RESUMEN

The protection, development, and utilization of medicinal plant resources are important cornerstones of maintaining human health. However, due to factors such as the reduction of high-quality land resources, deterioration of ecological environments, and excessive and disorderly resource development, medicinal plant resources are becoming scarce, and some of them are insufficiently supplied. With the proposal of "the Belt and Road" Initiative, the cooperation between China and "the Belt and Road" partners(the countries and regions involved in "the Belt and Road" Initiative)is increasingly close, which provides a new opportunity for carrying out trade of medicinal plant resources and alleviating the problem of imbalance and relative inadequacy of medicinal plant resources in countries. This study first determined the distribution and species information of plant resources in countries and regions involved in "the Belt and Road" Initiative by investigating the database of plant distribution and that of medicinal plant resources. Then, according to the published data from the International Union for Conservation of Nature(IUCN) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora(CITES), this study identified the rare and endangered medicinal plants and the medicinal plants under trade control in countries and regions involved in "the Belt and Road" Initiative and finally sorted out the list of potential medicinal plant resources in countries and regions involved in "the Belt and Road" Initiative that can be used by China. This data resource can not only be used for the overall protection of important endangered species but also scientifically guide the development and utilization of medicinal resources, providing guidance and a theoretical basis for the sustainable development of medicinal plant resources in countries and regions involved in "the Belt and Road" Initiative.

HEADINGS ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Sangbaipi Decoction (SBPD) is an effective treatment for lung diseases caused by phlegm-heat obstruction according to Jingyue Quanshu, and soothes panting by purging the lung meridian. It is composed of anti-pyretic herbs (e.g., Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and Coptis chinensis Franch.) and antitussive herbs (e.g., Cortex Mori and Armeniacae Semen Amarum). Therefore, we hypothesized that SBPD has therapeutic effects on lung injury caused by influenza virus. AIM OF THE STUDY: This study aimed to explore anti-influenza activity, active components, and mechanisms of SBPD. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The anti-influenza activities of SBPD were determined in 48 h drug-treated MDCK cell model using CPE and plaque reduction assays, and 24 h drug-treated A549 cells using qRT-PCR. The in vivo efficacy of SBPD (1.0 g/kg/day and 0.5 g/kg/day) was evaluated in PR8 infected BALB/c mice. The chemical component was assessed through HPLC-Q-TOF MS/MS analysis. Network pharmacology was built via TCMSP, GeneCards, DisgeNet, OMIM, DrugBank databases, and Cytoscape software. Additionally, TOA, HI and NAI assays were employed to investigate impact on the virus replication cycle with different concentrations of SBPD (2.5 mg/mL, 1.25 mg/mL, or 0.625 mg/mL). RESULTS: In MDCK infected with viruses A/PR/8/34, A/Hong Kong/1/68, or A/California/4/2009, the IC50 values of SBPD were 0.80 mg/mL, 1.20 mg/mL, and 1.25 mg/mL. In A549 cells, SBPD treatment reduced cytokine expression (e.g., TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1ß) (p < 0.05). In PR8 infected BALB/c mice, SBPD improved the survival rate of infected mice, reduced lung index (p < 0.05), protected lung tissue from pathological damage, and regulated cytokine overexpression (p < 0.05). 29 components of SBPD were identified in SBPD treated mouse serum including some phytochemicals targeting influenza proteins. HI and NAI assays suggested the potential antiviral mechanism of SBPD through inhibition of HA and NA. CONCLUSION: This study is the first to demonstrate the anti-influenza and the anti-inflammatory effects of SBPD in vitro and in vivo. Its major anti-influenza phytochemicals were explored and its inhibitory effects on HA and NA protein were proved. It provides more options for anti-influenza drug discovery.

