and effective manipulation program and serve as reference for clinical treatment of CAI and expect to provide the necessary theoretical and practical support to our future research. Pectin is a complex heteropolysaccharide with a predominantly galacturonic acid (GalA) main chain and various branching sugars, leading to some analytical and quantitative determination challenges. By comparison with various acid hydrolysis methods, an effective and precise hydrolysis method for GalA determination from pectin was investigated using a combination of pectinase hydrolysis (PH) and HPLC determination, which was named the PH-HPLC method. With a pectinase loading of 2250 U/g pectin, 4.0 g/L commercial pectin was almost completely hydrolysed to the intact and detectable GalA at 50 °C after 24 h, for quantitative determination by HPLC. Acid-catalysis methods showed obvious disadvantages in terms of GalA degradation or incomplete hydrolysis of pectin, resulting in imprecise determination results. Moreover, the PH-HPLC method was employed for the quantitative determination of GalA in three common natural pectin feedstocks and indicated 45.5-233.1% higher content of GalA than the acid hydrolysis method. Thus, the PH-HPLC method is demonstrated to be a precise approach for analysing and quantifying the GalA of pectin and respective feedstock.

Oryza sativa PHOSPHATE RESPONSE2 (OsPHR2) can promote the uptake and use of phosphorus (P) in rice. We introduced OsPHR2 into the winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety "Zhengmai0856." OsPHR2 was integrated into the wheat genome with two copy numbers and could be correctly transcribed and expressed. OsPHR2 was mainly expressed in the leaves at the seedling stage. From the jointing to filling stage, OsPHR2 was mainly expressed in the roots, followed by the leaves, with a low expression level in detected the tassels and stems. The transgenic lines exhibited higher P accumulation at each growth stage and increased P uptake intensity in comparison to the wild type under low P and high P conditions. Analysis of the root characteristics showed that the transgenic expression of OsPHR2 increased the maximum root length, total root length, root-to-shoot ratio, and root volume under the conditions of P deficiency or low P. A field experiment showed that the transgenic lines had a higher grain yield than the wild type under low P and high P conditions. The yield of the transgenic lines increased by 6.29% and 3.73% on average compared with the wild type under low P and high P conditions, respectively. Thus, the transgenic expression of OsPHR2 could increase P uptake and yield in wheat, but the effect was more prominent under low P conditions.

This study analyzed the molecular mechanism of Huangjing Qianshi Decoction(HQD) in the treatment of prediabetes based on network pharmacology and molecular docking. The active components of HQD were identified and screened based on Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP, http://Lsp.nwu.edu.cn/tcmsp.php) and then the targets of the components and the genes related to prediabetes were retrieved, followed by identifying the common targets of the decoction and the disease. The medicinal component-target network was constructed by Cytoscape to screen key components. The protein-protein interaction(PPI) network was established by STRING and hub genes were identified by Cytoscape-CytoNCA, followed by Gene Ontology(GO) term enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) of the hub genes with R-clusterProfi-ler. Thereby, the possible signaling pathways were predicted and the molecular mechanism was deduced. A total of 79 active components of HQD and 785 diabetes-related targets of the components were screened out. The hub genes mainly involved the GO terms of tricarboxylic acid cycle, peptide binding, amide binding, hydrolase activity, and kinase activity regulation, and the KEGG pathways of AGE-RAGE signaling pathway, TNF signaling pathway, AMPK signaling pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway, and insulin signaling pathway. Western blot result showed that HQD-containing serum significantly reduced the expression of AKT1, AGE, and RAGE proteins in insulin resistance model cells. HQD's treatment of prediabetes is characterized by multiple pathways, multiple targets, and multiple levels. The main mechanism is that the components zhonghualiaoine, baicalein, kaempferol, and luteolin act on AKT1 and inhibit the AGE-RAGE axis.

