RESUMEN

The rapid development of traditional Chinese medicine enterprises has put forward higher requirements for the resource utilization of traditional Chinese medicine residues (TCMR). Aerobic composting of TCMR to prepare bio-organic fertilizer is an effective resource utilization method. In this study, a back-propagation artificial neural network (BPNN) model using composting factors as inputs (C/N, initial moisture content, type of inoculant, composting days) and the humic acid content as the output was constructed based on the orthogonal test data. BPNN-GA (a genetic algorithm) was used for extreme value optimization, and the optimal composting process parameter combination was obtained and verified. The results show that the combination of orthogonal testing and BPNN can effectively establish the relationship between the composting process parameters and humic acid content. The R2 value was 0. 9064. The optimized parameter combination is as follows: C/N,37.42; moisture content,69.76%; bacteria,no; and composting time,50 d.

RESUMEN

Immature dendritic cells (iDCs) play very important roles in the pathological process of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Therefore, it is urgent to search for natural products with antiproliferative activity on iDCs for anti-RA drug discovery. Erycibe schmidtii, a traditional Chinese medicine, has been used to treat RA in China. Its bioactive ingredients on RA are still unclear. In this study, twenty compounds including a new caffeoylquinic acid derivative, 3-O-caffeoyl-4-O-syringoylquinic acid methyl ester (16), were isolated from E. schmidtii. Their structures were elucidated by NMR and mass spectroscopic analysis, and comparison with literature data. Seventeen compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time, and ten were first found from the genus Erycibe. Scopoletin (1, 5.0 µM) functionally reduced proliferation level of bone marrow immature dendritic cells (BM-iDCs) more than 50%, relative to vehicle. However, scopoletin (1) exhibited no effect on the phagocytosis or survival of BM-iDCs in vitro.

RESUMEN

The microstructure of the pectin/whey protein isolate mixtures under incompatible conditions was investigated using dynamic light scattering spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and shear-viscosity model. Under the condition of 90 degrees C and pH 7.4, the presence of negatively charged pectin could induce depletion aggregation in a 5% protein solution, and promote phase separation; precisely, when the mass ratio of pectin/whey protein isolate was lower than 0.08, the hydrodynamic size of the aggregates was less than 300 nm, and the system showed Newtonian properties; when the mass ratio was higher than 0.08, the viscosity of the solution increased rapidly, the shear thinning properties became obvious and the size of the aggregates was close to 700 nm.