Regorafenib is a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor with severe hepatotoxicity. It undergoes metabolism mainly by CYP3A4 to generate active metabolites regorafenib-N-oxide (M2) and N-desmethyl-regorafenib-N-oxide (M5). Wuzhi capsule (WZC) is an herbal preparation derived from Schisandra sphenanthera and is potentially used to prevent regorafenib-induced hepatotoxicity. This study aims to explore the effect of WZC on the pharmacokinetics of regorafenib in rats. An efficient and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was developed to quantitatively determine regorafenib and its main metabolites in rat plasma. The proposed method was applied to the pharmacokinetic study of regorafenib in rats, with or without WZC. Coadministration of regorafenib with WZC resulted in a prolonged mean residence time (MRT) of the parent drug but had no statistically significant difference in other pharmacokinetic parameters. While for the main metabolites of regorafenib, WZC decreased the area under the curve and maximum concentration (Cmax ), delayed the time to reach Cmax , and prolonged the MRT of M2 and M5. These results indicate that WZC delayed and inhibited the metabolism of regorafenib to M2 and M5 by suppressing CYP3A4. Our study provides implications for the rational use of the WZC-regorafenib combination in clinical practice.

Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) has caused massive economic losses in the cattle business worldwide. Fatty acid synthase (FASN), a key enzyme of the fatty acid synthesis (FAS) pathway, has been shown to support virus replication. To investigate the role of fatty acids (FAs) in BVDV infection, we infected CD8+T lymphocytes obtained from healthy cattle with BVDV in vitro. During early cytopathic (CP) and noncytopathic (NCP) BVDV infection in CD8+ T cells, there is an increase in de novo lipid biosynthesis, resulting in elevated levels of free fatty acids (FFAs) and triglycerides (TG). BVDV infection promotes de novo lipid biosynthesis in a dose-dependent manner. Treatment with the FASN inhibitor C75 significantly reduces the phosphorylation of PI3K and AKT in BVDV-infected CD8+ T cells, while inhibition of PI3K with LY294002 decreases FASN expression. Both CP and NCP BVDV strains promote de novo fatty acid synthesis by activating the PI3K/AKT pathway. Further investigation shows that pharmacological inhibitors targeting FASN and PI3K concurrently reduce FFAs, TG levels, and ATP production, effectively inhibiting BVDV replication. Conversely, the in vitro supplementation of oleic acid (OA) to replace fatty acids successfully restored BVDV replication, underscoring the impact of abnormal de novo fatty acid metabolism on BVDV replication. Intriguingly, during BVDV infection of CD8+T cells, the use of FASN inhibitors prompted the production of IFN-α and IFN-ß, as well as the expression of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs). Moreover, FASN inhibitors induce TBK-1 phosphorylation through the activation of RIG-1 and MDA-5, subsequently activating IRF-3 and ultimately enhancing the IFN-1 response. In conclusion, our study demonstrates that BVDV infection activates the PI3K/AKT pathway to boost de novo fatty acid synthesis, and inhibition of FASN suppresses BVDV replication by activating the RIG-1/MDA-5-dependent IFN response.

SCOPE: Astaxanthin (AST) is ubiquitous in aquatic foods and microorganisms. The study previously finds that docosahexaenoic acid-acylated AST monoester (AST-DHA) improves cognitive function in Alzheimer's disease (AD), although the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Moreover, autophagy is reportedly involved in amyloid-ß (Aß) clearance and AD pathogenesis. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the preventive effect of AST-DHA and elucidates the mechanism of autophagy modulation in Aß pathology. METHODS AND RESULTS: In the cellular AD model, AST-DHA significantly reduces toxic Aß1-42 levels and alleviated the accumulation of autophagic markers (LC3II/I and p62) in Aß25-35 -induced SH-SY5Y cells. Notably, AST-DHA restores the autophagic flux in SH-SY5YmRFP-GFP-LC3 cells. In APP/PS1 mice, a 3-month dietary supplementation of AST-DHA exceeded free-astaxanthin (F-AST) capacity to increase hippocampal and cortical autophagy. Mechanistically, AST-DHA restores autophagy by activating the ULK1 signaling pathway and restoring autophagy-lysosome fusion. Moreover, AST-DHA relieves ROS production and mitochondrial stress affecting autophagy in AD. As a favorable outcome of restored autophagy, AST-DHA mitigates cerebral Aß and p-Tau deposition, ultimately improving neuronal function. CONCLUSION: The findings demonstrate that AST-DHA can rectify autophagic impairment in AD, and confer neuroprotection in Aß-related pathology, which supports the future application of AST as an autophagic inducer for maintaining brain health.

