BACKGROUND: The cation/proton antiporter (CPA) superfamily plays a crucial role in regulating ion homeostasis and pH in plant cells, contributing to stress resistance. However, in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.), systematic identification and analysis of CPA genes are lacking. RESULTS: A total of 33 StCPA members were identified and classified into StNHX (n = 7), StKEA (n = 6), and StCHX (n = 20) subfamilies. StCHX owned the highest number of conserved motifs, followed by StKEA and StNHX. The StNHX and StKEA subfamilies owned more exons than StCHX. NaCl stress induced the differentially expression of 19 genes in roots or leaves, among which StCHX14 and StCHX16 were specifically induced in leaves, while StCHX2 and StCHX19 were specifically expressed in the roots. A total of 11 strongly responded genes were further verified by qPCR. Six CPA family members, StNHX1, StNHX2, StNHX3, StNHX5, StNHX6 and StCHX19, were proved to transport Na+ through yeast complementation experiments. CONCLUSIONS: This study provides comprehensive insights into StCPAs and their response to NaCl stress, facilitating further functional characterization.

Background: This study aimed to assess the overall reporting quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) formulas for patients with diabetes, and to identify factors associated with better reporting quality. Methods: Four databases including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science were systematically searched from their inception to December 2022. The reporting quality was assessed based on the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) statement and its CHM formula extension. The overall CONSORT and its CHM formula extension scores were calculated and expressed as proportions separately. We also analyzed the pre-specified study characteristics and performed exploratory regressions to determine their associations with the reporting quality. Results: Seventy-two RCTs were included. Overall reporting quality (mean adherence) were 53.56% and 45.71% on the CONSORT statement and its CHM formula extension, respectively. The strongest associations with reporting quality based on the CONSORT statement were multiple centers and larger author numbers. Compliance with the CHM formula extension, particularly regarding the disclosure of the targeted traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pattern (s), was generally insufficient. Conclusion: The reporting quality of RCTs in CHM formulas for diabetes remains unsatisfactory, and the adherence to the CHM formula extension is even poorer. In order to ensure transparent and standardized reporting of RCTs, it is essential to advocate for or even mandate adherence of the CONSORT statement and its CHM formula extension when reporting trials in CHM formulas for diabetes by both authors and editors.

The goal of this overview of systematic reviews (SRs) and meta-analyses (MAs) was to methodically gather, evaluate and summarize the data supporting the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to treat diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). The Cochrane Library, Embase, PubMed, Web of Science and Embase were all searched thoroughly to identify SRs/MAs that qualified. AMSTAR-2 tool, PRISMA checklists and GRADE system were applied by two reviewers independently to assess the methodological quality, reporting and evidence quality of the included SRs/MAs, respectively. Eleven SRs/MAs were enrolled in this overview. According to AMSTAR-2, a very low methodological quality assessment was given to the included SRs/MAs due to the limitations of items 2, 4 and 7. For the PRISMA, the overall quality of reporting is not satisfactory due to missing reporting on protocol, search, as well as additional analysis. The majority of outcomes had low- to moderate-quality evidence, and no high-quality evidence was found to support the role of HBOT for DFUs, according to GRADE. To conclude, the potential of HBOT in treating DFUs is supported by evidence of low to moderate quality. More rigorously designed, high-level studies are needed in the future to determine the evidence for HBOT for DFU, including the timing, frequency and duration of HBOT interventions.

Several studies showed the efficacy of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) in diabetic animals and patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the mechanism of LBP in alleviating T2DM based on glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP1) has not been suitably elucidated. GLP1 is an important peptide that plays a role in blood glucose homeostasis. Inhibition of sodium/glucose cotransporter 1 (SGLT1) can result in a net increase in GLP1 release. We found that LBP could reduce SGLT1 expression. Thus, the effects of LBP on the first- and second-phase secretion of GLP1 were systematically assessed in vitro using STC1 cells and in vivo using diabetic KKAy mice. LBP could induce the first-phase secretion of GLP1 by stimulating calcium ion influx in vitro and by inhibiting alpha-glucosidase activity in vivo. Regulation of Gcg gene expression by modulating the Wnt/ß-catenin and cAMP/Epac pathways, as well as inhibition of alpha-glucosidase activity, was responsible for the second-phase secretion of GLP1. LBP could stimulate GLP1 secretion; however, dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) activated by LBP might offset the second-phase secretion of GLP1. Thus, we suggest considering the simultaneous use of LBP and a DPP4 inhibitor to stimulate slow, continuous GLP1 secretion. Further studies are warranted for in-depth mechanistic information.

