RESUMEN

This study aimed to investigate the clinical predictors, including traditional Chinese medicine tongue characteristics and other clinical parameters for chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression (CIM), and then to develop a clinical prediction model and construct a nomogram. A total of 103 patients with lung cancer were prospectively enrolled in this study. All of them were scheduled to receive first-line chemotherapy regimens. Participants were randomly assigned to either the training group (n = 52) or the test group (n = 51). Tongue characteristics and clinical parameters were collected before the start of chemotherapy, and then the incidence of myelosuppression was assessed after treatment. We used univariate logistic regression analysis to identify the risk predictors for assessing the incidence of CIM. Moreover, we developed a predictive model and a nomogram using multivariate logistic regression analysis. Finally, we evaluated the predictive performance of the model by examining the area under the curve value of the receiver operating characteristic, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis. As a result, a total of 3 independent predictors were found to be associated with the CIM in multivariate regression analysis: the fat tongue (OR = 3.67), Karnofsky performance status score (OR = 0.11), and the number of high-toxic drugs in chemotherapy regimens (OR = 4.78). Then a model was constructed using these 3 predictors and it exhibited a robust predictive performance with an area under the curve of 0.82 and the consistent calibration curves. Besides, the decision curve analysis results suggested that applying this predictive model can result in more net clinical benefit for patients. We established a traditional Chinese medicine prediction model based on the tongue characteristics and clinical parameters, which could serve as a useful tool for assessing the risk of CIM.

RATIONALE: Low-dose methotrexate has a relatively good safety profile. However, in cases where patients with multiple risk factors, a delayed excretion has been observed, resulting in the occurrence of severe adverse reactions. It is necessary to supervise and intervene throughout the entire process of treating patients with multiple risk factors for methotrexate, and to strengthen the rational application of methotrexate. PATIENT CONCERNS AND DIAGNOSES: A 66-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital with rheumatoid arthritis and underlying conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This patient received treatment with low-dose MTX (10 mg/week) and experienced adverse reactions including anemia. He was diagnosed with methotrexate-induced bone marrow suppression. INTERVENTIONS AND OUTCOMES: The therapeutic drug monitoring revealed that the serum drug concentration of methotrexate was at a critical level and the patient was rescue with calcium folinate and other adjuvant therapy such as transfusions of red blood cells, plasma, platelets, oral Yixuesheng tablets and Leucogen tablets. We conducted a 1-month follow-up, and there was no recurrence of bone marrow suppression and anemia. LESSONS: To ensure rational administration of methotrexate, it is important to fully evaluate the clinical manifestations and physical condition of patients and regularly detecting the serum drug concentration of methotrexate when patients with multiple risk factors, Otherwise, even low-dose methotrexate administration may cause delayed excretion, resulting in severe adverse reactions.

Subacute myelopathy is a rare but serious complication of methotrexate (MTX) that may cause paraplegia. Although its underlying mechanisms have not been fully elucidated, homocysteine is thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of this adverse effect. Herein, we report the case of a 34-years old female patient with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma who developed progressive paraplegia accompanied by dysfunctional bladder and bowel movements after treatment with a modified CODOX-M/IVAC regimen, including high-dose intravenous MTX and intrathecal (IT-) MTX. Neurological symptoms gradually improved to almost normal levels within 4.5 months of onset following treatment with a combination of S-adenosylmethionine, methionine, cyanocobalamin, and folate. During chemotherapy, including high-dose MTX and IT-MTX for hematological malignancies, MTX-induced subacute neuronal damage should be carefully evaluated, and appropriate treatment should be initiated as early as possible.