Artemisia argyi Levl. Et Vant, commonly known as "Chinese Mugwort," has been utilized in traditional Chinese medicine and cuisine for centuries. Aged Chinese Mugwort has been uncovered to possess superior quality and safety, and its ethyl acetate extract has been found to exhibit anti-hepatitis B virus (HBV) activity. In this study, twenty-five sesquiterpenoids were isolated and characterized from three-year-aged A. argyi. Among them, 14 previously undescribed sesquiterpenoids (1-14), featuring double bond oxidation or ring opening. It is hypothesized that during the aging process, sesquiterpenes undergo oxidative transformation of their double bonds to form alcohols due to external factors and inherent properties. The anti-HBV activity and cytotoxicity of all compounds were assessed in vitro using HepG 2.2.15 cells, and their structure-activity relationships were analyzed through three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QASR) techniques. The α-methylene-γ-lactone sesquiterpenoid derivatives were discovered to have potent inhibitory activity against HBV. This research may broaden the potential applications of Chinese Mugwort and offer further guidance for its development and utilization as functional food or traditional Chinese medicine.

Leaf nutrient resorption and drought resistance are crucial for the growth and survival of plants. However, our understanding of the relationships between leaf nutrient resorption and plant drought resistance is still limited. In this study, we investigated the nitrogen and phosphorus resorption efficiencies (NRE and PRE), leaf structural traits, leaf osmotic potential at full hydration (Ψosm), xylem water potential at 50% loss of xylem-specific hydraulic conductivity (P50) and seasonal minimum water potential (Ψmin) for 18 shrub and tree species in a semiarid savanna ecosystem, in Southwest China. Our results showed that NRE and PRE exhibited trade-off against drought resistance traits (Ψosm and P50) across woody species. Moreover, this relationship was modulated by leaf structural investment. Species with low structural investment (e.g., leaf mass per area, leaf dry mass content and leaf construction cost [LCC]) tend to have high NRE and PRE, while those with high LCCs show high drought resistance, showing more negative Ψosm and P50.These results indicate that species with a lower leaf structural investment may have a greater need to recycle their nutrients, thus exhibiting higher nutrient resorption efficiencies, and vice versa. In conclusion, nutrient resorption efficiency may be a crucial adaptation strategy for coexisting plants in semiarid ecosystems, highlighting the importance of understanding the complex relationships between nutrient cycling and plant survival strategies.

Starting from the perspective of meridian theory, this article briefly analyzes the meridian pathophysiology of snoring and the relationship between snoring and meridian theory. It proposes that acupuncture treatment for snoring should focus on regulating qi from the shaoyang meridians, harmonizing the spirit by the governor vessel, resolving phlegm through the three yang meridians, and harmonizing qi and blood from the yangming meridians. Additionally, attention is placed on both the root cause and the symptoms, the theory of "four seas". The ultimate goal is to promote the flow of meridian and qi-blood, improve symptoms such as nighttime snoring, poor sleep quality, and daytime sleepiness, and achieve the desired outcome of stopping snoring and ensuring restful sleep.

Due to various constraints, such as clinical implementation conditions and unique characteristics of acupuncture-moxibustion, some randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of acupuncture-moxibustion still suffer from relatively low quality and limited applicability. The single-arm objective performance criteria/performance goal can be considered as an ideal supplementary and alternative research approach to RCTs. In this paper, the feasibility of applying the single-arm objective performance criteria/performance goal in acupuncture-moxibustion clinical research is explored from the limitations of conducting acupuncture-moxibustion RCTs, the principles, the essential design considerations and key statistical steps. In addition, illustrative examples are provided. The objective is to offer insights into resolving practical difficulties in acupuncture-moxibustion clinical research.