Context: Osteoarthritis (OA) impacted over 5-million people worldwide in 2018, with an incidence second only to diabetes and hypertension. Clinical research has had difficulty in finding methods to treat OA quickly and effectively. More and more researchers have begun to explore the effects of estrogen (ER) on OA. Objective: The study intended to conduct a meta-analysis of studies using ER in OA, aiming to confirm the potential value of ER, laying a foundation for follow-up research, and providing new choices for the treatment of OA. Design: The research team performed a literature review searching PubMed for clinical studies on the application of ER for the OA treatment or on the improvement of joint pain that: (1) were published after the year 2000, and (2) had participants who used ER compared to other treatment methods. The research team selected studies for analysis after independent screening by two members of the team, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and a methodological quality evaluation. The meta-analysis used RevMan V5.3 software. Intervention: The research team included eight studies with 11 689 participants, with 5776 participants who received ER treatments becoming the intervention group, and with 5913 participants who received other treatments becoming the control group. Outcome Measures: The outcome measures included the selected studies' results related: (1) to changes in the bone marker, collagen cross-linked C-telopeptide type I (CTX-1); (2) to the levels of bone Gla protein (BGP); (3) to joint-pain relief, and (4) to subjective scores on the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), a visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain, and the Short-Form 36 (SF-36). Results: The meta-analysis found that the CTX-II level was significantly lower (P < .0001) and the BGP level was significantly higher (P = .07) in the EG group than the levels in the control group. Similarly, the number of participants with joint pain in the ER group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P = .01), and a significant difference existed between the groups in the subjective scores (P = .02). Conclusion: ER can exert varying degrees of positive effects on OA and can effectively ameliorate the pathological process in OA patients, and it may become an alternative for OA treatment in the future, providing patients with better health and life quality.

Our study aims to investigate the efficacy and clinical significance of the Zuogui pill (ZGP) on premature ovarian failure (POF) via the GDF-9/Smad2 pathway. Changes in clinical symptoms in the control group (treated with Femoston alone) and the treatment group (treated with ZGP combined with Femoston) were assessed before and after treatment. Sex hormone levels, serum inflammatory cytokine levels, and ultrasound parameters were measured before and after treatment. POF rat models were established using cyclophosphamide and the POF rats were treated with Femoston, or ZGP combined with Femoston. GDF-9 and Smad2 expression levels were determined by RT-qPCR. The follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), interleukin (IL)-6, and IL-21 levels, and the pulsatility index (PI) and resistance index (RI) values were decreased, while the estradiol (E2) and anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) levels, antral follicle count (AFC), ovarian volume (OV), mean ovarian diameter (MOD), and peak systolic velocity (PSV) values were increased in the treatment group compared to the control group. After treatment with ZGP combined with Femoston, GDF-9 and Smad2 expression in the ovarian tissues of POF rats increased. ZGP has a therapeutic effect on POF via modulation of the GDF-9/Smad2 pathway.

Hormones play an important role in plant disease resistance and defense. Transcriptome data of late blight-resistant potato genotype SD20 treated by ethylene (ET), jasmonate (JA), salicylic acid (SA), and Phytophthora infestans CN152 was analyzed to assess the role of the ET/JA/SA regulatory network in plant disease resistance and defense and predict key resistant genes. The results show that there was significant crossover of differentially expressed genes among all treatments, and common and specific plant disease interaction genes for the ET, JA, and SA treatments were differentially expressed in the CN152 treatment. The resistance and defense genes of the potato genotype SD20 could be induced to regulate metabolic and hormone signaling pathways by alternative splicing in all treatments. Further analysis found that JA and ET pathways can work together synergistically. JA/ET and SA pathways antagonize each other to initiate the expression of calmodulin-domain protein kinases and calmodulin/calmodulin-like and RPM1-interacting protein 4 genes, and they activate HSP-mediated hypersensitive response and defense-related genes. Meanwhile, nine defense genes, including wound-responsive AP2-like factor, glutathione-s-transferase, serine/threonine-protein kinase BRI1, and Avr9/Cf-9 rapidly elicited protein genes, were obtained using weighted gene coexpression network analysis, which provided reliable targets for functional verification. This study provides a theoretical reference for the comprehensive application of plant hormones to improve resistance to potato late blight disease.