RESUMEN

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of long-snake moxibustion plus Western medicine for chronic heart failure due to heart-kidney yang deficiency.Methods: A total of 80 patients were randomized into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine Western medicine, and the observation group was treated with long-snake moxibustion therapy on the basis of routine Western medicine. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), stroke volume (SV) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDd) were measured before and after treatment, and the heart function was assessed. The serum brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) level was measured, the 6 min walking distance was recorded, and the Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire (MLHFQ) was assessed and scored. The serum galectin-3 (Gal-3) and soluble growth stimulation expressed gene 2 (sST2) protein levels were measured. Clinical efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, LVEF and LVEDd in both groups were significantly improved (all P<0.05), and LVEF, SV and LVEDd in the observation group were superior to those in the control group (all P<0.05). The heart function classification in both groups were improved after treatment (both P<0.05), and the heart function classification in the observation group was superior to that in the control group (P<0.05). The serum BNP level in both groups decreased (both P<0.05), and the serum BNP level in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The 6 min walking distance and MLHFQ scores in both groups were improved (all P<0.05), and the 6 min walking distance and MLHFQ score in the observation group were superior to those in the control group (both P<0.05). The serum Gal-3 and sST2 levels in the observation group decreased significantly (both P<0.05), and all lower than those in the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Long-snake moxibustion plus Western medicine has significant efficacy in treating chronic heart failure due to heart-kidney yang deficiency; it can improve heart function, reduce the serum BNP level, and improve the exercise endurance and quality of life in the patients. This may be related to the down-regulation of serum Gal-3 and sST2 levels.

Tumor has become the second most serious disease that threatens human health and life. Treating with chemical drugs (referred to as chemotherapy) is the most basic treatment, but most chemotherapeutic drugs cause damage to normal tissues. It is a difficult problem in the field of biomedical research that how to deliver anti-tumor drugs more efficiently, increase the concentration of drugs in tumor tissues, enhance the anti-tumor effect, and decrease the drug distribution in normal tissues to weaken the damage to normal tissues. In order to achieve the goals of accurate delivery of anti-tumor drugs and synergism and attenuation, the researchers used systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment technology (SELEX technology) to screen aptamers that can specifically target tumor markers or tumor cells, and designed the novel liposome targeting drug delivery system with aptamers as targeting molecules (ligands). This paper briefly introduced nucleic acid aptamer technology and common tumor markers, and reviewed the research advances on the antitumor effect of aptamer-liposome drug delivery system. It will provide references for the selection of appropriate tumor markers as targets and the application of aptamer technology in the research and development of high-efficiency and low-toxicity liposome targeting agents of anti-tumor traditional Chinese medicine. Meanwhile, it is of great significance for promoting the application of aptamer technology in targeted drug delivery systems.

L­carnitine (LC) is well known for its antioxidative properties. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of LC on human lens epithelial cells (HLECs) and to analyze its regulatory mechanism in cataractogenesis. HLE B­3 cells were cultured with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and were pretreated with or without LC. The Cell Counting kit­8 assay was used to determine cell viability. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) assay kit was used to measure the cellular ROS production induced by H2O2 and LC. In addition, reverse transcription­quantitative PCR and western blot analysis were performed to detect the expression levels of oxidative damage markers and antioxidant enzymes. Notably, ROS overproduction was observed upon exposure to H2O2, whereas LC supplementation markedly decreased ROS levels through activation of the antioxidant enzymes forkhead box O1, peroxiredoxin 4 and catalase. Furthermore, LC suppressed the expression of apoptosis­associated genes (caspase-3) and inflammation­associated genes [interleukin (IL)1, IL6, IL8 and cyclooxygenase­2]. Conversely, LC promoted proliferating cell nuclear antigen, cyclin­dependent kinase (CDK)2 and CDK4 expression, which may increase proliferation of HLECs that were incubated with H2O2. In addition, epithelial­mesenchymal transition occurred upon ROS accumulation, whereas the effects of H2O2 on AQP1 and vimentin expression were reversed upon LC supplementation. Notably, this study revealed that LC restored the oxidant/antioxidant balance and protected against cell damage through the mitogen­activated protein kinase signaling pathway. In conclusion, LC may serve a protective role in curbing oxidative damage and therefore may be considered a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of cataracts.

