RESUMEN

Interactions between crude oil and its downstream products are crucial but complex. The main purpose of this study is to examine the risk spillover relationships between the crude oil futures market and the petrochemical downstream futures market in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic in China. By combining the dynamic conditional correlation-generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (DCC-GARCH) model and the Diebold-Yilmaz spillover index based on time-varying parameter-vector autoregression (TVP-VAR-DY), we investigate the dynamic correlations between Shanghai crude oil futures (INE) and the downstream futures in China's petrochemical industry chain. At the same time, we also incorporate the representative global crude oil futures (BRENT and WTI) in our study as a comparative analysis. Our results show a significant positive correlation between three crude oil futures and China's downstream future products, with a more pronounced link observed between INE and the downstream futures market. Moreover, the correlation between crude oil futures and various downstream products exhibits heterogeneity; that is, direct derivatives of crude oil show higher sensitivity to price fluctuations compared to products with longer production chains. Furthermore, the spillover results indicate that the international crude oil futures, particularly BRENT, primarily function as spillover transmitters, while INE mainly serves as the recipient. In the post-pandemic period, the international crude oil market still exhibits a high spillover effect, and the spillover effect of INE to polyvinyl chloride, pure terephthalic acid, and bitumen futures increased, reflecting market recovery in China to some extent. These results provide potential insights for policymakers, financial institutions, industry participants, and investors, emphasizing the importance of enhanced risk management, diversified investment strategies, and attention to market dynamics.

RESUMEN

Introduction: The primo vascular system (PVS), an intensive network structure, has been claimed to be representative of the acupuncture meridian. Here, we explored the role of the PVS in local enteritis and its modification by acupuncture. Methods: Chronic cecitis in rabbits was induced by 2,4,6-trinitro-benzene-sulfonic acid (TNBS). The PVS on the cecum was visualized with trypan blue staining, and collected with the help of microsurgical forceps under an optical stereomicroscope. Results: The increased primo vessels (PVs) and primo nodes (PNs) of the PVS on the surface of the cecum were induced by local inflammation, which was positively correlated with the inflammatory cells in the cecal mucosa. Tandem mass tag (TMT) based proteomic analysis revealed that 110 differentiated proteins of the PVS existed between TNBS-treated and control rabbits; 65 proteins were upregulated, while 45 proteins were downregulated. These proteins were mainly enriched in inflammation- and immunity-related processes, such as inflammatory cell proliferation, antigen presentation, and cell adhesion in the proliferated PVS (data are available via ProteomeXchange with the identifiers PXD034280). Importantly, TNBS-induced cecitis, the proliferated PVS and inflammation response-related proteins (CD40, CD45, HLA-DRA1, LAMP1, JAGN1 and FGL1) in the PVS were alleviated or reversed by repetitive electroacupuncture (EA) stimulations. Conclusion: These results suggest that the proliferated PVS and its active inclusions were related to the inflammatory process, which was modified by EA. Our study provides a new avenue for further exploration of the mechanism by which EA exerts anti-inflammatory effects.

RESUMEN

Resveratrol (RES) loaded Zein-SHA (low-molecular-weight sodium hyaluronate) nanoparticles with average diameter of about 152.13 nm and polydispersity index (PDI) of 0.122, which can be used to encapsulate, protect and deliver resveratrol. By measuring ABTS free radical scavenging ability and iron (III) reducing power, it was determined that encapsulated resveratrol has higher in vitro antioxidant activity than free resveratrol. When tested with murine breast cancer cells 4T1, the encapsulated resveratrol also showed higher antiproliferative activity than free resveratrol, with IC50 values of 14.73 and 17.84 µg/ml, respectively. The colloidal form of resveratrol developed in this research may be particularly suitable for functional foods and beverages, as well as dietary supplements and pharmaceutical products.

RESUMEN

We established a mouse model of allergic asthma by sensitizing with chicken ovalbumin. The volatile oils and decoctions from raw, wine- and vinegar-steamed Schisandra chinensis fruits were intragastrically administrated to the mice. Atomization, serum IgE, IL-2, IL-4 and IFN-γ in the lung homogenates and pathological sections were evaluated to compare the effect of these volatile oils and decoctions on allergic asthma in mice. The results showed that all Schisandra volatile oils could significantly suppress allergic asthma in mice. Raw Schisandra volatile oil was most effective followed by volatile oils extracted from wine-steamed and vinegar-steamed Schisandra. The decoctions had no significant impact. Our findings demonstrated that volatile oil was the active ingredient in Schisandra, and raw Schisandra could be used to prevent cough and asthma.

RESUMEN

To compare the effect of integration processing technology of origin (IPTO) and traditional cutting processing technology (TCPT) of Moslae Herba for lung-Yang deficiency rats caused by complex factors, analyze the mechanism, and provide the modern pharmacology basis for the implementation of IPTO of Moslae Herba. The rat models of lung-Yang deficiency were established by smoking + swimming in ice water + drinking ice water. The model rats were randomly divided into different groups, and were treated with intragastric administration for 30 d. Then the general signs, anal temperature and autonomic activity of the rats were observed. The pathological morphology of lung tissues was observed, and the positive expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) was observed by immunohistochemical method, and the hematological indexes were determined. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method was used to detect serum nitric oxide (NO), immunoglobulin G (IGG), malondialdehyde (MDA), thromboxane B2 (TXB2) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) level, and the organ coefficients of heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney and other organs were calculated. According to the results, Moslae Herba volatile oil and decoction could improve the general signs and autonomic activities of lung-Yang deficiency rats, improve the body weight, rectal temperature, and the content of IGG in serum of lung-Yang deficiency rats, reduce organ coefficients of heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney, serum NO, MDA, TXB2, IL-8 contents, white blood cell and TNF-α mean optical density in the lung tissues of rats. witg statistically significant difference (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The effects of IPTO volatile oil and water decoction were slightly higher. Therefore, Moslae Herba has therapeutic effect on lung-Yang deficiency rats, and ICPT has better effect, whose mechanism may be related to the intervention of TNF-α expression, improving the level of IGG, and inhibiting NO, MDA, IL-8, and TXB2 levels.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study the phamacokinetics and targeting characteristics of adriamyin in dogs following embolization of hepatic artery with adriamyin-lipiodol emulsion (AD-E). METHODS: After injection of adriamycin solution and the emulsion, respectively, into the hepatic artery via a femoral artery of the dogs, the concentration of adriamycin in the peripheral venous blood and hepatic tissue were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. RESULTS: The concentration of adriamycin in peripheral venous blood was significantly lowered after AD-E embolization in comparison with that after adriamycin solution injection. Adriamycin concentration in the hepatic tissue at 10, 24, and 48 h after AD-E embolization was 5.42, 3.33 and 2.38 times that of adrimycin solution group, respectively. CONCLUSION: Compared to adriamycin solution, AD-E as an embolic agent can significantly alter the serum pharmacokinetics and liver targeting characteristics of adriamycin.