BACKGROUND: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of transcutaneous electronic acupoint stimulation (TEAS) on bone marrow suppression in patients with lung cancer after chemotherapy. METHODS: We conducted a comprehensive search of 6 databases until November 2022 and included 6 randomized controlled trials comprising 534 patients in our analysis. Eligible randomized controlled trials were included based on predefined inclusion criteria. The weighted mean difference (WMD) was calculated with all of the continuous outcomes. Heterogeneity among the included studies was evaluated using Cochran I2 and Q statistics. When the value of I2 was over 50%, a random-effects model was used. Egger test was used to assess publication bias, and trim and fill analysis was conducted if bias was detected. RESULTS: Our analysis found that TEAS significantly increased white blood cell counts (WMD: 0.79, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.40-1.18, P < .001), platelet counts (WMD: 45.45, 95% CI: 30.47-60.43, P < .001), and comfort score (WMD: 6.89, 95% CI: 5.12-8.66, P < .001) compared to the conventional group. However, no significant difference was observed in red blood cell counts (WMD: 0.00, 95% CI: -0.10 to 0.10, P = .97) and hemoglobin level (WMD: -0.01, 95% CI: -2.49 to 2.46, P = .99) between the 2 groups. CONCLUSIONS: We tentatively conclude that TEAS can reduce bone marrow suppression risk and improve comfort in lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. However, larger randomized controlled trials with more diverse patient populations and blood routine indexes are urgently needed to confirm these findings.

Bone marrow edema (BME) is a self-limiting syndrome that can be caused by many pathological conditions. The most frequently seen symptom of BME is pain. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is an available treatment. This study aims to present the clinical results of quantitatively evaluating the use of HBOT. We evaluated all BME patients 18 to 65 years old without osteoarthritis, inflammatory rheumatological disease, or malignancy diagnosed through magnetic resonance imaging. All were treated with acetylsalicylic acid (100 mg daily) and bisphosphonates (70 mg alendronate once a week) and were instructed to avoid weight-bearing activities. Some of the patients also received HBOT. We divided the patients into 2 groups: 1 group took HBOT; the other did not. We used the Wilcoxon test to compare groups. HBOT is an effective treatment option for BME. We quantitatively measured faster healing when HBOT was used for BME of the knee. There were no significant side effects.

Systemic mastocytosis (SM) is characterized by multifocal accumulation of neoplastic mast cells (MCs), predominately affecting the bone marrow (BM). Imaging with computed tomography (CT) is used for assessment of bone mineral density and structure. However, the value of functional imaging with dual-energy CT (DECT) and the assessment of virtual-non-calcium attenuation values (VNCa-AV) for visualization of BM disease burden in SM has not yet been assessed. DECT of the axial skeleton was performed in 18 patients with SM (indolent SM [ISM], n = 6; smoldering SM [SSM]/advanced SM [AdvSM], n = 12) and 18 control subjects. VNCa-AV were obtained in 5 representative vertebraes per patient and correlated with laboratory, morphologic and molecular parameters. VNCa-AV strongly correlated with quantitative BM MC infiltration (r = 0.7, R2 = 0.49, P = 0.001) and serum tryptase levels (r = 0.7, R2 = 0.54, P < 0.001). Mean VNCa-AV were significantly higher in SSM/AdvSM as compared to ISM (- 9HU vs. - 54HU, P < 0.005) and controls (- 38HU, P < 0.005). Nine of 10 (90%) patients with a VNCa-AV > - 30HU and 7/7 (100%) patients with a VNCa-AV > - 10HU had SSM or AdVSM. BM VNCa-AV provide information about the MC burden of SM patients and correlate with SM subtypes. DECT may therefore serve as a supplementary tool for SM diagnosis, subclassification and monitoring in a one-stop-shop session.

Copper deficiency syndrome is an underestimated cause of posterior myelitis. We describe the case of a 41-year-old woman, who developed a subacute ataxic paraparesis associated with low back pain. Her 3T spine MRI showed a thin hyperintense FS-Echo T2 longitudinally extensive lesion involving the posterior columns of the cervical cord (from C2 to C6). An extensive diagnostic work-up excluded other causes of myelopathy and blood tests pointed out hypocupremia and mild hyperzincemia. Patients affected by this rare form of oligoelement deficiency typically develop progressive posterior column dysfunction with sensory ataxia and spasticity, sometimes associated with sensori-motor polyneuropathy. Clinical and radiological characteristics of posterior myelopathy due to copper deficiency are briefly reviewed. Physicians should be aware of this condition since a prompt introduction of copper supplementation can avoid progression of the neurological damage.