Innate immunity has been extended to respond environmental pathogen other than microbial components. Here we explore a novel pollen/TLR4 innate immunity in allergic inflammation. In experimental allergic conjunctivitis induced by short ragweed (SRW) pollen, typical allergic signs, stimulated IL-33/ST2 signaling and overproduced Th2 cytokine were observed in ocular surface, cervical lymph nodes and isolated CD4+ T cells of BALB/c mice. These clinical, cellular and molecular changes were significantly reduced/eliminated in TLR4 deficient (Tlr4-d) or MyD88 knockout (MyD88-/-) mice. Aqueous SRW extract (SRWe) directly stimulated IL-33 mRNA and protein expression by corneal epithelium and conjunctiva in wild type, but not in Tlr4-d or MyD88-/- mice with topical challenge. Furthermore, SRWe-stimulated IL-33 production was blocked by TLR4 antibody and NF-kB inhibitor in mouse and human corneal epithelial cells. These findings for the first time uncovered a novel mechanism by which SRW pollen initiates TLR4-dependent IL-33/ST2 signaling that triggers Th2-dominant allergic inflammation.

Phylogenetic analyses have lent support to the concept of lineage selection: that biological lineages can have heritable traits that influence their capacity to persist and diversify, and thereby affect their representation in biodiversity. While many discussions have focused on "positive" lineage selection, where stably heritable properties of lineages enhance their diversification rate, there are also intriguing examples that seem to represent "negative" lineage selection, where traits reduce the likelihood that a lineage will persist or speciate. In this article, we test whether a particular pattern of negative lineage selection is detectable from the distributions of the trait on a phylogeny. "Self-destructive" traits are those that arise often but then disappear again because they confer either a raised extinction rate or they are prone to a high rate of trait loss. For such a trait, the reconstructed origins will tend to be dispersed across the tips of the phylogeny, rather than defining large clades of related lineages that all share the trait. We examine the utility of four possible measures of "tippiness" as potential indicators of macroevolutionary self-destruction, applying them to phylogenies on which trait evolution has been simulated under different combinations of parameters for speciation, extinction, trait gain, and trait loss. We use an efficient simulation approach that starts with the required number of tips with and without the trait and uses a model to work "backwards" to construct different possible trees that result in that set of tips. We then apply these methods to a number of case studies: salt tolerance in grasses, color polymorphism in birds of prey, and selfing in nightshades. We find that the relative age of species, measured from tip length, can indicate a reduced speciation rate but does not identify traits that increase the extinction rate or the trait loss rate. We show that it is possible to detect cases of macroevolutionary self-destruction by considering the number of tips with the trait that arise from each inferred origin, and the degree to which the trait is scattered across the phylogeny. These metrics, and the methods we present, may be useful for testing macroevolutionary hypotheses from phylogenetic patterns.

PURPOSE: L-carnitine suppresses inflammatory responses in human corneal epithelial cells (HCECs) exposed to hyperosmotic stress. In this study, we determined if L-carnitine induces this protective effect through suppression of reactive oxygen species (ROS)-induced oxidative damage in HCECs. METHODS: Primary HCECs were established from donor limbal explants. A hyperosmolarity dry-eye model was used in which HCECs are cultured in 450 mOsM medium with or without L-carnitine for up to 48 hours. Production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), oxidative damage markers, oxygenases and antioxidative enzymes were analyzed by 2',7'-dichlorofluorescein diacetate (DCFDA) kit, semiquantitative PCR, immunofluorescence, and/or Western blotting. RESULTS: Reactive oxygen species production increased in HCECs upon substitution of the isotonic medium with the hypertonic medium. L-carnitine supplementation partially suppressed this response. Hyperosmolarity increased cytotoxic membrane lipid peroxidation levels; namely, malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydroxynonenal (HNE), as well as mitochondria DNA release along with an increase in 8-OHdG and aconitase-2. Interestingly, these oxidative markers were significantly decreased by coculture with L-carnitine. Hyperosmotic stress also increased the mRNA expression and/or protein production of heme oxygenase-1 (HMOX1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX2), but inhibited the levels of antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase-1 (SOD1), glutathione peroxidase-1 (GPX1), and peroxiredoxin-4 (PRDX4). However, L-carnitine partially reversed this altered imbalance between oxygenases and antioxidant enzymes induced by hyperosmolarity. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings demonstrate for the first time that L-carnitine protects HCECs from oxidative stress by lessening the declines in antioxidant enzymes and suppressing ROS production. Such suppression reduces membrane lipid oxidative damage markers and mitochondrial DNA damage.