This study constructed a nano-drug delivery system, A3@GMH, by co-delivering the stapled anoplin peptide(Ano-3, A3) with the light-harvesting material graphene oxide(GO), and evaluated its oncolytic immunotherapy effect on triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC). A3@GMH was prepared using an emulsion template method and its physicochemical properties were characterized. The in vivo and in vitro photothermal conversion abilities of A3@GMH were investigated using an infrared thermal imager. The oncoly-tic activity of A3@GMH against TNBC 4T1 cells was evaluated through cell counting kit-8(CCK-8), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) release, live/dead cell staining, and super-resolution microscopy. The targeting properties of A3@GMH on 4T1 cells were assessed using a high-content imaging system and flow cytometry. In vitro and in vivo studies were conducted to investigate the antitumor mechanism of A3@GMH in combination with photothermal therapy(PTT) through inducing immunogenic cell death(ICD) in 4T1 cells. The results showed that the prepared A3@GMH exhibited distinct mesoporous and coated structures with an average particle size of(308.9±7.5) nm and a surface potential of(-6.79±0.58) mV. The encapsulation efficiency and drug loading of A3 were 23.9%±0.6% and 20.5%±0.5%, respectively. A3@GMH demonstrated excellent photothermal conversion ability and biological safety. A3@GMH actively mediated oncolytic features such as 4T1 cell lysis and LDH release, as well as ICD effects, and showed enhanced in vitro antitumor activity when combined with PTT. In vivo, A3@GMH efficiently induced ICD effects with two rounds of PTT, activated the host's antitumor immune response, and effectively suppressed tumor growth in 4T1 tumor-bearing mice, achieving an 88.9% tumor inhibition rate with no apparent toxic side effects. This study suggests that the combination of stapled anoplin peptide and PTT significantly enhances the oncolytic immunotherapy for TNBC and provides a basis for the innovative application of anti-tumor peptides derived from TCM in TNBC treatment.

Buckwheat green leaves are commonly consumed as functional tea materials due to their various beneficial effects. Although buckwheat green leaves have abundant soluble dietary fibers (SDFs), the information about their structural properties and functional properties remains unknown, largely hindering their applications as functional/health products. Hence, to enhance the usage and application of SDFs from buckwheat green leaves as value-added health products, the structures and biological activities of SDFs derived from different buckwheat green leaves were investigated and compared. Results revealed that SDFs derived from Tartary buckwheat green leaves (TBSDF) and common buckwheat green leaves (CBSDF) were rich in complex pectic-polysaccharides, mainly composing of homogalacturonan (HG) and rhamnogalacturonan I (RG I) pectic domains. Besides, TBSDF had higher proportion of RG I pectic domains than that of CBSDF. Furthermore, the existence of a high content of complex pectic-polysaccharides in TBSDF and CBSDF could contribute to their various biological activities, such as antioxidant, antiglycation, fat/bile acid binding, anticancer, and prebiotic effects. These results can provide some new insights into further development of buckwheat green leaves and related SDFs as value-added health products.

Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge is a natural drug for treating myocardial infarction (MI). However, the targets and mechanisms of S. miltiorrhiza Bunge in the treatment of MI are yet to be elucidated. Traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology (TCMSP) data were used to screen out chemical constituents, and UniProt was used to predict relevant targets. Disease targets were obtained from the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man and GeneCards databases. We used the STRING platform to build a protein-protein interaction network and used Cytoscape_v3.8.1 software to make a Drug-Ingredients-Gene Symbols-Disease network map. The Metascape database was used to perform gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopaedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses for drug-disease overlapping gene symbols. The targets identified by network pharmacology were further verified by in vitro and in vivo experiments. Seventy-five active components of S. miltiorrhiza Bunge were obtained from the TCMSP database, while 370 disease targets and 29 cross-targets were obtained from the Genecards database. The KEGG pathway enrichment results suggested that the mechanism of S. miltiorrhiza Bunge in the treatment of MI was significantly related to the VEGF signalling pathway. In vitro and in vivo experiments were used to evaluate the reliability of some important active ingredients and targets. S. miltiorrhiza Bunge alleviated the damage to cardiac function, attenuated myocardial fibrosis and protected endothelial cell function by increasing the expression of TGF-ß and VEGFA. S. miltiorrhiza Bunge showed the therapeutic effect of MI by promoting the expression of VEGFA signalling pathway, providing a reliable basis for exploring herbal treatment of MI.