RESUMEN

A growing number of studies have been conducted over the past few years on the positioning of daily massage robots. However, most methods used for research have low interactivity, and a systematic method should be designed for accurate and intelligent positioning, thus compromising usability and user experience. In this study, a massage positioning algorithm with online learning capabilities is presented. The algorithm has the following main innovations: (1) autonomous massage localization can be achieved by gaining insights into natural human-machine interaction behavior and (2) online learning of user massage habits can be achieved by integrating recursive Bayesian ideas. As revealed by the experimental results, combining natural human-computer interaction and online learning with massage positioning is capable of helping people get rid of positioning aids, reducing their psychological and cognitive load, and achieving a more desirable positioning effect. Furthermore, the results of the analysis of user evaluations further verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Tuber shape is one of the most important quality traits in potato appearance. Since poor or irregular shape results in higher costs for processing and influences the consumers' willingness to purchase, breeding for shape uniformity and shallow eye depth is highly important. Previous studies showed that the major round tuber shape controlling locus, the Ro locus, is located on chromosome 10. However, fine mapping and cloning of tuber shape genes have not been reported. In this study, the analyses of tissue sectioning and transcriptome sequencing showed that the developmental differences between round and elongated tuber shapes begin as early as the hook stage of the stolon. To fine map tuber shape genes, a high-density genetic linkage map of the Ro region on chromosome 10 based on a diploid segregating population was constructed. The total length of the genetic linkage map was 25.8 cM and the average marker interval was 1.98 cM. Combined with phenotypic data collected from 2014 to 2017, one major quantitative trait locus (QTL) for tuber shape was identified, which explained 61.7-72.9% of the tuber shape variation. Through the results of genotyping and phenotypic investigation of recombinant individuals, Ro was fine mapped in a 193.43 kb interval, which contained 18 genes. Five candidate genes were preliminarily predicted based on tissue sections and transcriptome sequencing. This study provides an important basis for cloning Ro gene(s).

As a medicinal plant, Artemisia annua L. is the main source of artemisinin in malaria drugs, but the lack of understanding of its distribution, environmental conditions and protection status limits the mass acquisition of artemisinin. Therefore, we used the ensemble forecast method to model the current and future global distribution areas of A. annua, evaluated the changes in suitable distribution areas on each continent under impacts of human activities and climate change, and its protection status on each continent in the corresponding period. The results showed that the main distribution areas of A. annua were concentrated in mid-latitudes in western and central Europe, southeastern Asia, southeastern North America and southeastern South America. Under the current climate scenario, human modifications have greatly reduced the suitable distribution area of A. annua, which was projected to expand inland with climate change and human socioeconomic impacts of CMIP6 in the future, but the effects of increasing temperature were different in different periods. Among all continents, the suitable distribution area in Europe was the most affected. However, at present and in the future, A. annua needs high priority protection on all continents. Asia and Europe have slightly better protection status scores than other continents, but the protection status scores of all continents are still very low. Our findings can be useful to guide development of protective measures for medicinal plants such as A. annua to further support drug production and disease treatment.

