RESUMO

Objective: To observe the time-effect relationship of moxibustion for primary dysmenorrhea (PD) due to stagnation and congelation of cold-damp, thus explore the optimal choice of moxibustion duration, and provide evidence for achieving satisfactory efficacy in moxibustion treatment. Methods: A total of 90 patients with PD due to stagnatin and congelation of cold-damp were divided into three groups by the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. All the patients in the three groups were given moxibustion treatment at Guanyuan (CV 4), 20 min in group A, 40 min in group B and 60 min in group C. The changes in the pain measurement score in the three groups were observed after treatment. Results: After treatment, there were significant differences in the clinical efficacy among the three groups (P<0.05); the clinical efficacy was better in group B and group C than that in group A (P<0.05), and that in group B was better than that in group C (P<0.05). Besides, the pain measurement score changed significantly after treatment in the three groups (all P<0.05), and the between-group differences were also statistically significant (P<0.05); the pain measurement scores in group B and group C were lower than that in group A (P<0.05), and that in group B was lower than that in group C (P<0.05). Conclusion: Given the same stimulating frequency and intervention time of moxibustion, 40-minute duration demonstrates relatively better efficacy for PD due to stagnation and congelation of cold-damp.

RESUMO

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) micro/nanostructures are desirable for tuning electronic properties, developing required functionality, and improving the existing performance of multilayer MoS2 devices. This work presents a useful method to flexibly microprocess multilayer MoS2 flakes through femtosecond laser pulse direct writing, which can directly fabricate regular MoS2 nanoribbon arrays with ribbon widths of 179, 152, 116, 98, and 77 nm, and arbitrarily pattern MoS2 flakes to form micro/nanostructures such as single nanoribbon, labyrinth array, and cross structure. This method is mask-free and simple and has high flexibility, strong controllability, and high precision. Moreover, numerous oxygen molecules are chemically and physically adsorbed on laser-processed MoS2, attributed to roughness defect sites and edges of micro/nanostructures that contain numerous unsaturated edge sites and highly active centers. In addition, electrical tests of the field-effect transistor fabricated from the prepared MoS2 nanoribbon arrays reveal new interesting features: output and transfer characteristics exhibit a strong rectification (not going through zero and bipolar conduction) of drain-source current, which is supposedly attributed to the parallel structures with many edge defects and p-type chemical doping of oxygen molecules on MoS2 nanoribbon arrays. This work demonstrates the ability of femtosecond laser pulses to directly induce micro/nanostructures, property changes, and new device properties of two-dimensional materials, which may enable new applications in electronic devices based on MoS2 such as logic circuits, complementary circuits, chemical sensors, and p-n diodes.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of CT-guided 125 I seed implantation in the treatment of recurrent head and neck tumors after radiotherapy. Methods Clinical data of 101 patients who received CT-guided radioactive 125 I seed implantation for recurrent head and neck cancer after radiotherapy from 2007 to 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The median accumulated dose of external radiotherapy was 66 Gy and the median dose after seed implantation (D90) was 117 Gy. The local progression-free survival and overall survival were analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Univariate analysis was performed by log-rank test and multivariate analysis was conducted by using Cox regression model. Results The median follow-up time was 12. 2 months. The 5-year local progression-free survival rate was 26. 6%.The 5-year overall survival rate was 15. 5%. Univariate analysis demonstrated that age, pathological type, implantation site, lesion volume,D90 and short-term efficacy were correlated with local control, and KPS score, lesion volume ,D90,and short-term efficacy were associated with survival (all P<0. 05). Multivariate analysis revealed that pathological type, lesion volume ,D90 and short-term efficacy were independent factors related to local control (P= 0. 000, 0. 002,0. 003 and 0. 014).In terms of the adverse events,skin/ mucosal ulceration was observed in 25. 7% and pain occurred in 13. 9% of all patients. No correlation was noted between the adverse events and dose. Conclusions CT-guided radioactive 125 I seed implantation is an efficacious and safe treatment of recurrent head and neck tumors after radiotherapy. Non-squamous carcinoma, small lesion volume and high dose (D90) indicate excellent local control.