To evaluate the effects and safety of varying doses of Guizhi Fuling capsule on treating primary dysmenorrhea. From August 2010 to March 2011, 240 subjects (aged 18-30) with primary dysmenorrheal, were enrolled in 8 sites. They were randomized into Guizhi Fuling capsule high dose group, low dose group and placebo control group, 80 cases in each group. These patients were treated for three consecutive menstrual cycles, then were followed up in another three consecutive menstrual cycles. Visual analogue scales (VAS) was used to determine the pain intensity. During the treatment, the high-, low-dose and placebo groups efficiency on pain relief are 68.42%, 67.57% and 47.89% respectively. Guzhi Fuling (included high- and low- dose group) significantly relieves the pain compared to placebo. In follow-up, Guzhi Fuling groups are still superior to the placebo group (73.68%, 72.97% and 53.52%). During the treatment, pain duration reduces 57.88% in high dose group, while 46.17% in low dose group, and 30.40% in placebo group. In follow-up, pain lasting time decrease 67.93%, 53.56%, 47.46%, respectively. Guizhi Fuling significantly reduces the pain duration compared to placebo and high-dose is better than low-dose. The efficacy of Guzhi Fuling (high- and low-dose) displays certain dosage-effect relationship. Among these group, no serious adverse event was reported. Guizhi Fuling capsule at high or low dose significantly relieves the pain, improves symptoms, reduces the duration of pain, and has a better overall treatment effect and long-term treatment effect in patients with primary dysmenorrhea.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the therapeutic efficacy of bushui roumu recipe (BRR) combined medroxyprogesterone acetate tablet (MAT) in treating premature ovarian failure (POF).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Totally 90 POF patients of Shen deficiency Gan stagnation syndrome were assigned to 3 groups by random number table, 30 in each group. Patients in the treatment group were treated with BRR and MAT, those in the Chinese medicine group were treated with BRR, and those in the Western medicine group were treated with artificial period method. All patients were treated for 3 months. The menstrual improvement was observed before and after treatment. The therapeutic efficacy was assessed using modified Kupperman scoring standard. The serum levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2) were observed before and after treatment.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>(1) In aspect of the menstrual improvement: In the treatment group 20 patients had menstrual onset during the treatment course. Ten had normal menstruation after discontinued medication. Of them one got pregnancy one month after treatment. In the Chinese medicine group 6 patients had menstrual onset during the treatment course. Two had normal menstruation after discontinued medication. In the Western medicine group 26 patients had menstrual onset during the treatment course. Twelve had normal menstruation after discontinued medication. Better effects on the menstrual improvement were obtained in the treatment group than in the Chinese medicine group (P < 0.01), but with no statistical difference when compared with the Western medicine group (P > 0.05). (2) There was statistical difference in modified Kupperman scores of the 3 groups between before and after treatment (P < 0.01). The improvement of total modified Kupperman score was better in the treatment group than in the other two groups (P < 0.01). The improvement of palpitation was better in the treatment group than in the other two groups (P < 0.05). The improvement of tidal fever and sweat was better in the treatment group and the Chinese medicine group than in the Western medicine group (P < 0.05). (3) After treatment all patients' serum E2 was higher than before treatment, serum levels of FSH and LH were lower than before treatment. Compared pre- and post-treatment, there was statistical difference (P < 0.01). The serum E2 level in the 3 groups was higher after treatment than before treatment with statistical difference (P < 0.01). The levels of FSH and LH were lower in the 3 groups after treatment than before treatment with statistical difference (P < 0.01). The improvement of E2 was better in the treatment group than in the Chinese medicine group (P < 0.05). The improvement of FSH and LH was better in the treatment group than in the Western medicine group (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Combination of BRR and MAT could improve the clinical symptoms, menstruation, and serum reproductive hormones in POF patients of Shen deficiency Gan stagnation syndrome.</p>

