RESUMEN
Fetal magnetic resonance imaging is increasingly being used as an adjunct to ultrasound. It allows for better visualization of in utero brain development and intracranial abnormalities (especially cerebral malformations). Hypothalamic hamartoma is a nonneoplastic malformation resembling normal hypothalamic tissue both histologically and on magnetic resonance imaging. Although it is rare, this entity is important to recognize for appropriate management and genetic counseling. We describe a unique patient in whom magnetic resonance imaging of the fetal brain allowed a prenatal diagnosis of Pallister-Hall syndrome.

Three cases of athlete's nodule on the feet are reported. In case 1, a 30-year-old man, who had been an amateur football player, presented with nodules on the lateral side of the feet and on the right lateral malleolus with a duration of 1 year. In case 2, a 22-year-old man, who had participated in karate and track-and-field, presented with nodules on the lateral side of the feet and on the right lateral malleolus with a duration of 10 years. In case 3, a 25-year-old man, who had skied, presented with a nodule on the right lateral malleolus with a duration of 4 years. The biopsy specimens from the lesion demonstrated hyperkeratosis, acanthosis of the epidermis and thickness of the dermis. In 1991, Cohen et al. proposed the concept of athlete's nodule which indicated an acquired cutaneous nodule caused by chronic stimuli with sports. Histopathology of the athlete's nodule shows hypertrophy of the epidermis and dermis. To the best of our knowledge the term "athlete's nodule" has not been used in Japan, but it is a useful term to refer to the lesion induced by athletics or the use of sporting equipment.

Se presenta el caso de un paciente de 38 años con historia de dolor perineal y con pruebas de diagnóstico preoperatorio sugestivas de tumoración quística retrorrectal. El nevo de Becker es un hamartoma cutáneo hiperpigmentado e hipertricósico, de localización usualmente unilateral, de presentación más frecuente en sexo masculino. La mayoría de los casos se manifiestan durante la pubertad, pero se ha publicado actualmente la existencia de casos congénitos. Excepcionalmente presenta una agregación familiar, con una herencia autosómica dominante. Se postula una influencia androgénica en su desarrollo, dada su mayor presentación durante la adolescencia. Este nevo puede asociarse a malformaciones cutáneas, esqueléticas y musculares, describiéndose dos nuevos síndromes recientemente relacionados con la presencia del nevo de Becker.
