RESUMO

The objective of this study was to reduce the stockpile of steel slag, which is a solid waste generated in the steelmaking process, and promote the resource utilization of steel slag powder (SSP) in construction projects. Experimental research was conducted on SSP and fly ash (FA) as supplementary cementitious materials. Composite cement paste samples were prepared to investigate the effects of the water-to-binder ratio and cement-substitution rate on the macroscopic mechanical properties, including the setting time, fluidity, flexural strength, and compressive strength of the prepared paste. The mineral composition in the raw materials was measured using X-ray diffraction (XRD), and a micro-morphological and structural analysis of the hydrated cementitious material samples was performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM); the SEM and Image Pro Plus (IPP) image analysis techniques were combined for a quantitative analysis of the microstructure. The results showed that the addition of FA and SSP delayed the hydration of cement, thereby improving the flowability of the composite paste. Under the same curing age and cement substitution rate, the sample strength decreased with increasing water-to-binder ratio. Under the same water-to-binder ratio and curing age, the variations in the flexural and compressive strengths of the SSP group samples were inconsistent in the early and later stages, and the sample group with 20% SSP exhibited optimal mechanical strength in the later stage. The microscopic results showed that the needle-like AFt crystals in the hydrated pores decreased in number with the increase in the SSP content. The hydration products of the FA-SSP admixture, such as C-S-H gel and RO phase, acted as pore fillers in alkaline environments. When the water-to-binder ratio was 0.4 and the FA-to-SSP ratio was 1:1 to replace 40% cement, the performance of the hardened cement paste was the best among all the test groups containing both FA and SSP. This study provides a theoretical basis for the practical application of SSP and FA as cementitious materials in construction-related fields.

PURPOSE: To assess the effect of aromatherapy with lavender oil alone, and in combination with music, on pain and anxiety during extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy for kidney stones. METHODS: This was a single-centre prospective, randomised controlled trial. The subjects were block randomised into 3 study groups, Group 1: Control; Group 2: Aromatherapy only; Group 3: Aromatherapy and music. All subjects were given patient-controlled intravenous alfentanil as standard analgesia. The primary outcome measures were pain and anxiety scores using visual analogue scale (VAS) and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. RESULTS: Ninety patients were recruited and randomised prospectively into Group 1 (n = 30), Group 2 (n = 30), and Group 3 (n = 30). For pain outcome, both Group 2 and Group 3 showed a trend towards lower mean VAS pain scores of 2.73 in both groups compared to the control with a mean VAS score of 3.50, but it was not statistically significant (p = 0.272). There was no significant difference in anxiety scores between groups post-treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Our study was unable to show a significant improvement in pain relief and anxiety when aromatherapy with lavender oil was added to standard analgesia alone during shockwave lithotripsy. There was also no difference when aromatherapy was combined with music.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is characterized by the loss of expression of several biomarkers, which limits treatment strategies for the disease. In recent years, immunotherapy has shown promising results in the treatment of various tumors. Emerging evidence demonstrated that TNBC is an immune-activated cancer, suggesting that immunotherapy could be a feasible treatment option for TNBC. Cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cell therapy is considered as a potential treatment for cancer treatment. However, it is still not approved as a standard treatment in the clinical setting. Our previous study demonstrated that focal adhesion kinase (FAK) plays important role in regulating the sensitivity of TNBC cells to CIK cells. In this study, we further verify the role of FAK in regulating the immune response in vivo. Our in vitro study indicated that knockdown of FAK in TNBC cells or treat with the FAK inhibitor followed by co-culture with CIK cells induced more cell death than CIK cells treatment only. RNA-seq analysis indicated that suppression of FAK could affect several immune-related gene expressions in TNBC cells that affects the immune response in the tumor microenvironment of TNBC cells. The combination of FAK inhibitor and CIK cells significantly suppressed tumor growth than the treatment of FAK inhibitor or CIK cells alone in vivo. Our findings provide new insights into the cytotoxic effect of CIK cell therapy in TNBC treatment and indicate that the combination of CIK cell therapy with FAK inhibitors may be an alternative therapeutic strategy for patients with TNBC.

