RESUMEN

Patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis complicated by erectile dysfunction received combined rehabilitative treatment based on the use of various combinations of physiobalneotherapeutic factors, such as ultrasound, local negative pressure, white and yellow turpentine or sodium chloride baths, supplemented by basal medicamentous therapy in the form of rectal suppositories. Efficiency of therapy involving sodium chloride, white and yellow turpentine baths was estimated at 85, 60, and 75% respectively.

RESUMEN

Combined application of ultrasound, modulated sinusoidal currents (MSC), and iodine-bromine baths is known to be a highly efficacious method for the rehabilitative treatment of patients with chronic cystitis in the phase of latent inflammation. The present study has demonstrated that combination of ultrasound with electrotherapeutic sleep and iodine-bromine baths exerts pronounced anti-inflammatory effect and bacteriostatic action whereas modulated sinusoidal currents combined with electrotherapeutic sleep and iodine-bromine baths significantly improve urodynamics in the lower urinary tract and produce marked anesthetic effect. Evaluation of the immediate and long-term results of the treatment of 16 patients presenting with chronic cystitis revealed the absence of exacerbation of infectious and inflammatory processes in the bladder within 6 months after physiotherapy

RESUMEN

The paper reports a review of up-to-date methods for the use of white turpentine bath emulsion and yellow turpentine solution in the treatment of chronic prostatitis complicated by excretory pathospermia. The results of bath therapy are presented. It is shown that the efficiency of white turpentine bath emulsion amounted to 69.7% compared with 88.3% in patients treated with the use of yellow turpentine solution.

RESUMEN

Combined treatment with local negative pressure and pulsating magnetic field conducted in 116 patients with erectile dysfunction aged 20-60 years produced optimal treatment results. Recovery and improvement of the erectile function were achieved in 85.7% patients given local vacuum-magnetotherapy.

RESUMEN

Surgical interventions were made in 175 patients aged 23-87 years (mean age 64.8 years) with different diseases of the lower urinary tract (adenoma, prostatic cancer, cancer of the urinary bladder, etc.) with application of a new generation of endoscopic technique--transurethral resection in saline (TURis system) with a generator UES-40 SurgMaster (Olympus). Three patients had a cardiac pacemaker. The size of the prostate in prostatic adenoma ranged from 4.8 to 121 cm3 (mean 62.5 cm3), residual urine--92.3 ml (42.6 to 310.2 ml). Duration of surgery averaged 63 min (14 to 127 min). Mean amount of the resected tissue in sclerosis of urinary bladder cervix was 7 g (5-11 g), in prostatic adenoma--41 g (10-85 g), prostatic cancer--27 g (17-49 g). In postoperative period tamponade of the urinary bladder developed in 2 (1.5%) patients. Red cell transfusions were not necessary. Incontinence was observed in 7 (5.3%) patients after removal of urethral catheter, in 5 (3.8%) patients it stopped spontaneously to the time of discharge from the hospital, 2 (1.5%) patients with prostatic cancer retained partial orthostatic incontinence. TURis raised Qmax from 8.1 to 19.8 ml/s, on the average. The scores by IPSS fell from 20.8 to 7.5, QoL--from 5.1 to 3.7, on the average. Residual urine after operation reached 35 ml maximum. Informative value of histological material rose significantly in view of a minimal zone of coagulatory changes in the samples. Standard time limitation for transurethral resection (60-90 min) becomes insignificant in using isotonic irrigation allowing urologists to resect safely larger adenomas than it was possible earlier.

RESUMEN

The paper describes the method of elimination of the upper urinary tract uroliths using a combination of the following modalities: sinusoidal modulated currents, drinking of artificial radon water, radon water baths and no-spa medication. Evacuation of the concrements or their fragments from the upper urinary tracts reached 80%.

RESUMEN

The authors consider four principal physiotherapeutic complexes applied in stone-eliminating therapy of patients with urolithiasis and mechanisms of action of these physical factors. In all cases of stones detection in the upper urinary tracts lithokinetic therapy begins with therapeutic impacts on the area of the affected kidney and upper ureter followed by the action on the affected part of the ureter.

RESUMEN

Combined aftercare with mud applications, sinusoidal modulated currents (SMC) and UV radiation of autoblood was compared to conventional drug therapy in 56 and 30 patients, respectively, having chronic prostatitis with reproductive dysfunction. It was found that the combined aftercare raises the treatment efficiency due to a favourable effect on the immune system, inflammation in the prostate and spermatogenesis. It also promotes long-term remission.

RESUMEN

43 patients with psychogenic erectile dysfunction aged 20-43 years received therapeutic complex including local negative pressure and electric sleep or Charcot's douche. The results obtained show that this complex in effective in erectile dysfunctions secondary to stress, neurosis and chronic fatigue syndrome.

RESUMEN

155 patients with fragments of the crushed stones in the upper urinary tract after lithotripsy were divided into 3 groups. 60 patients of group 1 received dynamic amplipulse therapy, oral mineral water, iodobromine baths. Elimination of the fragments was observed in 91.7% of the patients. Group 2 patients (n = 60) were exposed to local vibration, ultrasound and iodobromine baths. The effect occurred in 96.7% of the cases. 35 patients of group 3 were exposed to impulse low-frequency magnetic field and took iodobromine baths. The elimination of the fragments occurred in 62.9% of the cases after a single treatment course.

RESUMEN

100 patients with sexual dysfunction (SD) and 20 SD patients took turpentine white emulsion baths and sodium chloride baths, respectively. The turpentine baths were given with step-by-step rise in turpentine concentration from 20 to 50 ml per 200 l of water, temperature 36-37 degrees C, duration of the procedure 10-15 min. The course consisted of 10-12 procedures which were conducted daily or each other day. The turpentine baths were more effective than sodium chloride baths (85 vs 50%, respectively).

RESUMEN

103 patients with chronic prostatitis complicated by erectile impotence were given combined treatment including shock-wave massage, mud applications, local vacuum magnetotherapy. This combination was found to stimulate copulative function, urodynamics of the lower urinary tracts, to produce an antiinflammatory effect. These benefits allow to recommend the above physical factors for management of chronic prostatitis patients with copulative dysfunction.

RESUMEN

105 patients with chronic nonspecific prostatitis were examined and treated with papaverin electrophoresis using sinusoidal modulated currents (SMC) and local vacuum magnetotherapy (LVMT). Papaverin SMC electrophoresis and LVMT stimulated cavernous circulation. The highest stimulation was achieved at successive use of LVMT and the electrophoresis. LVMT followed by the electrophoresis maintained good cavernous circulation for 5-6 hours after the procedure in the course of which several spontaneous erections were observed.