Alnustone, a diarylheptane compound, exhibits potent growth inhibition against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) BEL-7402 cells. However, the underlying mechanisms associated with its anticancer activity remain unknown. In the present study, we evaluated the anticancer effect of alnustone against several human cancers focused on HCC and the possible associated mechanisms. The results showed that alnustone significantly inhibited the growth of several cancer cells by CCK-8 assay. Alnustone markedly induced apoptosis and decreased mitochondrial membrane potential in BEL-7402 and HepG2 cells. Alnustone inhibited the expression of proteins related to apoptosis and PI3K/Akt/mTOR/p70S6K pathways and generated ROS production in BEL-7402 and HepG2 cells. Moreover, N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC, a ROS inhibitor) could significantly reverse the effects of alnustone on the growth inhibition of BEL-7402 and HepG2 cells and the expression of proteins related to apoptosis and PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway in HepG2 cells. Furthermore, alnustone significantly inhibited tumor growth of HepG2 xenografts, obviously induced apoptosis in the tumor tissues and improved the pathological condition of liver tissues of mice in vivo. The study provides evidence that alnustone is effective against HCC via ROS-mediated PI3K/Akt/mTOR/p70S6K pathway and the compound has the potential to be developed as a novel anticancer agent for the treatment of HCC clinically.

According to the notice on revision of the instructions for traditional Chinese medicine injections(TCMIs) issued by the National Medical Products Administration(NMPA) from January 2006 to May 2020, the revised contents in the instructions for 29 varieties involved in the notice were sorted out, and the existing problems in the instructions for TCMIs were analyzed, so as to provide the basis for dynamic revision of the instructions. It was found that the revised items of instructions for 29 varieties all involved adverse reactions, contraindications and precautions, and warnings were added for 82.76% of 29 TCMIs preparations, indicating that all the revised contents were related to safety issues. In addition, 33.33% of the drugs risks mentioned in the precautions were not indicated in the adverse reactions; 82.76% instructions did not indicate drug interactions; 17.24% instructions lacked medication notes for special populations; 48.28% instructions did not indicate traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes of the main disease; 44.83% instructions did not indicate the type and stage of indication; and 86.21% instructions did not indicate the course of treatment. It could be concluded that the instructions for TCMIs have known risks of drugs that are not fully reflected in adverse reactions and the effective information is not comprehensive. The risk control measures proposed in the precautions need to have aftereffect evaluation and there is a lack of drug interactions and medications for special populations. As an important part of the full life-cycle management of drugs, the revision of instructions for TCMIs should be continuously improved to provide the basis for safe and reasonable application of TCMIs. Based on the above problems, it is proposed that the marketing license holder as the main body of the revision of instructions should actively carry out post-marketing basic and clinical research in accordance with the characteristics of TCM, combine the updated research with the guidance of TCM theory and improve the revision level of instructions for TCMIs to provide the basis for post-marketing evaluation.

To screen the sensitive cell lines of active fraction from clove(AFC) on human colon cancer cells, investigate the effects of AFC on the cells proliferation and apoptosis as well as PI3 K/Akt/mTOR(phosphoinositide 3-kinase/Akt/mechanistic target of rapamycin) signaling pathways involved, and reveal the mechanism of AFC for inducing apoptosis of human colorectal carcinoma cells. Cell counting kit-8(CCK-8) assay was used to detect the cytotoxic effect of different concentrations of AFC. AFC-induced apoptosis was detected by Hoechst 33258 fluorescence staining and Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining. HCT116 cells were treated with AFC with or without pretreatment with insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ(IGF-Ⅰ), and then the protein expression levels of caspase-3, caspase-9, poly ADP-ribose polymerase(PARP), PI3 K, p-PI3 K, Akt, p-Akt, mTOR and p-mTOR in PI3 K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway were detected by Western blot. RESULTS:: showed that the most obvious inhibitory effect of AFC was on human colon cancer HCT116 cells, and the optimal AFC treatment time was 48 hours. After AFC treatment, typical apoptotic features such as nuclear chromatin concentration, nuclear fragmentation and apoptotic bodies appeared in a dose-dependent manner. Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining showed that as compared with the control group, 50 and 100 µg·mL~(-1) AFC groups increased the apoptosis rate of HCT116 cells significantly(P<0.001); AFC activated caspase-9, cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved PARP in a concentration-dependent manner. The protein expression levels of cleaved caspase-3/procaspase-3, cleaved PARP/PARP and caspase-9/ß-actin after treatment of AFC(100 µg·mL~(-1)) were significantly different from those in the control group(P<0.001). The relative protein expression of p-PI3 K, p-Akt and p-mTOR decreased in a concentration dependent manner, while Akt and mTOR showed no significant differences among groups. The ratios of p-PI3 K/PI3 K, p-Akt/Akt and p-mTOR/mTOR in the AFC groups(50 and 100 µg·mL~(-1)) were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01). Its combination with IGF-Ⅰ weakened the effect of AFC in inhibiting PI3 K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. The ratios of p-Akt/Akt and p-mTOR/mTOR in the AFC+IGF-Ⅰ group were significantly enhanced as compared with the AFC group(P<0.05). Apoptosis-related protein expression levels(cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved PARP) in HCT116 cells treated with AFC+IGF-Ⅰ were also down regulated. As compared with the AFC group, the ratios of cleaved caspase-3/procaspase-3 and cleaved PARP/PARP in the AFC+IGF-Ⅰ group were significantly decreased(P<0.01). In summary, AFC activated caspase-mediated cascades and induced HCT116 cells apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner, which may be associated with the inhibition of the PI3 K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.