BACKGROUND: Corrected QT (QTc) interval prolongation is one of the common causes of sudden cardiac death in patients with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients. However, there are few studies on QTc prolongation in MHD patients. The concentration of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in hemodialysis population increased, and LDH was associated with the mortality of MHD patients. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between QTc interval prolongation and LDH in MHD patients. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional observational study. Patients who underwent MHD for more than 3 months in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from November 2012 to November 2019 with complete data were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into the normal QTc interval group and the QTc interval prolongation group. The general data of patients and clinical laboratory indicators were collected retrospectively from the electronic medical record system. Pearson correlation analysis and binary logistic regression were used to analyze the correlation between LDH and QTc interval prolongation; the cut-off value of LDH predicting QTc interval prolongation was calculated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. RESULTS: The LDH level in the prolonged QTc interval group was significantly higher than that in the normal group (301.96±110.91 vs. 215.39±67.65, t=-8.03, P<0.001). QTc interval and LDH (r=0.386) were positively correlated. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that LDH, serum potassium <4 mmol/L, serum phosphorus, and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDd) were independent related factors for QTc interval prolongation. The ROC curve results showed that LDH =220 U/L was the best cutoff point for predicting QTc interval prolongation in MHD patients, with a sensitivity of 81.45% and a specificity of 59.35%. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that the LDH >220 U/L group was 6.34 times more likely to have QTc interval prolongation than the LDH ≤220 U/L group (OR 6.34, 95% CI: 3.47-11.58, P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: LDH in MHD patients is closely related to QTc interval prolongation. Serum LDH, ionic calcium, serum phosphorus and potassium may predict QTc interval prolongation. Monitoring related indicators can remind clinicians to intervene as soon as possible to reduce the potential risk of arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death (SCD).

AIMS: Glycyrrhizic acid is a natural anti-non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) compound isolated from licorice, while its action mechanism deserves to be fully elucidated. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Enlightened by the widely discovered associations between the NAFLD and gut microbiota, this study aimed to explore whether glycyrrhizic acid, licorice flavonoids, and licorice extract can regulate the gut microbiota of rats fed a high-fat diet. KEY FINDINGS: It was found that glycyrrhizic acid, licorice flavonoids, and licorice extract could significantly reduce the level of triglycerides in the liver of NAFLD model rats, and the effect of glycyrrhizic acid was stronger than licorice flavonoids and licorice extract. Moreover, they caused significant changes in the structural composition of the gut microbiota. Correlation analysis showed that the regulation of hepatic total cholesterol and triglyceride levels by glycyrrhizic acid treatment was closely related to the decrease of the relative abundances of Lachnospiraceae, Coriobacteriaceae, Blautia, and Collinsella and the increase of the relative abundances of Romboutsia and Turicibacter on the gut microbiota. Meanwhile, the functional predictive analysis of the gut microbiota indicated that the function of carbohydrate transport and metabolism was significantly decreased by drugs treatment, which might contribute to the decrease of fat accumulation in the liver of rats. SIGNIFICANCE: In conclusion, this study revealed the ameliorating effects of glycyrrhizic acid, licorice flavonoids, and licorice extract on NAFLD, and suggested that the effect of glycyrrhizic acid on NAFLD may be related to the improvement of the dysbiosis of gut microbiota.