BACKGROUND: Myelosuppression after chemotherapy is a common adverse reaction in the process of chemotherapy, mainly manifested as anemia, increased risk of bleeding, infection, the results seriously affect the quality of life and prognosis of patients, become the main cause of death. Since ancient times, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been widely used in East Asia (such as China, Japan, South Korea) in the clinical treatment of bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy, which plays the role of synergism, toxicity reduction, immune regulation, and gradually developed into an indispensable role. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to use a network meta-analysis to evaluate the evidence that traditional Chinese medicine is related to the efficacy and safety of chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression. METHODS: This study will search the following Chinese and English databases electronically: 4 Chinese literature databases, including China biology and medicine database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP, and Wan fang database, and 3 British literature databases including PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library. The search keywords were (traditional Chinese medicine or medicinal plants or extracts of traditional Chinese medicine or traditional Chinese medicine formula or preparation) and (myelosuppression after chemotherapy) and (randomized controlled trials) (RCTs). The search time limit is set to December 2020, and Chinese and English languages will be included. The included subjects must be diagnosed with myelosuppression after chemotherapy and RCTs should be conducted at the same time. The main outcome was elevated hemoglobin, platelets, leukocytes, and neutrophils. The secondary results were reticulocyte absolute value, reticulocyte percentage, low-fluorescence reticulocyte red, medium-fluorescent reticulocyte red, and high-fluorescence reticulocyte red. We will conduct a risk and quality assessment of the included studies using the Cochrane tool, and carefully calculate data synthesis after meta-analysis using Rev Man software (version 5.3.5) and R software (version 3.6.1). RESULTS: The study is aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the treatment that traditional Chinese medicine for myelosuppression after chemotherapy. INTRODUCTION: Bone marrow oedema is a disabling disease characterised by severe bone pain (with or without prior trauma), insufficient response to analgesics, and reduction of weight bearing. Several studies showed promising results after using bisphosphonates to inhibit osteoclast activity. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between ibandronate administration and pain relief in patients with bone marrow oedema of the knee, and to precisely describe its presentation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). METHODS: This is a single-centre, retrospective analysis of 18 patients who received intravenous ibandronate due to bone marrow oedema of the knee between April 2012 and February 2016. Information has been extracted from our clinical database and a questionnaire. Furthermore, an experienced radiologist reassessed all MRI diagnoses. RESULTS: Our results showed a significant reduction of pain from 7.4 to 3.8 points on the visual analogue scale (p = 0.0001; median follow-up 41.5 months). Furthermore, the disability in daily life also significantly decreased (p = 0.008); 55.6% of the participants stated to be pain-free in the follow-up, and the same percentage also did not use alternative therapies after completing therapy with ibandronate (e.g., regular use of analgesics, operation, or local infiltration). However, there was no significant correlation between pain and specific radiologic findings. CONCLUSIONS: Participants with bone marrow oedema of the knee showed a significant pain reduction after an administration of ibandronate, independently of the severity showed in MRI. If the first administration leads to an insufficient control of pain, the administration of a second dose may be helpful. As bone marrow oedema syndrome is a self-limiting disease, prospective studies with a comparison group are needed to distinguish between the natural course of the disease and the beneficial effects of bisphosphonates.  .

BACKGROUND: Severe vitamin C deficiency, or scurvy, encompasses a syndrome of multisystem abnormalities due to defective collagen synthesis and antioxidative functions. Among the more common presentations is a combination of oral or subcutaneous hemorrhage with lower extremity pain, the latter often exhibiting inflammatory bone changes on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). CASE PRESENTATION: A 12-year-old male with anorexia nervosa presented with asymmetric painful swelling of multiple fingers of both hands. Imaging demonstrated soft tissue and bone marrow edema of several phalanges, without arthritis, concerning for an inflammatory process. Extensive imaging and laboratory evaluations were largely unrevealing, with the exception of a severely low vitamin C level and a moderately low vitamin D level. A diagnosis of scurvy was made and supplementation was initiated. Within 3 weeks of treatment, serum levels of both vitamins normalized and the digital abnormalities resolved on physical exam. CONCLUSIONS: This represents the first description of scurvy manifesting with bone and soft tissue changes limited to the hands. There must be a high index of suspicion for scurvy in children with restricted dietary intake or malabsorption who have bone pain, irrespective of location of the lesions.