Regulation of diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT) and pancreatic lipase (PL) activities is important in the treatment of triacylglycerol (TG)-related metabolic diseases. Garcinia mangostana, also known as mangosteen, is a traditional medicine ingredient used in the treatment of inflammation in Southeast Asia. In this study, The ethanolic extract of G. mangostana peel inhibited human recombinant DGAT1 and DGAT2, and PL enzyme activities in vitro. The inhibitory activity of DGAT1 and DGAT2 enzymes of four representative bioactive substances in mangosteen was confirmed. In addition, G. mangostana was confirmed to suppress the serum TG levels in C57 mice by inhibiting the absorption and synthesis of TG in the gastrointestinal tract. Through this study, it was revealed that G. mangostana extract could be useful for the prevention and amelioration of TG-related metabolic diseases such as obesity and fatty liver.

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes respiratory difficulties. Black ginseng extract (BGE) has preventative effects on respiratory inflammatory diseases such as asthma. However, the pharmacological mechanisms behind the anti-asthmatic activity of BGE remain unknown. To investigate the anti-asthmatic mechanism of BGE, phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate plus ionomycin (PMA/Iono)-stimulated mouse EL4 cells and ovalbumin (OVA)-induced mice with allergic airway inflammation were used. Immune cells (eosinophils/macrophages), interleukin (IL)-4, -5, -13, and serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Inflammatory cell recruitment and mucus secretion in the lung tissue were estimated. Protein expression was analyzed via Western blotting, including that of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and the activation of protein kinase C theta (PKCθ) and its downstream signaling molecules. BGE decreased T helper (Th)2 cytokines, serum IgE, mucus secretion, and iNOS expression in mice with allergic airway inflammation, thereby providing a protective effect. Moreover, BGE and its major ginsenosides inhibited the production of Th2 cytokines in PMA/Iono-stimulated EL4 cells. In EL4 cells, these outcomes were accompanied by the inactivation of PKCθ and its downstream transcription factors, such as nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT), nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), activator of transcription 6 (STAT6), and GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3), which are involved in allergic airway inflammation. BGE also inhibited the activation of PKCθ and the abovementioned transcriptional factors in the lung tissue of mice with allergic airway inflammation. These results highlight the potential of BGE as a useful therapeutic and preventative agent for allergic airway inflammatory diseases such as allergic asthma.

This study summarizes the clinical thinking of acupuncture for snoring based on "disharmony qi leads to restlessness". According to the pathological characteristics of qi stagnation and blood stasis, phlegm dampness and internal obstruction in snoring patients, combined with the etiology, pathogenesis and location of the disease, the innovative viewpoint of "disharmony qi leads to restlessness" is proposed. It is believed that the key to snoring treatment lies in "regulating qi ". In clinical practice, acupuncture can directly regulate the qi of the disease's location, regulate the qi of the organs and viscera, and regulate the qi of the meridians to achieve overall regulation of the body's internal and external qi, smooth circulation of qi and blood, and ultimately achieve the therapeutic goal of harmonizing qi, stopping snoring, and improving sleep quality.

A rapid pressurized capillary electrochromatography (pCEC) method has been established for the simultaneous analysis of 11 phenols in the four main original plants of the famous traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Shihu. The effects of wavelength, mobile phase, flow rate, pH value, concentration of buffer, and applied voltage were systematically studied. The investigated 11 phenols could be isolated in 35 min on a reversed-phase EP-100-20/45-3-C18 capillary column using the established method. To apply the established pCEC method, all phenols except tristin (11) were detected in the four Dendrobium plants. A total of 10 components were detected in D. huoshanense, 6 components in D. nobile, 3 components in D. chrysotoxum, and 4 components in D. fimbriatum. The consistent evaluation revealed that the similarities among the four original plants of Shihu were 38.2-86.0% based on the 11 polyphenols and 92.5-97.7% based on the pCEC fingerprints. These further suggested that the components of the four original plants of TCM Shihu might be significantly different. Further investigation should be conducted to confirm and evaluate if the four species could be used as the same medicine with the same amount according to Chinese Pharmacopoeia (ChP).