RESUMO

Based on leads provided by Neijing and other literature, analyze origins of the three-yin and the three-yang and the their respective contents of yin and yang, indicating the principle that the order of yang-qi from more to less is Yang ming, Tai yang, Shao yang, and the order of yin-qi is Tai yin, Shao yin, Jue yin. According to the location of five (six) zang-organs, respective yin-qi content is defined, and according to the principle of more yin-qi matches more, and less yin-qi matches less, five (six) zang-organs match each other. The zang-organs above the diaphragm joints with The Hand-Channels and the zang-organs below the diaphragm with The Foot-Channels, completing the nomenclature of twelve meridians. The names of the six yang-channels correspond to the yin-channels of the exterior-interior relationship, the yin-channels link with hands (feet), and the yang-channels also link with hands (feet), and the amount of yin-qi of the zang-organs corresponding to the yin-channels and the amount of yang-qi of the fu-organs corresponding to yang-channels are in a state of balance. Based on this principle, nomenclature of six channels are completed. Emphasize that the nomenclature of twelve meridians contains profound TCM theories, especially, TCM, by yin-yang, three-yin and three- yang, illustrates living phenomena from the whole to the system and organ level in human body, and the scientific principle "yin-yang can be unlimitedly divided" and its significance, which must guide the studies on living phenomena with modern life sciences from the whole to the molecular level.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe the influence of acupuncture of Shenmen (HT 7) and Yanglao (SI 6) on neuro-images in different cerebral regions in volunteer subjects. METHODS: Twelve healthy young volunteer participants were enrolled in this research. fMRI scans were taken in random order in a block design (one for baseline and two for acupuncture stimulations). During stimulation phase, an acupuncture needle inserted in right HT7 or S16 was twirled at an angle of 180 degrees and a frequency of about 1.5 Hz for 35. 6 ms. Main parameters for fMRI were TR/TE/FA = 3560 ms/50 ms/90 degrees. Acupuncture sensations were evaluated by means of visual analog scale (VAS). The collected images were analyzed by using SPM 2 for exploring inter-group differences in blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) responses. RESULTS: When manipulating the needle, both the operator and the subject had a feeling of Deqi. Increases in BOLD signal (group analysis, corrected, 0.05, K > or =10) were found mainly in right postcentral gyrus of frontal lobe (BA 2, BA 1, BA 43), left inferior frontal gyrus (BA 47), secondarily, in the right inferior parietal lobule (BA 40), right inferior frontal gyrus (BA 44), left superior temporal gyrus (BA 22) and right insula (BA 40) after acupuncture at HT7; and chiefly in left inferior parietal lobule (BA 40), right inferior frontal gyrus (BA 45, BA 46), secondarily in the left middle temporal gyrus and inferior temporal gyrus (BA 37) as well as the left superior frontal gyrus (BA 10) after acupuncture of S16. CONCLUSION: Acupuncture of HT7 and SI6 elicite different BOLD responses in some related cerebral regions.

RESUMO

After consulting literature, following the original meaning of the paper about slow-rapid reinforcing-reducing method in Huangdi's Internal Classic, in combination with explanation of later ages, and comprehension and clinical experience of the authors, it is put forward that the slow-rapid reinforcing-reducing method in Huangdi's Internal Classic is not single manipulation method, but it is a guiding principle for reinforcing-reducing manipulation, it includes many manipulation methods and they were listed, and all of the reinforcing-reducing methods of later ages are developed from these. In the teaching material Acupuncture and Moxibustion Sciences they are included in single reinforcing-reducing method, reducing extension and intension of this definition. The relative description in the teaching material only is slow-rapid reinforcing-reducing method of narrow sense, but the manipulations can be divided into qi-carrying manipulating needle type and three-one pushing-pulling type.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To prove the therapeutic effect of ginger-partitioned moxibustion on leukopenia induced by chemotherapy and effect on life quality of the patient with tumor after chemotherapy. METHODS: Randomized, controlled, multi-central cooperative method was used and the patients confirmed to the enrolled criteria were divided in-to two groups. The test group were treated with ginger-partitioned moxibustion at Dazhui (GV 14), Geshu (BL 17), Pishu (BL 20), etc.; and the control group with oral administration of Chinese patent medicine. RESULTS: Out of the 221 cases confirmed to program analysis, 113 cases were in the test group and 108 cases in the control group. After 10 days, the cured rate and the effective rate were 84.1% and 66.4% in the test group and 35.2% and 33.3% in the control group, respectively, with very significant differences between the two groups (both P < 0.01); fifteen days later, the therapeutic effects in the two groups were maintained. The two methods could improve clinical symptoms, with the test group being better than the control group. Any adverse response was not found in the two groups, and the injuries of functions of the heart, lung and kidney induced by chemotherapy had some improvement. CONCLUSION: The therapeutic effect of ginger-partitioned moxibustion on luekopenia induced by chemotherapy is reliable and is better than oral administration of Chinese patent medicine, with a better duplication.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study the influence of selenium and fluoride on apoptosis and lipid peroxidation in human hepatocytes in vitro. METHODS: The apoptosis, cell cycle, GSH content and lipid peroxides (LPO) level in human hepatocytes, LPO level and LDH, AST and ALT activity in cell culture supernatants were investigated after hepatocytes were incubated with selenium and/or fluoride for around 12 hours periods in vitro. RESULTS: The percentage of hepatocyte apoptosis bodies (15.557 +/- 2.056)%, the number of cells in S phase (4.823 +/- 0.454)% and LPO level in liver tissue and supernatant [(2.884 +/- 0.589) and (3.547 +/- 0.561) nmol/L MDA/mg.prot, respectively], AST and LDH activity in supernatants (91.1 +/- 36.4 and 140.4 +/- 7.6 U/L, respectively) in the fluoride treated group was higher than the control group [(10.313 +/- 1.023)%, (3.253 +/- 0.743)%, (1.473 +/- 0.401) nmol/L MDA/mg.prot, (1.694 +/- 0.443) nmol/L MDA/mg.prot, (54.5 +/- 3.2) U/L and (126.4 +/- 2.6) U/L, respectively], The GSH content in live tissue [(4.225 +/- 0.781) microgram/mg.prot] is lower than control group [(7.595 +/- 1.042) microgram/mg.prot]. Selenium treatment reduced these kinds of toxicity of fluoride through raising GSH content, reducing LPO level, LDH and AST activity and percentage of apoptosis bodies. CONCLUSIONS: Selenium can antagonist apoptosis and lipid peroxidation of hepatocytes induced by fluoride.
