RESUMO
AIM: To examine clinical efficacy of combined therapy with reaferon and iodantipirin in patients with chronic hepatitis B and C of moderate activity. MATERIAL AND METHODS: 100 patients with confirmed diagnosis of chronic viral hepatitis (CVH) at the stage of replication. All the patients have undergone puncture biopsy of the liver with estimation of index of histological activity Knodell and index of fibrosis Desmeth. RESULTS: Comparative evaluation was made of clinical efficacy of combined therapy reaferon + iodantipirin and monotherapy with reaferon in 100 patients with moderate activity CHB and C. CONCLUSION: Conventional scheme with reaferon turned out less effective than the above combination therapy.

The paper provides evidence for that as compared with the well-known drug carsil, the new Russian phytohepatoprotective agent maxar has a therapeutic efficiency in patients with mild and moderate chronic hepatitis (CH) of viral and alcoholic etiology. Maxar has been found to produce a more pronounced hepatoprotective effect, to a greater extent, in CH of alcoholic etiology.

The treatment was given to 100 patients with chronic virus hepatitis of moderate activity and chronicity stage I. Of them, 50 patients received reaferon (3 IU 3 times a week) in combination with antiviral and immunomodulating drug iodantipirin (100 mg/d) given on the days of reaferon injections for 6 months. The other 50 patients received reaferon alone in the same doses and duration of the treatment course. Efficiency was assessed by the level of ALT, findings at polymerase chain reaction, index of histological activity of hepatic biopsy. The combined scheme demonstrated higher efficiency and tolerance.

AIM: To study effectiveness of short courses of intensive peloidobalneotherapy in duodenal ulcer (DU). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and biopsy before and after the treatment course were made in 124 DU patients. Depending on timing of moor applications, pine and pearl baths, the patients were divided into 2 groups. Patients of group 1 received procedures daily with interval 4-5 hours (intensive course), patients of group 2 were treated each other day. RESULTS: 3-4 weeks of the treatment produced a response in both groups but in group 2 there were no signs of active inflammation in gastric and duodenum mucosa. 2 years later, patients of group 1 had histological evidence of chronic inflammation exacerbation. The latter was absent in group 2. CONCLUSION: An intensive course of peloidobalneotherapy results in attenuation of chronic gastroduodenal inflammation in DU patients.

A trial of a novel hepatoprotective plant drug lochein (Salsola extract) developed in Russia was performed in 110 patients with a verified chronic hepatitis of viral (73 patients) or alcohol (36 patients) etiology versus well-known hepatoprotector corsil given to 40 patients. Lochein demonstrated more potent effect than corsil.

The study made by the authors has proved that thermovibration massage of infrasound frequency (10 Hz) used as an adjuvant in combined treatment of chronic cholecystitis and opisthorchiasis promotes normalization of motor-evacuatory function of the biliary system and intrahepatic hemodynamics, improves biochemical structure of the bile. This improves overall efficacy of the treatment measures.

The study of stomach morphology and function in chronic gastritis treated with phonophoresis of dry mud extract solutions demonstrates a stimulating effect of the treatment on acid production. A positive response was also registered on the part of the structure of gastric mucous lining and functional activity of this epithelium.

Standard kits of reagents, manufactured in the CSSR, intended for measurements of the blood serum and urinary lipids and phosphorus, were used for measurements of these component' concentrations in the bile. The levels of the total lipids and phosphorus in the bladder bile, measured with the use of this kit in normal subjects, did not essentially differ from those reported in literature.