In this study, isomerization conditions, cytotoxic activity, and stabilization of amygdalin from peach kernels were analyzed. Temperatures greater than 40 °C and pHs above 9.0 resulted in a quickly increasing isomer ratio (L-amygdalin/D-amygdalin). At acidic pHs, isomerization was significantly inhibited, even at high temperature. Ethanol inhibited isomerization; the isomer rate decreased with the ethanol concentration increasing. The growth-inhibitory effect on HepG2 cells of D-amygdalin was diminished as the isomer ratio increased, indicating that isomerization reduces the pharmacological activity of D-amygdalin. Extracting amygdalin from peach kernels by ultrasonic power at 432 W and 40 °C in 80% ethanol resulted in a 1.76% yield of amygdalin with a 0.04 isomer ratio. Hydrogel beads prepared by 2% sodium alginate successfully encapsulated the amygdalin, and its encapsulation efficiency and drug loading rate reached 85.93% and 19.21%, respectively. The thermal stability of amygdalin encapsulated in hydrogel beads was significantly improved and reached a slow-release effect in in vitro digestion. This study provides guidance for the processing and storage of amygdalin.

BACKGROUND: Selenium metabolism has been implicated in human health. This study aimed to identify a selenium metabolism regulator-based prognostic signature for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and validate the role of INMT in HCC. METHODS: Transcriptome sequencing data and clinical information related to selenium metabolism regulators in TCGA liver cancer dataset were analysed. Next, a selenium metabolism model was constructed by multiple machine learning algorithms, including univariate, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator, and multivariate Cox regression analyses. Then, the potential of this model for predicting the immune landscape of different risk groups was evaluated. Finally, INMT expression was examined in different datasets. After knockdown of INMT, cell proliferation and colony formation assays were conducted. RESULTS: A selenium metabolism model containing INMT and SEPSECS was established and shown to be an independent predictor of prognosis. The survival time of low-risk patients was significantly longer than that of high-risk patients. These two groups had different immune environments. In different datasets, including TCGA, GEO, and our PUMCH dataset, INMT was significantly downregulated in HCC tissues. Moreover, knockdown of INMT significantly promoted HCC cell proliferation. CONCLUSIONS: The current study established a risk signature of selenium metabolism regulators for predicting the prognosis of HCC patients. INMT was identified as a biomarker for poor prognosis of HCC.

BACKGROUND: Bone cancer pain (BCP) remains a clinical challenge due to the limited and side effects of therapeutic methods. Folic acid has been known as an FDA approved dietary supplement and proved to have an analgesic effect in neuropathic pain. Here we investigate the role and mechanism of folic acid in bone cancer pain of a rat model. METHODS: Walker 256 tumor cells were inoculated into the left tibia of rats to induce bone cancer pain model. Pain reflex were assessed by paw withdrawal threshold (PWT) response to Von Frey filaments and paw withdrawal latency (PWL) response to thermal stimulation. Folic acid was injected intraperitoneally to evaluate its analgesic effect in rats with bone cancer pain. Western blotting and qPCR were used to determine P2X2/3 receptor protein and mRNA levels in ipsilateral L4-6 dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and spinal dorsal horn (SDH). RESULTS: The PWT and PWL of rats with bone cancer pain were obviously decreased compared to the naïve and sham rats. Interestingly, continuous folic acid treatment significantly increased the PWT and PWL of rats with bone cancer pain. P2X2 and P2X3 receptors were clearly upregulated at both mRNA and protein expression in L4-6 DRG and SDH of rats with bone cancer pain. P2X2 and P2X3 receptors were mainly localized with CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide) or IB4 (isolectin B4) positive neurons in L4-6 DRG of rats with bone cancer pain. Notably, continuous folic acid treatment significantly reduced the expression of P2X2 and P2X3 receptors in L4-6 DRG and SDH of rats with bone cancer pain. Finally, intrathecal injection of A317491 (a selective antagonist of P2X2/3 receptors) markedly elevated the PWT and PWL of rats with bone cancer pain. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that folic acid has an effective antinociceptive effect on bone cancer pain, which is mediated by downregulating P2X2/3 receptors in L4-6 DRG and SDH of rats with bone cancer pain. Folic acid may be a novel therapeutic strategy in cancer patients for pain relief.
