In the present study, the total concentrations of three cyclic methylsiloxanes (ΣCMSs), including octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) and dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6), in surface water and sediment samples of five main rivers draining into the Bohai Sea were in the range of 1.62-1.39 × 103 ng/L and 1.92-1.69 × 103 ng/g dw, respectively. Riverine input had great influence on the coastal distribution of siloxanes in the Bohai Sea. The concentrations of ΣCMSs in coastal sediments farthest away (40-50 Km) from the estuaries were only 4-33% of those close to the estuaries. But surprisingly, compared with those in coastal sediments (1.03-1.44 × 103 ng/g dw), the concentrations of CMSs (1.56-2.67 × 103 ng/g dw) in some deep-sea sediments were higher, and certain positive correlation existed between sediment ΣCMSs in this area with the total petroleum hydrocarbons concentration (R2 = 0.92, p < 0.05) suggested offshore oil exploitation as one important emission source of siloxanes. Overall, calculated based on their sediment concentrations, D4-D6 had negligible ecological risks to the benthic organisms in river-Bohai Sea system, i.e. HQs < 1. However, sediment-accumulation of siloxanes should be paid attention, especially for some deep-sea sediments nearby drilling platforms, where it will take only less than 1 year for D4 to reach its threshold.

High concentrations (1.08 ng/g-3.61 mg/g) of methylsiloxanes, including cyclic analogs [octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) and dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6)], and linear analogs with 3-14 silicon atoms (L3-L14), have been detected in crude oil, additives and petroleum products from one petroleum refinery facility in China. Overall, the total mass load of Σmethylsiloxanes (1320 kg/day) in crude oil and additives was 1.5 times higher than that in petroleum products (857 kg/day), indicating their potential emissions in this facility, which were further confirmed by the find of their obvious emission through exhaust-gas (89.4 kg/day) and wastewater (4.70 kg/day). Σmethylsiloxanes emission from exhaust-gas discharge outlets of deep catalytic cracking units (60.6 kg/day) took up 68% of their total emission from all gas outlets. Overall, Σmethylsiloxanes in air (17.1-743 µg/m3) and soil samples [311 ng/g dw (dry weight) - 34.2 µg/g dw] from this facility were up to four orders of magnitude greater than those from surrounding areas, and plasma concentrations of Σmethylsiloxanes in current workers from this facility (7.4-609 ng/mL) were up to two orders of magnitude larger than those from reference group (

In two oil-wastewater treatment stations of Shengli Oilfield, cyclic volatile methylsiloxanes (cVMS, D4-D6) in the wastewater stream were found to undergo chlorination during electro-oxidation process for wastewater containing chlorine ions (16.1-42.0 g/L). Their converted fractions were 4.71-28.0% for monochlorinated D4-D6 and 0.22-7.96% for dichlorinated D4, which were ∼2 orders of magnitude higher than those for hydroxylated products. RESUMO

Increasing attention has been given to the field of porous organic frameworks (POFs) due to their unique properties, outstanding performance, and broad applications. Given their extremely high surface area, ordered crystal structure, and ease of tailoring, POFs are promising candidates for gas adsorption and separation, catalysis, supercapacitors, chemosensors, and bio-related applications. Furthermore, their tunable pore size and high agent loading capacity make them promising candidates for drug delivery, whereas their ease of functionalization leads to target specificity and long blood circulation times, which are important properties in bioimaging. For biosensing applications, the pores and channels of POFs can accommodate target molecules and induce specific recognition. POFs can also be applied in phototherapy in combination with photosensitizers. Finally, POF-based artificial shells can encapsulate bioactive molecules and strengthen the resistance of cells to adverse environmental conditions. In this review, we will highlight the research progress of POF-based bio-related applications, including drug delivery, bioimaging, biosensing agents, as well as in phototherapy and artificial shells. Furthermore, the in vitro and in vivo toxicological studies of POFs are discussed as are the prospects and future research directions for POFs in bio-related applications.