This study was purposed to investigate the effects of magnetic nanoparticle of Fe3O4 (Fe3O4-MNPs) on murine immune system. ICR mice were assigned randomly into four groups which were treated with normal saline, low, middle and high dose of MNP-Fe3O4 respectively. The mice were killed after being exposed by intragastric administration for 2 weeks. The ratios of spleen weight to body weight, lymphocyte transformation rate in spleen suspension and phagocytic index of macrophage in abdominal cavity were detected. The results showed that the ratios of spleen weight to body weight in Fe3O4-MNP groups were not significantly different in comparison with the control (p > 0.05). The lymphocyte transformation rate in spleen suspension in Fe3O4-MNP groups were all higher than that in control group (-0.1775 +/- 0.0246), especially in the middle dose group (0.1833 +/- 0.0593) (p < 0.05), and the phagocytic index of macrophages in abdominal cavity of middle dose group (0.2051 +/- 0.0213) was higher than that of control group and other two Fe3O4-MNP group (low dose 0.1538 +/- 0.0100, high dose 0.1511 +/- 0.0184) (p < 0.05). It is concluded that suitable dose of Fe3O4-MNP can enhance the cellular immune activity and phagocytic function of macrophages of mice.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the effects of soybean,selenium and spirulina on hemoglobin(Hb)of rats intoxicated with fluorine and aluminiums.Methods According to body weight,84 SD rats were randomly divided into control group,high aluminum group,high fluorine group,high fluorine-aluminum group,high fluorine-aluminium intoxicated rats strengthened with soybean group,high fluorine-aluminium intoxicated rats strengthened with selenium group and high fluorine-aluminium intoxicated rats strengthened with spirulina group,12 in each group.Rats in the control group and the high aluminum group were fed with feed containing 5.2 mg/kg of fluorine and 6.8 mg/kg of aluminum.In other groups,fluorine wag 106 mg/Kg and aluminum 19.7 mg/kg.Fluorine and aluminum concentration in the drinking water of the control group and the high fluorine group were 0.69 mg/L and 0.20 mg/L,respectively.In other groups' drinking water,these values were 0.69 mg/L and 90.2 mg/L,respectively.Ninety days later,Hb concentration of the whole blood was tested.Results Hb concentration of the control group,the high aluminum group,the high fluorine group,and the high fluorine-aluminum group were (160.8±6.3),(142.2±15.9),(156.1±4.9)and(145.2±6.2)g/L,respectively.Fluorine had an effect on the concentration of Hb(F=29.56,P<0.05).The Hb concentration of the high fluorine-aluminum group,the strengthened with soybean group,the strengthened with selenium group and the strengthened with Spirulina group were(145.2±6.2),(150.7±17.7),(156.8±14.5),(154.5±17.8)g/L,respectively.Though the concentration of Hb had increased,there was no significant difference between the four groups(χ2=3.304,P>0.05).Conclusions High-dose fluorine could cause varied decrease in the concentration of Hb.However,aluminum has neitherantagonistic effect nor synergistic effect on the Hb of fluorotic Rat.Soybean,selenium and Spirulina show a trend to increase fluorotic rat's Hb,but they has no evident antagonistic effect.

