[The rehabilitative treatment of patients following stomach resection for peptic ulcer]. / Vosstanovitel'noe lechenie bol'nykh posle rezektsii zheludka po povodu iazvennoi bolezni.

The paper presents the results of the examination and treatment of 59 and 44 patients subjected to gastric resection for gastroduodenal ulcer early and late after the surgery, respectively. Special courses of aftertreatment are suggested. Electrophoresis of Karachi [correction of Karachinskaya] mud-water solution was explored as a component of the treatment.

[Rehabilitation of patients with stomach cancer at health resorts]. / Reabilitatsiia bol'nykh rakom zheludka v sanatorno-kurortnykh usloviiakh.

The paper deals with the results of treatment of 80 radically operated gastric cancer patients at a rehabilitation gastroenterologic department of a health resort at Morshin. Postresection syndrome frequency in this group was lower than that in controls: loss of weight--15% 27.8% in controls, dumping syndrome--25% 4.6% in controls, reflux-esophagitis--6.3% 9.2% in controls and anemia--11.2% of cases 15.4% in controls. Rehabilitation treatment was particularly effective in cases of gastritis of the stump, anacidity and enterocolitis. Also, it was followed by a greater decrease in the frequency of psychogenic reactions from 65.0 to 15.0% 58.5%--34.1% in controls.