BACKGROUND: A study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of holistic nursing intervention upon the knowledge regarding care during myelosupression among patients with cancer at a selected hospital in Chennai, India. METHODS: A quantitative research approach of quasi experimental non-equivalent with control group before -after design (non randomized) was used. The investigator included 204 participants by using purposive sampling technique which included 102 each in study and comparison group. Pre-test was done before the intervention of holistic nursing to both comparison and study group participants. Holistic nursing intervention was implemented for study group whereas comparison group received routine care. Post test was done by using the structured questionnaire after 1month. The responses from the participants were coded and statistically analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. RESULTS: The knowledge scores obtained by study group was significantly higher (13.32+2.94) when compared to comparison group (8.12+2.04). There was a statistically significant difference between study and comparison group participants, at p< 0.001. With regard to the dimensions of knowledge related to disease condition and signs and symptoms were higher in the study group when compared to the comparison group. Myelosuppression or bone marrow suppression is one of the most common side effects caused by anti-cancer drugs. Certain nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), antibiotics and viruses like B19 virus can also cause bone marrow suppression resulting in serious consequences like leukopenia, anemia and thrombocytopenia. Currently, it is mainly treated by Filgrastim, use of which is not without side effects. Certain natural drugs can be a safer alternative to treat myelosuppression. Azadirachta indica, commonly known as Neem, is an important medicinal plant of subcontinent. Keeping in view the traditional uses of Neem, present study aims to investigate its potential role in reversing myelosuppression. Albino rats were used to determine hematopoietic activity of Neem leaves after inducing myelosuppression by cyclophosphamide given subcutaneously. Filgrastim was used as reference standard to compare the antimyelosuppressant activity of the drug. The drug was evaluated in three doses i.e. 50mg/kg, 100mg/kg and 200mg/kg body weight, while blood samples were drawn on 0, 1st, 7th, 14th and 21st day. The drug was found to be effective in reversing bone marrow suppression in all three doses based on the hematological parameters (mean WBC, RBC, platelets, Hb, Hct etc.) which improved significantly. The results suggest that the drug can be used as antimyelosuppressant after establishing its safety and identifying its active constituents with their mechanism of action.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy and tolerability of different antiresorptive therapeutic regimens for treating symptomatic bone marrow lesions (BML) of the knee. METHODS: Patient records of 34 patients with radiologically diagnosed, painful BML of the knee treated with either a bisphosphonate (zoledronic, ibandronic, or alendronic acid) or with a human monoclonal antibody (denosumab) were retrospectively evaluated. Response to treatment was assessed, as change in patient-reported pain, by evaluation of BML expansion on MRI using the Whole-Organ Magnetic Resonance Imaging Score (WORMS), and by laboratory analysis of bone turnover markers: C-terminal cross-linking telopeptide (CTx) and procollagen type 1 amino-terminal propeptide (P1NP). Tolerability was evaluated by documentation of adverse reactions. RESULTS: Zoledronic acid was more or at least equally effective as the other treatment regimens with response to treatment in 11 of 12 patients (92%). The highest rate of adverse events was noted in 4 of 12 patients (33%) treated with zoledronic acid. CTx and WORMS differentiated well between responders and non-responders, whereas P1NP failed to do so. Changes in pain correlated moderately with change in WORMS (r = - 0.32), weakly with change in CTx (r = - 0.07), and not at all with change in P1NP. CONCLUSION: Zoledronic acid appeared to be more effective than other antiresorptive medications-at the cost of more frequent adverse events. While radiological and laboratory evaluation methods may allow for objective treatment monitoring, they appear to capture different dimensions than patient-reported pain. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: III.