Cell fusion is involved in many physiological and pathological processes, including gamete binding, and cancer development. The basic processes of cell fusion include membrane fusion, cytoplasmic mixing, and nuclear fusion. Cell fusion is regulated by different proteins and signaling pathways. Syncytin-1, syncytin-2, glial cell missing 1, galectin-1 and other proteins (annexins, myomaker, myomerger etc.) involved in cell fusion via the cyclic adenosine-dependent protein kinase A, mitogen-activated protein kinase, wingless/integrase-1, and c-Jun N-terminal kinase signaling pathways. In the progression of malignant tumors, cell fusion is essential during the organ-specific metastasis, epithelial-mesenchymal transformation, the formation of cancer stem cells (CSCs), cancer angiogenesis and cancer immunity. In addition, diploid cells can be induced to form polyploid giant cancer cells (PGCCs) via cell fusion under many kinds of stimuli, including cobalt chloride, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine. PGCCs have CSC-like properties, and the daughter cells derived from PGCCs have a mesenchymal phenotype and exhibit strong migration, invasion, and proliferation abilities. Therefore, exploring the molecular mechanisms of cell fusion can enable us better understand the development of malignant tumors. In this review, the basic process of cell fusion and its significance in cancer is discussed.

Ethylene (ET) is one of the many important signaling hormones that functions in regulating defense responses in plants. Gene expression profiling was conducted under exogenous ET application in the high late blight resistant potato genotype SD20 and the specific transcriptional responses to exogenous ET in SD20 were revealed. Analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) generated a total of 1226 ET-specific DEGs, among which transcription factors, kinases, defense enzymes and disease resistance-related genes were significantly differentially expressed. GO enrichment and KEGG metabolic pathway analysis also revealed that numerous defense regulation-related genes and defense pathways were significantly enriched. These results were consistent with the interaction of SD20 and Phytophthora infestans in our previous study, indicating that exogenous ET stimulated the defense response and initiated a similar defense pathway compared to pathogen infection in SD20. Moreover, multiple signaling pathways including ET, salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, abscisic acid, auxin, cytokinin and gibberellin were involved in the response to exogenous ET, which indicates that many plant hormones work together to form a complex network to resist external stimuli in SD20. ET-induced gene expression profiling provides insights into the ET signaling transduction pathway and its potential mechanisms in disease defense systems in potato.

Traditional approaches for sequencing insertion ends of bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) libraries are laborious and expensive, which are currently some of the bottlenecks limiting a better understanding of the genomic features of auto- or allopolyploid species. Here, we developed a highly efficient and low-cost BAC end analysis protocol, named BAC-anchor, to identify paired-end reads containing large internal gaps. Our approach mainly focused on the identification of high-throughput sequencing reads carrying restriction enzyme cutting sites and searching for large internal gaps based on the mapping locations of both ends of the reads. We sequenced and analysed eight libraries containing over 3 200 000 BAC end clones derived from the BAC library of the tetraploid potato cultivar C88 digested with two restriction enzymes, Cla I and Mlu I. About 25% of the BAC end reads carrying cutting sites generated a 60-100 kb internal gap in the potato DM reference genome, which was consistent with the mapping results of Sanger sequencing of the BAC end clones and indicated large differences between autotetraploid and haploid genotypes in potato. A total of 5341 Cla I- and 165 Mlu I-derived unique reads were distributed on different chromosomes of the DM reference genome and could be used to establish a physical map of target regions and assemble the C88 genome. The reads that matched different chromosomes are especially significant for the further assembly of complex polyploid genomes. Our study provides an example of analysing high-coverage BAC end libraries with low sequencing cost and is a resource for further genome sequencing studies.

