RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To investigate the value of the iodine concentration (IC) measured by dual-layer detector spectral CT (DLDSCT) in evaluating the factors related to the treatment scheme and survival prognosis of patients with glioma. METHODS: From 2018 to 2019, we prospectively collected the data of 99 patients with glioma. The degree of CT enhancement and the IC of low grade gliomas (LGGs, II), high grade gliomas (HGGs, III and IV), grade II and III gliomas, were compared. The predictive performance of the degree of CT enhancement and IC was examined via receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. The correlations between IC and Ki-67 labeling index, isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation, chromosome 1p/19q deletion status of the tumor were examined. RESULTS: Both IC and the degree of CT enhancement of patients with HGG were significantly higher than those of patients with LGG (p < 0.001; χ2 =41.707, p <  0.001); IC had large area under the ROC curve for diagnostic HGG (0.931; 95 % CI: 0.882-0.979; p <  0.001). The IC in the grade III gliomas was significantly higher than that in grade II gliomas (p < 0.001); IC had a large area under the ROC curve for diagnostic grade III gliomas (0.865; 95 % CI: 0.779-0.952; p <  0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between IC and Ki-67 LI (r = 0.679; p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The DLDSCT technology can be used as a supplementary method to provide more information for preoperative grading of the gliomas and the prognosis assessment of the patients.

RESUMEN

Objective To determine the value of using B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and D-dimer in preliminary recognition of cardioembolic stroke patients. Methods A mutilple-center study was conducted in Foshan Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and its affiliated hospitals from July 2015 to July 2016.In the emergency departments (EDs),emergency physicians prospectively assessed consecutive adult patients with acute cardioembolic stroke and measured plasma BNP by POCT platform on admission, then followed up.Stroke neurologists evaluated patients' functional outcome at hospital discharge and also made discharge diagnosis and stroke etiologic subtypes according to the TOAST criteria. Results In this study,290 acute ischemic stroke patients met the study criteria [mean age (68.41 ± 12.06) years;53.8% female].Of the enrolled patients,28.3% were diagnosed with LAA at discharge,17.9% with CE,42.8% with SAO,11.0% with SOE or SUE.And the mean BNP concentration was significantly higher in the CE group than that in other three subtypes (P < 0.001).After adjustment for multiple clinical predictors like gender, age, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation and renal function,BNP and D-dimer were associated with CE [BNP OR:1.044 (95% CI 1.025,1.064),P < 0.001;D-dimer OR:1.511(95% CI 1.020,2.238),P =0.039,respectively].Conclusion Through POCT technique in the EDs,cardioembolic stroke patients can be differentiated from other TOAST subtypes.BNP with/without D-dimer has good but different corresponding diagnostic performance in preliminary recognition of cardioembolic stroke patients.

RESUMEN

This study was aimed to establish a HPLC method for the determination of isogarcinol. Daojin Inertsil WP300 C18 (4.6 mm× 150 mm, 5μm) was employed with methanol and water (75?25) as the mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1. The column temperature was set at 40°C. The detection wavelengthγ was set at 277 nm. The results showed that the linear range of isogarcinol was 0.005 7-0.039 9μg. The average recovery rate was 99.58%. The relative standard deviation (RSD) was 1.25%. The contents of isogarcinol inGarcinia mangostana,Garcinia oblongifolia,Garcinia oligantha,Cratoxylum cochinchinense andCalophyllum membranaceum were 0.285%, 0.199%, 0.857%, 0.161% and 0.006%, respectively. Isogarcinol was not detected inCratoxylum formosum orCalophyllum inophyllum. It was concluded that the method was convenient, accurate with high sensitivity, good stability and repeatability. It can be used for determination of isogarcinol content in Chinese herbal medicine.

RESUMEN

Pulmonary fibrosis is a common respiratory disease in the clinic. Until now, the pathogenesis is still un-clear. Using clotting mechanism as the starting point, this article mainly explored abnormal changes of the coagula-tion - fibrinolysis system in the development of pulmonary fibrosis. The effective treatment through the activation of blood circulation to remove stasis in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) point of view was also observed on the man-agement of interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. It considered that to carry out the anticoagulant therapy for abnormal coag-ulation, which may become a new target for clinical treatment of interstitial lung diseases. It provided new ideas and theoretical support for clinical treatment of pulmonary interstitial fibrosis.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the effects of a motor relearning programme (MRP) combined with different early acupuncture interventions on muscle tension and motor function recovery after cerebral infarction.MethodsA total of 90 patients with cerebral infarction who met the inclusion criteria were divided into three groups at random:a YANGMING meridian acupuncture and MRP group ( group A),an anti-spasm acupuncture and MRP group ( group B),and an MRP group ( group C ).All of the patients in all three groups were treated with routine medication. The National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS),the composite spasticity scale (CSS),Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA),the Fugl-Meyer balance scale (FM-B) and the modified Barthel index (MBI) were used to measure performance before treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment.Another comparison was intra-group between before and after treatment. ResultsThere were significant differences in the assessment results in all of the groups after treatment compared with those before treatment. After treatment, group B was superior to group C only in terms of NIHSS scores. There was no significant NIHSS score difference between groups A and C.The FMA,CSS and MBI results revealed significant differences among all three groups, with the scores of group A consistently the highest. The average FMA score in group B was significantly higher than in group C but there was no statistically significant difference in FM-B scores among the three groups. ConclusionMRP therapy combined with early acupuncture intervention can improve motor function and muscular tension after cerebral infarction.Anti-spasm acupuncture can improve motor function and control muscular tension effectively at the same time, making it beneficial for MRP training.