RESUMO

This paper aimed to investigate the anti-influenza virus activity of the genus Paeonia, screen potential anti-influenza virus compounds and predict targets of anti-influenza virus to explore the mechanism of anti-influenza virus activity. First of all, a total of 301 compounds of the genus Paeonia were summarized from the literatures in recent ten years. The candidate active ingredients from the genus Paeonia were identified by database such as PubChem and Chemical Book. The ligands were constructed by ChemDraw, Avogadro and Discovery Studio Visualizer. Secondly, 23 potential anti-influenza virus targets were developed by combining the target database and the literatures. Uniprot database was used to find the anti-influenza virus targets, and RCSB was used to identify targets associated with anti-influenza virus activity as docked receptor proteins. QuickVina 2.0 software was used for molecular docking. Finally, the Cytoscape 3.5.1 software was used to map the potential activity compounds of the genus Paeonia against influenza virus and the anti-influenza virus target network. Uniprot online database was used to analyze the target GO enrichment and KEGG metabolic pathways. The results showed that 74 compounds of the genus Paeonia had anti-influenza virus effect and 18 potential anti-influenza virus targets were screened. GO analysis concluded that the mechanism of the genus Paeonia anti-influenza virus is consistent with the mechanism of NA anti-influenza virus in order to stop the sprouting, dispersion and diffusion of virus and reduce the ability of virus to infect, so that the infection can be restricted so as to achieve the anti-influenza virus effect.

Cyclic methylsiloxane standards (D4, D5, and D6) and linear methylsiloxanes (L3 through L16) were detected with high total concentrations (from 5.20 × 10(4) to 1.07 × 10(6) ng/g dw) in 18 oil sludge samples collected from the Shengli oilfield during 2008-2013. In 306 soil samples from this oilfield, the mean concentrations (43.4-125 ng/g dw) and the detection frequencies (65-76%) of D4-D6 were 10.9-11.9 and 2.05-2.24 times higher than those in reference soil samples, respectively. The concentrations of total cyclic siloxanes (ΣCyclic) had positive correlations (R(2) = 0.79, p < 0.05) with the total petroleum hydrocarbons concentration (TPH) in soil, indicating that oil production could release cyclic siloxanes to the environment. During 2008-2013, an increasing tendency (mean of 13.4% per annum) of ΣCyclic was found in soil with high TPH (>5000 mg/kg) but was not found in soil with lower TPH. Elimination experiments showed that petroleum hydrocarbons could reduce the degradation and volatilization rates of D4, D5, and D6 in impacted oilfield soil. The half-lives of D4, D5, and D6 in the opened and capped soil systems with TPH = 400-40 000 mg/kg were 1.19-22.2 and 1.03-7.43 times larger than those in common soil (TPH = 80 mg/kg), respectively. Furthermore, the petroleum hydrocarbons could affect the rearrangement-reaction rates of D5 and D6 in soil.

A technique for the speciation of selenomethylcysteine (SeMeCys), selenocystine (SeCys), selenite [Se(IV)] and selenomethionine (SeMet) was established in this paper using high-performance anion-exchange chromatography coupled with atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HPAEC-AFS). Analytes were separated on an AminoPac PA10 column and then digested by on-line ultraviolet (UV) irradiation, which destroyed organic compound structure. Hydride generation was used as an available sample introduction technique for atomic fluorescence detection. The detection limits of four compounds were 1-5 microg/L (250 microL injection, 10 times of the baseline noise). The relative standard deviations (RSDs), calculated from seven consecutive injections of 100 microg/L standard mixtures, were from 2 to 4%. Selenious yeast tablet, which had been proposed as selenium supplement, and human urine collected from a volunteer were analyzed. Good spiked recoveries from 86 to 103% were obtained.

Speciation analysis of selenomethylcysteine (SeMeCys), selenomethionine (SeMet) and selenocystine (SeCys) has been performed using a direct amino acid analysis method with high-performance anion-exchange chromatography (HPAEC) coupled with integrated pulsed amperometric detection (IPAD). Three selenoamino acids could be baseline-separated from 19 amino acids using gradient elution conditions for amino acids and determined under new six-potential waveform. Detection limits for SeMeCys, SeMet and SeCys were 0.25, 1 and 20 microg/L (25 microL injection, 10 times of the baseline noise), respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 200 microg/L SeMeCys, SeMet and SeCys were 3.1, 4.1 and 2.8%, respectively (n=9, 25 microL injection). The proposed method has been applied for determination of selenoamino acids in extracts of garlic and selenious yeast granule samples. No selenoamino acids were found in garlic. Both SeMet and SeCys were detected in selenious yeast tablet with the content of 45 and 129 microg Se/g, respectively. Selenoamino acids standards were spiked in garlic and yeast granule samples and the recovery ranged from 90 to 106%.