Bone Marrow Oedema Syndrome during childhood is a rare benign transient condition without clear pathophysiology. It usually resolves after conservative treatment, but resolution may exceed up to 8 months. A 12-year-old child with bone marrow oedema of the left foot which was diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is reported. She presented with a six week subacute pain and mild swelling on the dorsal surface of the foot. Routine plain radiographs, blood tests, biochemical and serological tests were normal with the exception of serum Vitamin D levels that were reduced. The management of the child included partial weight-bearing, administration of anti-inflammatory drugs and supplementation of Vitamin D due to insufficient Vitamin D intake. After six months the child did not have any clinical symptoms and MRI showed complete resolution of the oedema. This is the first report of a juvenile bone marrow oedema correlated with hypovitaminosis D that was successfully treated with Vitamin D administration.

This study investigated the combination effects of the Acanthopanax senticosus - Ligustrum lucidum (AS-LL) herb pair on bone marrow suppression caused by chemotherapy. A bone marrow suppression model was established by intraperitoneal injection (i.p.) of cyclophosphamide (CTX, 100 mg/kg). The changes in chemical composition between the AS-LL decocted together and single were analyzed, and their effects on the bone marrow nucleated cells, peripheral blood, thymus and spleen indices, in vitro hematopoietic cell culture, ELISA and cell cycle were detected. The results showed that the contents of the main active components, such as salidroside, isofraxidin and specnuezhenide in the sample of AS-LL decocted together, increased significantly compared to singles. Moreover, AS-LL decocted together exhibited a significantly better therapeutic effect on myelosuppression induced by CTX than AS and LL alone. AS-LL decocted together significantly increased the number of bone marrow nucleated cells and displayed a good regulatory effect on peripheral blood (p < 0.01), while significantly increased the thymus index (p < 0.01) and decreased the spleen index (p < 0.01). AS-LL significantly promoted the formation of cell colonies (p < 0.05), the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells, and played a positive regulatory role in hematopoietic factors. AS-LL also reduced the proportion of G0/G1 cells, increased the ratio of S and G2/M cells, and increased the cell proliferation index (PI). All these results implied that AS-LL decocted together might be a promising food additives and therapeutic agent for myelosuppression induced by chemotherapy.

BACKGROUND: The aetiology and pathogenesis of primary bone marrow oedema syndrome (BMES) remain unclear. This retrospective cross-sectional study in a large cohort of patients with BMES was performed to characterise the overall skeletal status and turnover in patients with BMES, with the aim of identifying risk factors for this disease. METHODS: Patients who were diagnosed with BMES on the basis of clinical and radiological (magnetic resonance imaging) findings in our outpatient clinic were identified retrospectively. Patient history, co-existing metabolic disorders, bone metabolism parameters (serum calcium, phosphate, 25-OH-D3, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase, parathyroid hormone, and osteocalcin, and urinary deoxypyridinoline) and bone mineral density (as measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) were extracted from the medical records. Patients with secondary causes for BMES were excluded from the study. RESULTS: Of the 171 patients, 65 were identified without secondary cause for BMES. Of the 65 patients, 61.5% were female. The mean age was 49.5 ± 16.7 years, and age-related BMES prevalence showed two peaks, one in adolescence (11-20 years) and one at an older age (51-70 years). BMES predominantly affected the weight-bearing joints, namely, the ankle/foot (55.1%), knee (22.4%) and proximal femur (16.3%). Thyroid disorders and secondary hyperparathyroidism were highly prevalent (21.5 and 21.4%, respectively). On average, the cohort had elevated deoxypyridinoline levels and low 25-OH-D3 levels (19.0 ± 7.5 µg/l in patients without vitamin D supplementation). Osteopenia and osteoporosis were diagnosed in 47.4 and 17.5% of patients, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: BMES is associated with high bone turnover. Patients who are diagnosed with BMES should be screened carefully for bone metabolism disorders and their potential risk factors.