The potential of micronutrients, including vitamins and minerals, to prevent Alzheimer's disease (AD) has attracted much attention. However, the causal associations between micronutrient levels or supplements and AD risk remain unclear. We performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization (2SMR) analysis to evaluate the causal associations between micronutrient levels and supplements and AD risk. A total of 60 genome-wide association studies (GWAS) related to five types of vitamins (vitamins A, B, C, D, and E) and seven types of minerals (magnesium, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, selenium, and phosphorus) were included. For vitamins, using the data source provided by two GWAS, the analysis of 2SMR indicated that the vitamin D level was causally associated with a decreased risk of AD (IVW, OR: 0.474, 95%CI: 0.269-0.834, P-value = 0.010; OR: 0.857, 95%CI: 0.748-0.982, P-value = 0.027), while no effect of vitamin D supplement was observed. Currently, available data do not support the causal associations between the other four types of vitamins/supplements and AD risk. As for minerals, the copper level acted as a causal protective factor for AD risk (IVW, OR: 0.865, 95%CI: 0.751-0.998, P-value = 0.046). In conclusion, the present analysis indicated that among the vitamins and minerals, vitamin D and copper levels exhibited negative causal associations with AD risk, which may help in better use of micronutrients to prevent AD and require further verification by further studies.

The mitochondrion is a very versatile organelle that participates in some important cancer-associated biological processes, including energy metabolism, oxidative stress, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutation, cell apoptosis, mitochondria-nuclear communication, dynamics, autophagy, calcium overload, immunity, and drug resistance in ovarian cancer. Multiomics studies have found that mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and apoptosis signaling pathways act in human ovarian cancer, which demonstrates that mitochondria play critical roles in ovarian cancer. Many molecular targeted drugs have been developed against mitochondrial dysfunction pathways in ovarian cancer, including olive leaf extract, nilotinib, salinomycin, Sambucus nigra agglutinin, tigecycline, and eupatilin. This review article focuses on the underlying biological roles of mitochondrial dysfunction in ovarian cancer progression based on omics data, potential molecular relationship between mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress, and future perspectives of promising biomarkers and therapeutic targets based on the mitochondrial dysfunction pathway for ovarian cancer.

Vine tea has been used as an herbal tea by several ethnic minorities for hundreds of years in China. Flavonoids, a kind of indispensable component in a variety of nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications, are identified to be the major metabolites and bioactive ingredients in vine tea. Interestingly, vine tea exhibits a wide range of significant bioactivities including anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antidiabetic, neuroprotective and other activities, but no toxicity. These bioactivities, to some extent, enrich the understanding about the role of vine tea in disease prevention and therapy. The health benefits of vine tea, particularly dihydromyricetin and myricetin, are widely investigated. However, there is currently no comprehensive review available on vine tea. Therefore, this report summarizes the most recent studies investigating bioactive constituents, pharmacological effects and possible mechanisms of vine tea, which will provide a better understanding about the health benefits and preclinical assessment of novel application of vine tea.

Phosphorus (P) is highly related to water quality during shrimp culture. Recognizing P transformation in pond-based cultures is crucial for sustainable and healthy aquaculture. However, P transformation remains unclear in the sediment of Penaeus vannamei cultures, although commercial species have been pervasive worldwide. To determine P transformation, samples with different culture years were collected from Zhejiang province, China. Sequential chemical extraction was applied to reveal the composition of inorganic P, while phosphatase activity was used to evaluate the biomineralization of organic P. The results indicated that the consecutive culture of Penaeus vannamei promoted the dissolution potential of sedimentary P. This was attributed to anoxic iron reduction that increased the formation of loosely bound P and Fe (II)-P. However, this phenomenon was dominated by biomineralization, which transformed the organic P to inorganic P. The results suggested that consecutive culture changed the microbial community structure in the sediment as well as the gene functions. The Shannon Wiener index showed that increasing the culture duration significantly decreased the stability of the microbial community. Overall, this study suggests that long-term consecutive culture of Penaeus vannamei may increase the P release potential of the sediment, which increases the risk of pond eutrophication.

