RESUMEN

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: For many years, medicine has been looking for effective methods to be used in the treatment of chronic wounds. Pharmacological treatment is insufficient and does not give expected results of treatment. In the comprehensive treatment of wounds, physical medicine methods have been used, which are characterized by high efficiency and safety as well as relatively low costs of the therapy. Efficient application of a novel therapeutic modality in the form of topical ozone therapy in the treatment of a difficult-to-heal wound of the left knee joint after surgery due to the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and damage to the medial meniscus because of a previous road accident in a 61-year-old female patient is presented. METHODS: Topical ozone therapy treatment in the form of the "Ozone bag" with the use of an oxygen-ozone mixture (2.86% ozone and 97.14% of oxygen) with a concentration of 40 µg/mL was applied to the wound area. The therapeutic cycle consisted of two series of 10 treatment sessions lasting 20 min each, performed every day for 5 days a week, and carried out for 6 weeks. RESULTS: Topical ozone therapy caused complete healing of the complicated wound remaining after orthopaedic surgery, which allowed the patient to live independently without experiencing pain, to move without elbow crutches, and to perform daily activities independently and ultimately to return to work.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: Intense development of methods belonging to physical medicine has been noted recently. There are treatment methods, which in many cases lead to reduction treatment time and positively influence on quality of life treatment patients. RESEARCH IMPLICATIONS: The present physical medicine systematically extends their therapeutic possibilities. This above applies to illnesses and injuries of locomotor system, diseases affecting of soft tissues, as well as chronic wounds. THE AIM OF THE STUDY: The evidence on this are the results of basic and clinical examinations relating the practical use of electromagnetic fields in medicine. ORIGINALITY: In this work the authors introduced the procedure using the current knowledge relating to physical characteristic and biological effects of the magnetic fields. In the work the following methods were used: static magnetic fields, spatial magnetic fields, the variable magnetic fields both with laser therapy (magnetolaserotherapy) and variable magnetic fields both with light optical non-laser (magnetoledtherapy) talked.

RESUMEN

Anal fissures occur most often as a result of mechanical damage or strenuous activity or cracks in structures lining the final stretch of the anal canal. They can also be the result of frequent constipation and anal intercourse. The consequence of these changes are creating cracks, sores and painful rectal spasms that cause very intense and uncomfortable pain. Initially conservative treatment is introduced. In the absence of satisfactory results, the only effective treatment is surgery. In this paper he results of treatment of a 63-year-old patient after surgery of anal fissures is introduced. The treatment included magnetledtherapy procedures. For several years, the patientfelt a persistent and very strong pain. Aftertreatment, there is significant pain relief occurring and significant improvement in quality oflife of the patient. The results of treatment show that in the complex process of treatment it is also essential to take into accountthe procedures of physical medicine.

RESUMEN

Chronic venous insufficiency, as well as crural vein ulceration, developing at its background, poses a serious clinical problem. Treatment is costly and lengthy. Intense development of physical medicine allows to reduce the time of treatment, as well as to improve the life quality in numerous soft tissue ailments, including wounds that are hard to heal. This article presents the beneficial results of treatment of a 67-year-old woman patient with a diagnosis of crural vein ulceration in the right limb. The applied physiotherapeutic method, in the form of magnetostimulation, contributed to complete healing of the lesion, subsidence of symptoms, as well as improved life quality of the treated patient.

RESUMEN

Ocular infections are one of the most frequent causes of ailments among the patients coming to ophthalmologic offices. This article presents one of the physical medicine's methods--magnetotherapy--which uses the alternating low frequency magnetic fields in the therapy of viral conjunctivitis and keratitis in a 49-year-old female patient. Basing on the obtained results it was stated that this method broadens the treatment possibilities becoming a precious supplement and support treatment method in ophthalmology.

RESUMEN

It is commonly believed that direct suggestibility, referring to overt influence, and indirect suggestibility, in which the intention to influence is hidden, correlate poorly. This study demonstrates that they are substantially related, provided that they tap similar areas of influence. Test results from 103 students, 55 women and 48 men, were entered into regression analyses. Indirect suggestibility, as measured by the Sensory Suggestibility Scale for Groups, and compliance, measured by the Gudjonsson Compliance Scale, were predictors of direct suggestibility, assessed with the Barber Suggestibility Scale. Spectral analyses showed that indirect suggestibility is more related to difficult tasks on the BSS, but compliance is more related to easy tasks on this scale.