OBJECTIVE: to investigate the safety and long-term efficacy of core decompression with synthetic calcium-sulfate bone grafting on non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head. METHOD: a total of 76 patients with non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head were admitted to our hospital from February 2012 to November 2014 and included in the study. All the patients were treated by core decompression with synthetic calcium-sulfate bone grafting. After treatment, the patients were followed-up for 12 months. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, and perioperative complications were also recorded intraoperatively to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety. The preoperative and postoperative pain scores measured by visual analogy score (VAS) were also recorded and compared. RESULTS: all of the 76 patients were successfully operated and included in the study. The mean operation time was 34.6±14.2 min, and the intraoperative blood loss was 23.6±8.9 mL. The patients hip functions were assessed on the basis of the Harris hip score, 3 and 12 months after operation. The excellent rates 3 and 12 months after operation were significantly higher than those before operation (P<0.05). The imaging stabilities of the hip joints 3 and 12 months after operation were significantly higher than those before operation (P<0.05). The patient postoperative pain scores (VAS score) gradually decreased. The VAS scores 12 months after operation were significantly lower than those before operation (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: the long-term efficacy of core decompression with synthetic calcium-sulfate bone grafting on non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head is good and accompanied with significantly improved postoperative joint functions.

BACKGROUND: At present, there are no registered products for the treatment of subchondral Bone Marrow Edema Lesion (BML) and associated knee pain. Patients who do not respond to current anti-inflammatory therapies are left with limited treatment options, and may resort to operative management with Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). We report the use of Pentosan Polysulphate Sodium (PPS) for the treatment of BMLs of the knee. CASE PRESENTATION: We report the case of a 70-year-old female with knee osteoarthritis presenting with a high level of knee pain, scoring 8 on the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), and functional limitation demonstrating a poor Lysholm Knee Score of 37. MRI scans of the knee revealed subchondral BML in the medial femoral condyle and medial tibial plateau. The patient was administered a course of Pentosan Polysulphate Sodium (PPS) intramuscularly twice weekly, for 3 weeks. MRI scans 2 weeks post-treatment showed complete resolution of the bone marrow edema at the medial femoral condyle and medial tibial plateau with concomitant recovery from pain (NRS pain score of 0), and a 43% improvement of the Lysholm Knee Score. In addition, marked reduction in joint effusion was also demonstrated in the MRI scan post PPS therapy. CONCLUSION: The MRI interpretations demonstrate improved clinical outcome measures ensuing therapeutic intervention with PPS, and warranting further investigation into the efficacy of PPS in the treatment of BML associated pain and dysfunction in the osteoarthritic population via randomized controlled trial, or equivalent rigorous methodological technique.

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to evaluate effects of Shen-Cao granules for the prevention of thrombocytopenia caused by anticancer chemotherapy. METHODS: In this prospective study, a total of 200 patients with various malignant tumors were enrolled and evenly divided into a Shen-Cao granule treatment (n = 100) and a control group (n = 100). After 2 cycles chemotherapy with any combination of platinum-based drugs (cisplatin, carboplatin, and nedaplatin), the blood platelet (PLT) counts, levels of the PLT production regulator thrombopoietin (TPO), PLT aggregation rates, and the PLT activation marker CD62P expressions were monitored for 2 weeks. RESULTS: During 2 weeks of post-chemotherapy, the mean values of the minimum PLT count were 49.65 ±â€Š7.35 × 10/L in the treatment group and 31.56 ±â€Š9.32 × 10/L in the control group. The PLT count in the treatment group reached the lowest value 1.8 days later and recovered to a concentration ≥100 × 10/L 3 days earlier than in the control group. The concentrations of the TPO were 71.43 ±â€Š1.74 and 87.24 ±â€Š0.92 ng/mL in the treatment group and 65.75 ±â€Š1.39 and 67.75 ±â€Š0.67 ng/mL in the control group at 7 and 14 days post-chemotherapy, respectively. The maximum PLT aggregation rate declined after chemotherapy in the treatment group from 58.14 ±â€Š11.46% to 52.89 ±â€Š10.52%, while it increased in the control group from 56.94 ±â€Š10.55% to 61.75 ±â€Š12.26%. Coordinately, the expression of CD62P in the treatment group decreased from 6.17 ±â€Š0.59% to 4.89 ±â€Š0.72%, while it increased from 6.09 ±â€Š0.75% to 7.75 ±â€Š0.67% in the control group. CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrated that Shen-Cao granule treatment alleviated thrombocytopenia after chemotherapy, and reduced tumor-induced PLT activation and aggregation.