BACKGROUND: Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a severe type of neuropathic pain which is often inadequately managed using conventional therapies. In this report, we present the first case of TN treated with gasserian ganglion nerve coblation (NC). CASE SUMMARY: A 58-year-old man presented with right facial pain, mostly localized in the right zygomatic zone, alveolar region, and jaws. Similar to acupuncture and shock pain, the pain lasted about five seconds after each attack before resolving unaided. A diagnosis of TN was made, after which treatment with acupuncture therapy and oral carbamazepine was given. However, the pain was not satisfactorily controlled. Subsequently, gasserian ganglion NC of the right trigeminal nerve guided by computed tomography (CT) was performed on the patient. Following this procedure, the right zygomatic, alveolar, submandibular, and cheek pain disappeared completely. The right zygomatic and alveolar areas experienced mild numbness (level II). At 1-, 2-, 3-, and 6-mo follow-ups after surgery, the patient was painless and the numbness score was level I. CONCLUSION: CT-guided gasserian ganglion (NC) is an effective treatment for TN and is associated with less or no postoperative numbness or hypoesthesia in comparison with current standard-of-care approaches.

Congchi Decoction in Zhouhou Beiji Fang is a prescription commonly used in treating light exterior wind-cold syndrome.Fistular Onion Stalk in the prescription has the effects in inducing sweat and dispelling exogenous evils and accelerating Yang Qi,and has been recorded in many medical books. In addition to be used to treat light exterior wind-cold syndrome,Fistular Onion Stalk is also used extensively and uniquely to treat restlessness after cholera,febrile disease,thoracic obstruction,Yin-Yang toxin syndrome,consumptive disease,bellyache due to spleen Qi deficiency according to Zhouhou Beiji Fang. However,there is still lack of the research on whether Fistular Onion Stalk is derived from shallot or scallion. The authors analyzed the sources of Fistular Onion Stalk in the prescription of Congchi Decoction by consulting ancient books,and studying the plant morphology of shallot,the characteristic and effect of Fistular Onion Stalk and the historical physicians' clinical application of Fistular Onion Stalk,the completion and popularity of Zhouhou Beiji Fang,the ratio of water to medicine of Congchi Decoction and the chemical ingredients of Fistular Onion Stalk. Finally,the authors concluded that Fistular Onion Stalk in the Congchi Decoction refers to Scallion bulbs.

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one of the three most important food crops worldwide; however, it is strongly affected by drought stress. The precise molecular mechanisms of drought stress response in potato are not very well understood. The diploid potato genotype P3-198 has been verified to be highly resistant to drought stress. Here, a time-course experiment was performed to identify drought resistance response genes in P3-198 under polyethylene glycol (PEG)-induced stress using RNA-sequencing. A total of 1665 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were specifically identified, and based on gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis, the transcription factor activity, protein kinase activity, and the plant hormone signal transduction process were significantly enriched. Annotation revealed that these DEGs mainly encode transcription factors, protein kinases, and proteins related to redox regulation, carbohydrate metabolism, and osmotic adjustment. In particular, genes encoding abscisic acid (ABA)-dependent signaling molecules were significantly differentially expressed, which revealed the important roles of the ABA-dependent signaling pathway in the early response of P3-198 to drought stress. Quantitative real-time PCR experimental verification confirmed the differential expression of genes in the drought resistance signaling pathway. Our results provide valuable information for understanding potato drought-resistance mechanisms, and also enrich the gene resources available for drought-resistant potato breeding.