Increasing intestinal barrier function is one of the basic methods to suppress inflammation in the progression from simple steatosis (SS) to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Luteolin exists widely in vegetables, fruits and natural herbs and has various biological activities, including benefits on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, its regulatory effects on the gut microbiota and involvement in its biological activities remain to be investigated. We fed rats a high-fat diet containing 0.5% luteolin for 12 weeks and determined the effects of luteolin on lipid metabolism, inflammation, and the gut microbiota. Supplementation with luteolin for 12 weeks significantly reduced blood lipids and hepatic lipid levels and improved liver fat accumulation and inflammation. Moreover, supplementation with luteolin led to the significant enrichment of more than 10% of gut bacterial species, which contributed to increase the abundance of ZO-1, reduce intestinal permeability, reduce plasma lipopolysaccharide, and inhibit the TLR4/NF-κB pathway. In summary, the anti-inflammatory effect of luteolin might be related to changes in the gut microbiota and contribute to preventing the progression from SS to NASH. Our research provides new insights into the anti-inflammatory mechanism of luteolin and supports its use as a dietary supplement for NAFLD patients.

In recent years, the relationship between type 2 diabetes (T2D) and gut microbiota has attracted much interest. Dendrobium officinale is a valuable traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with anti-T2D potential, while its action mechanism remains to be further studied. This study was designed to investigate the modulation effects of D. officinale on gut microbiota of T2D model mice to provide clues to its pharmacology by high-throughput sequencing techniques. It was found that D. officinale supplement could significantly reduce the fasting blood glucose levels of T2D mice. Dendrobium officinale supplement could modulate the composition of gut microbiota and increase the relative abundances of key bacterial taxa associated with T2D development, including Akkermansia and Parabacteroides. Compared with placebo group mice, several Kyoto Encyclopedia of Gene and Genomes pathways associated with T2D altered in the D. officinale treated group. These findings indicated the modulation of D. officinale on gut microbiota of T2D mice, which provide potential pharmacological implications.

BACKGROUND: In recent years, the efficacy of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) drugs in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has attracted extensive interest owing to the close associations between the two diseases. OBJECTIVE: Here, we screened traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and multi-target ingredients that may have potential therapeutic effects on both T2DM and AD from T2DM prescriptions. METHODS: Network pharmacology and molecular docking were used. RESULTS: Firstly, the top 10 frequently used herbs and corresponding 275 active ingredients were identified from 263 T2DM-related TCM prescriptions. Secondly, through the comparative analysis of 208 potential targets of ingredients, 1,740 T2DM-related targets, and 2,060 AD-related targets, 61 common targets were identified to be shared. Thirdly, by constructing pharmacological network, 26 key targets and 154 representative ingredients were identified. Further enrichment analysis showed that common targets were involved in regulating multiple pathways related to T2DM and AD, while network analysis also found that the combination of Danshen (Radix Salviae)-Gancao (Licorice)-Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae) contained the vast majority of the representative ingredients and might be potential for the cotreatment of the two diseases. Fourthly, MAPK1, PPARG, GSK3B, BACE1, and NR3C1 were selected as potential targets for virtual screening of multi-target ingredients. Further docking studies showed that multiple natural compounds, including salvianolic acid J, gancaonin H, gadelaidic acid, icos-5-enoic acid, and sigmoidin-B, exhibited high binding affinities with the five targets. CONCLUSION: To summarize, the present study provides a potential TCM combination that might possess the potential advantage of cotreatment of AD and T2DM.

Transition metal ions are essential micronutrients for all living organisms and exert a wide range of effects on human health. The uptake of transition metal ions occurs primarily in the gastrointestinal tract, which is colonized by trillions of bacterial cells. In recent years, increasing studies have indicated that transition metals have regulatory effects on the gut microbiota. In view of the significant effect of the gut microbiota on human health and involvement in the pathogenesis of a wide range of diseases, in this paper, we provide a comprehensive discussion on the regulatory effects of four kinds of transition metal ions on the gut microbiota. A total of 20 animal model and human studies concerning the regulatory effects of four types of transition metal ions (i.e., iron, copper, zinc, and manganese) on gut microbiota were summarized. Both the deficiency and supplementation of these transition metal ions on the gut microbiota were considered. Furthermore, the potential mechanisms governing the regulatory effects of transition metal ions on the gut microbiota were also discussed. KEY POINTS : • Regulatory effects of iron, copper, zinc, and manganese on gut microbiota were reviewed. • Both deficiency and supplementation of metal ions on gut microbiota were considered. • Mechanisms governing effects of metal ions on gut microbiota were discussed.

