RESUMO

The utilization of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) in agriculture has long been proposed as an eco-friendly method to enhance soil phosphorus (P) availability, thereby reducing reliance on chemical P fertilizers. However, their application in saline soils is challenged by salt-induced stress on common PSB strains. In this study, we sourced bacterial strains from marine environments, aiming to identify robust PSB strains adaptable to saline conditions and assess their potential as P bio-fertilizers through a microcosm experiment. Our findings indicate that the inoculation of a selected marine PSB, Bacillus paramycoides 3-1a, increased soil available P content by 12.5% when applied alone and by 61.2% when combined with organic amendments. This enhancement results from improved inorganic P solubilization and organic P mineralization in soils. Additionally, these treatments raised soil nitrogen levels, reshaped microbial community structures, and significantly enhanced wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) growth, with P accumulation increasing by 24.2-40.9%. Our results underscore the potential of marine PSB in conjunction with organic amendments for the amelioration of saline agricultural soils.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) has been suggested as an effective mind-body approach for relieving stress in patients with chronic diseases. As of yet, there is no conclusive research on MBSR's role in reducing affective disorders among cancer patients. A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to determine whether MBSR has an impact on loneliness, anxiety, and depression in cancer patients. METHODS: Systematic searches were conducted in PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from the start of these databases to January 2nd, 2022 to identify relevant randomized controlled trials. Two authors independently conducted the literature search, collected the data, and performed the statistical analysis. In order to account for potential between-study heterogeneity, a random-effect model was used in the meta-analysis. RESULTS: The meta-analysis included 16 studies with 2072 cancer patients. Among the 16 studies, 13 included patients with breast cancer, and the follow-up duration ranged from 6 to 53 weeks. Compared to controls receiving standard cancer care, interventions of MBSR with sessions for 6 to 8 weeks significantly improved loneliness (standard mean difference [SMD]: -0.35, 95% confidence interval [CI]: -0.59 to -0.12, P = .003, I2 = 46%), anxiety (SMD: -0.51, 95% CI: -0.73 to -0.30, P < .001, I2 = 77%), and depression (SMD: -0.61, 95% CI: -1.02 to -0.20, P = .004, I2 = 94%) in patients with cancer. CONCLUSION: According to recent research, MBSR may be beneficial to patients diagnosed with cancer who are feeling lonely, anxious, or depressed.

RESUMO

The mixing process is one of the key operation units for solid preparation of traditional Chinese medicine. The physical properties such as particle size, density and viscosity of the mixture are key factors that need to be controlled, which will directly affect the performance of the preparation molding process and product quality. Subsequent dripping process performance and appearance qua-lity of dripping pills will be affected by dynamic viscosity of materials in the mixing process. Based on this, with mixing process of compound Danshen dripping pills as the object, a feedforward control method for the dripping pill mixing process was established based on the concept of quality by design(QbD). Firstly, critical quality attribute(CQA)-dynamic viscosity, critical material attributes(CMAs)-the moisture content of compound Danshen extract, average molecular weight of polyethylene glycol 6000 and critical process parameter(CPP)-mixing temperature were identified through the analysis of properties for multiple batches of the raw materials and excipients as well as technological mechanism. Then the Box-Behnken experimental design was used to establish the regression model among CMA, CPP and CMA(R■=0.972 0, RMSE =16.24) to obtain the design space. Finally, through the verification of three batches within the design space, the mixing process temperature was adjusted according to the properties of the raw materials and exci-pients to achieve accurate control of the dynamic viscosity attribute. The relative deviation between the actual dynamic viscosity value and the target value was less than 3.0 %. The feedforward control of the mixing process of compound Danshen dripping pills was rea-lized in this study, which can contribute to improving quality consistency of the mixing process intermediates, simultaneously provide a reference for the research on the process quality control of other Chinese medicine dripping pills.

RESUMO

Near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) was applied to discriminate the roots of salvia miltiorhiza Bunge (Danshen for short) and Salvia yunnanensis C. H. Wright (Zidanshen for short) by means of principal component analysis (PCA), improved and simplified K nearest neighbors (IS-KNN). Furthermore, an ultra-high performance liquid chromatographic (UHPLC) coupled with photodiode-array detector was developed for building fingerprints of lipophilic components of Danshen and Zidanshen, respectively. Basing on NIR information, both PCA and IS-KNN method classified the two kinds of Chinese medical herbs with 100% accuracy. The chromatographic fingerprints of the lipophilic components of Danshen and Zidanshen have 10 and 12 common peaks, respectively. Liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectroscopy (LC-MS-MS) was applied to identify these peaks. Among these, three small peaks in the fingerprints of Zidanshen are not found in Danshen, one of which was identified as α-lapachone, and the other two compounds were not yet identified; a small peak after tanshinone IIA in the fingerprints of Danshen was not found in Zidanshen, which was identified as miltirone. The two herbs have 10 common lipophilic components. The similarity between the two reference chromatograms of Zidanshen and Danshen is 0.902, but the mean similaritie between Zidanshen (or Danshen) fingerprints and its own reference chromatogram is 0.973 (or 0.976). The contents of main lipophilic components are significantly lower in Zidanshen than in Danshen (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05). The results indicate that the two Chinese medical materials are not only different in NIR spectra, but also different in species and quantities of lipophilic components. NIR spectra analysis can identify Danshen and Zidanshen rapidly and accurately. UHPLC coupled with MS analysis demonstrates the detail differences between the two herbs both in species and contents of their lipophilic components.
