RESUMEN
Experiments on 107 rats have been made to validate use of ultraphonophoresis of 1% oil extract of polar lipids from silt sulphide muds for treatment of pathological skin scars. Peloidoultraphonophoresis was found able to transform the scars into regenerates of the skin type characterized by the presence of hair, sebaceous glands, elastic fibers, complete recovery of epidermis. The above peloidotherapy increased the number of vessels, tissue basophils in the scar and surrounding skin but decreased the number and severity of pathological alterations in nervous fibers.

Ultraphonophoresis of 1% oil solution of eplir in patients with acute inflammation of the uterine appendages as an adjuvant to drug therapy enhances the latter by immediate (anesthetic, antiexudative action), short-term (immunocorrection) and long-term (preservation and restoration of reproductive function, prevention of chronicity) treatment results.

Eplir ultraphonophoresis started on day 5 of experimental inflammation of the uterine appendages in the presence of antibacterial therapy reduces the severity of exudative processes, hemodynamic disorders, leukocytic infiltration, follicular atresia, prevents growth of connective tissue stroma.

Patients with neurological symptoms of spinal osteochondrosis in exacerbation took reduced intensive courses of physiotherapy which consisted of ultraphonophoresis of 1% oil solution of polar fraction of lipids from sulfide mud (eplir). The course included 12 daily procedures. Positive functional changes and those in vertebroneurological status support high efficacy and good tolerance of such short courses.

Short-term mud therapy (10 daily peat [correction of moor] applications) has been performed in patients with neurological symptoms of spinal osteochondrosis. Such short-term courses are indicated in the absence of exacerbation of the basic and associated diseases under domination of the radicular and reflex syndromes. High efficacy and good tolerance of the treatment are confirmed by vertebroneurological investigations and functional diagnostic tests.

The study of stomach morphology and function in chronic gastritis treated with phonophoresis of dry mud extract solutions demonstrates a stimulating effect of the treatment on acid production. A positive response was also registered on the part of the structure of gastric mucous lining and functional activity of this epithelium.

The paper presents the results of the examination and treatment of 59 and 44 patients subjected to gastric resection for gastroduodenal ulcer early and late after the surgery, respectively. Special courses of aftertreatment are suggested. Electrophoresis of Karachi [correction of Karachinskaya] mud-water solution was explored as a component of the treatment.