Ginseng contains a variety of flavonol glycosides that possess diverse biological activities; however, scant information of flavonoid glycosylation was reported in ginseng. We found that panasenoside and kaempferol 3-O-glucoside were commonly accumulated along with cultivation years in leaves. In order to explore the procedure of flavonol glycosylation in ginseng, 50 UDP-glycosyltransferases (UGTs) were screened out using differentiated data-independent acquisition (DIA) proteomics and phylogenetic analysis. UGT92A10 and UGT94Q4 were found contributing to the formation of kaempferol 3-O-glucoside. UGT73A18, UGT74T4, and UGT75W1 could catalyze galactosylation of kaempferol 3-O-glucoside. Ser278, Trp335, Gln338, and Val339 were found forming hydrogen bonds with UDP-galactose in UGT75W1 by docking. MeJA induced transcripts of UGT73A18 and UGT74T4 by over fourfold, consistent with the decrease of kaempferol 3-O-glucoside, which indicated that these genes may be related to resisting adversity stress in ginseng. These results highlight the significance of integrative metabolite profiles, proteomics, and phylogenetic analysis for exploring flavonol glycosylation in ginseng.

Vine tea has been used as an herbal tea by several ethnic minorities for hundreds of years in China.Flavonoids,a kind of indispensable component in a variety of nutraceutical,pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications,are identified to be the major metabolites and bioactive ingredients in vine tea.Interest-ingly,vine tea exhibits a wide range of significant bioactivities including anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory,anti-tumor,antidiabetic,neuroprotective and other activities,but no toxicity.These bioactivities,to some extent,enrich the understanding about the role of vine tea in disease prevention and therapy.The health benefits of vine tea,particularly dihydromyricetin and myricetin,are widely investigated.However,there is currently no comprehensive review available on vine tea.Therefore,this report summarizes the most recent studies investigating bioactive constituents,pharmacological effects and possible mechanisms of vine tea,which will provide a better understanding about the health benefits and preclinical assessment of novel application of vine tea.

This study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the novel monosulfactam 0073 against multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria in vitro and in vivo and to characterize the mechanisms underlying 0073 activity. The in vitro activities of 0073, aztreonam, and the combination with avibactam were assessed by MIC and time-kill assays. The safety of 0073 was evaluated using 3-(4,5-dimethylthizol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and acute toxicity assays. Murine thigh infection and pneumonia models were employed to define in vivo efficacy. A penicillin-binding protein (PBP) competition assay and confocal microscopy were conducted. The inhibitory action of 0073 against ß-lactamases was evaluated by the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50), and resistance development was evaluated via serial passage. The monosulfactam 0073 showed promising antimicrobial activity against Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii isolates producing metallo-ß-lactamases (MBLs) and serine ß-lactamases. In preliminary experiments, compound 0073 exhibited safety both in vitro and in vivo In the murine thigh infection model and the pneumonia models in which infection was induced by P. aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae, 0073 significantly reduced the bacterial burden. Compound 0073 targeted several PBPs and exerted inhibitory effects against some serine ß-lactamases. Finally, 0073 showed a reduced propensity for resistance selection compared with that of aztreonam. The novel monosulfactam 0073 exhibited increased activity against ß-lactamase-producing Gram-negative organisms compared with the activity of aztreonam and showed good safety profiles both in vitro and in vivo The underlying mechanisms may be attributed to the affinity of 0073 for several PBPs and its inhibitory activity against some serine ß-lactamases. These data indicate that 0073 represents a potential treatment for infections caused by ß-lactamase-producing multidrug-resistant bacteria.