RESUMEN

<p><b>BACKGROUND</b>Tamsulosin, an alpha-1 receptor antagonist, has been demonstrated effective in promoting distal ureteral stone passage and in reducing pain associated with stone expulsion. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of tamsulosin in comparison with nifedipine and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) on the expulsion rate of distal ureteral stones at different sizes.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>We assigned 314 patients to three categories: I, the stone with maximal diameter of 4.0 - 5.9 mm; II, 6.0 - 7.9 mm, and III, 8.0 - 9.9 mm. Patients in each category were randomly subdivided into three treatment subgroups: group A (nifedipine group), group B (tamsulosin group), and group C (ESWL group). Stone-free rate and the dose of analgesics were recorded weekly during the 4-week follow-up period.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Three hundred and three patients completed the study. The results showed that nifedipine and tamsulosin treatments promoted a small (4 - 8 mm, categories I and II) stone expulsive rate that was comparable with ESWL treatment. Nonetheless, when the stone diameter was 8.0 - 9.9 mm, ESWL showed a greater stone free rate than nifedipine and tamsulosin treatments; no significant difference existed between the latter two therapies. Although the ESWL treatment group required the least analgesics, tamsulosin treatments required less pain medication than nifedipine (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Tamsulosin treatment is recommended for patients with the stone diameter smaller than 8 mm because of its feasibility, effectiveness and safety. ESWL is more appropriate than tamsulosin therapy for the patients whose stones are larger than 8 mm.</p>

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the pharmacologic effects of Chinese medicine Bushen Huayu Jiedu Compound Recipe (BSHYJDR) in drug-resistance cells of lung cancer.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Human lung adenocarcinoma A549/DDP cell strain was selected, serum pharmacology and flow cytometer (FCM) method were adopted, S180 tumor-bearing mice and normal mice were given, through gastrogavage, different doses of a decocted concentration of BSHYJDR. Serum from the abdominal aorta was taken to observe the effect of drug-serum on cisplatin (DDP) concentration, free Ca2+ concentration and the expression of lung drug-resistance protein LRP-56 in A549/DDP cells.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared with the drug-resistance group, the intracellular DDP concentration in the group taking a high dose and the normal group of Chinese medicine showed significant difference (P<0.05), while no significant difference was found in the low-dose group (P>0.05). Compared with the drug-resistance group, the Ca2+ concentration in cells and the expression of LRP in lung cancer drug-resistance cells A549/DDP of the high-dose group, the low-dose group and the normal group of Chinese medicine were significantly different (all P<0.01), the LRP expression of the normal group was obviously higher than that of the drug-resistance group (P<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>It was indicated that serum containing Chinese medicine BSHYJDR in the tumor-bearing mice and the normal mice had certainly different, tumor-bearing mice serum containing could improve drug concentration in lung cancer drug-resistance cells, prevent the inflow and release of Ca2+, and inhibit the expression of the drug-resistance gene in the lung cancer drug-resistance cells, which might be the mechanism of BSHYJDR in enhancing the efficacy in reversing and inhibiting tumor.</p>

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the chemical constituents of Bauhinia championii.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Compounds were isolated from the ethanolic extract of B. championii by silica gel column Chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by spectral analyses.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>Five compounds were isolated and elucidated as 2,4,6-trimethoxyphenol 1-O-beta-D-(6'-O-galloyl)-glucopyranoside (1), (+/-)-lyoniresinol (2), daucosterol (3), beta-sitosterol (4) and gallic acid (5).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Compounds 1-4 were isolated from B. championii for the first time.</p>

RESUMEN

Effects of bioremediation on microbial communities in soils contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons are a scientific problem to be solved. Changes in dominate microbial species and the total amount of microorganisms including bacteria and fungi in rhizospheric soils after bioremediation were thus evaluated using field bioremediation experiments. The results showed that there were changed dominant microorganisms including 11 bacterial strains which are mostly Gram positive bacteria and 6 fungal species which were identified. The total amount of microorganisms including bacteria and fungi increased after bioremediation of microbial agents combined with planting maize. On the contrary, fungi in rhizospheric soils were inhibited by adding microbial agents combined with planting soybean.