With the steadily increasing prevalence of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and great difficulties encountered for AD drug development presently, much interest has been devoted to identifying modifiable risk factors to lower the risk of AD, while the causal associations between risk factors and AD remain inconclusive. The present study conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the causal associations between risk factors and AD development by taking the recent advancements of Mendelian randomization (MR). Inverse variance weighted (IVW), MR-Egger, weighted median, and weighted mode were used for complementary calculation. A total of 45 risk factors and corresponding studies were covered in the study. This two-sample MR (2SMR) analysis provided a suggestive association between genetically predicted higher years of schooling and reduced risks of AD, and each standard deviation (3.71 years) increased in years of schooling was associated with a 41% reduction in the risk of AD (IVW, OR: 0.59, 95% CI: 0.45-0.77). At the same time, it was genetically predicted that urate might be a risk factor in AD, and it was found that each standard deviation increase in urate levels (1.33 mg/dL) was associated with a 0.09-fold increase in the risk of AD (IVW, OR: 1.09, 95% CI: 1.01-1.18). To summarize, the 2SMR analysis indicated a suggestive association between genetically predicted higher years of schooling and reduced risks of AD, and between genetically predicted higher urate levels and increased risks of AD. The findings provide useful clues to help combat AD and warrants future studies.

Novel organic-inorganic hybrid coating materials were developed using amino silanes and acetoacetylated soybean oil. The acetoacetylated soybean oil was prepared from soybean oil (a renewable resource) using a solvent-free method involving a thiol-ene and transesterification reactions, and the chemical structure was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and viscosity analyses. On the basis of the acetoacetylated soybean oil, several organic-inorganic hybrid coating materials were prepared using different amino silanes by a catalyst-free method involving one-step comprising two reactions (an amine-acetoacetate reaction and an in situ sol-gel technique), and their crosslinked structures were determined from their FT-IR and solid-state 29Si NMR spectra. The resulting coating materials have good mechanical/chemical performance. This method for preparing renewable organic-inorganic hybrid coating materials may have wide uses because plant oils contain many unsaturated C[double bond, length as m-dash]C bonds and easy access to acetoacetate functional groups.

Tea is one of the most popular beverages in the world and possesses a wide range of beneficial effects for human health. The modulation of tea on gut microbiota has gained much interest in recent years. The present study discussed the modulation effect of various types of tea on gut microbiota, which plays crucial roles in human health, as investigated by in vitro animal and human studies. The currently available findings from a total of 23 studies support the modulation effects of tea liquid, tea extract, and its major active components, including polyphenols, polysaccharides, and teasaponin, on gut microbiota. Overall, tea possesses prebiotic-like effect and can alleviate the gut microbiota dysbiosis induced by high-fat diet in gut microbiota, despite the detailed bacterial taxa may alter depending on the types of tea supplemented. Current evidence implies that the modulation effect on gut microbiota may be an important action mechanism underlying the beneficial effect of tea consumption in daily life and also the great potential of strategically chosen tea extract to develop functional foods.

American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius L.) is a well-known Asian traditional herbal medicine with a large market demand. The plant is native to eastern North America, and its main producing areas worldwide are decreasing due to continuous cropping obstacles and environmental changes. Therefore, the identification of maximum similarities of new ecological distribution of P. quinquefolius, and prediction of its response to climate change in the future are necessary for plant introduction and cultivation. In this study, the areas with potential ecological suitability for P. quinquefolius were predicted using the geographic information system for global medicinal plants (GMPGIS) based on 476 occurrence points and 19 bioclimatic variables. The results indicate that the new ecologically suitable areas for P. quinquefolius are East Asia and the mid-eastern Europe, which are mainly distributed in China, Russia, Japan, Ukraine, Belarus, North Korean, South Korea, andRomania. Under global climate change scenarios, the suitable planting areas for P. quinquefolius would be increased by 9.16%-30.97%, and expandingnorth and west over the current ecologically suitable areas by 2070. The potential increased areas that are ecologically suitable include northern Canada, Eastern Europe, and the Lesser Khingan Mountains of China, and reduced regions are mainly in central China, the southern U.S., and southern Europe. Jackknife tests indicate that the precipitation of the warmest quarter was the important climatic factor controlling the distribution of P. quinquefolius. Our findings can be used as auseful guide for P. quinquefolius introduction and cultivation in ecologically suitable areas.
