RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To identify the main active components and targets of Huashi Xingyu Qingre recipe (, HXQR) and to investigate its mechanism in the treatment of oral lichen planus (OLP). METHODS: The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform was searched to identify the active ingredients and corresponding targets of HXQR. Disease genes were obtained from the GeneCards database, and a "drug-disease regulatory network" was constructed using Cytoscape software and PERL programming language. The STRING database was used to build a protein-protein interaction network. Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) terms were analyzed using R software with a Bioconducter plugin. Finally, the results and the efficacy of HXQR in treating OLP were validated in a clinical trial that included enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) testing and observations of the post-treatment changes in clinical symptoms. RESULTS: HXQR contained 167 active components and 261 targets, with 391 disease targets. The intersection of these two categories in a Venn diagram revealed 57 drug-disease common targets. A compound-target network was constructed and revealed that the six key pharmaceutical ingredients of HXQR were quercetin, luteolin, wogonin, kaempferol, beta-carotene, and baicalein. The protein-protein interaction network mainly involved core proteins such as ALB, interleukin-6, and AKT1. Drug-disease common targets were enriched in 1628 GO terms and 117 KEGG terms, mainly involving inflammatory responses, viral infections, and tumor-related pathways. ELISA testing indicated that HXQR inhibited the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) signaling pathway by reducing the expression of interleukin-6, matrix metalloproteinase-9, and intercellular adhesion molecule-1. The clinical symptoms of the patients with OLP were significantly improved after 8 weeks of treatment with HXQR. CONCLUSION: HXQR treats OLP by regulating the TNF signaling pathway, resulting in a marked treatment effect with few adverse effects.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Primary liver cancer (PLC) is a common cancer, and its morbidity and mortality are ranked 6th and 3rd in the world for malignant tumors, respectively. And this number is still on the rise, seriously endangering people's health. In recent years, acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medicine have been widely used in the treatment of PLC, and there are few restrictions. However, we have not found a meta-analysis of their synergistic effects. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis will evaluate the efficacy and acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of primary liver cancer. METHOD: We will search the following databases from inception up to August 20, 2021: PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, AMED, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, CBM, and Wanfang. There will be no restrictions regarding publication date or language. We will apply a combination of medical keywords and words, including "acupuncture," "Chinese herbal medicine" and "primary liver cancer". Additionally, we will manually search all reference lists from relevant systematic reviews to find other eligible studies. We will use the random effects model in REVMAN v5.3 for meta-analysis. The study for acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of PLC was a randomized controlled study. Two researchers will independently review the research selection, data extraction, and research quality assessments. Finally, we will observe the outcome measures. RESULTS: This study will provide evidence-based medical evidence for the treatment of PLC with a combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of PLC.Registration number: INPLASY202180103.

RESUMO

Neurofeedback, as an alternative treatment method of behavioral medicine, is a technique which translates the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals to styles as sounds or animation to help people understand their own physical status and learn to enhance or suppress certain EEG signals to regulate their own brain functions after several repeated trainings. This paper develops a neurofeedback system on the foundation of brain-computer interface technique. The EEG features are extracted through real-time signal process and then translated to feedback information. Two feedback screens are designed for relaxation training and attention training individually. The veracity and feasibility of the neurofeedback system are validated through system simulation and preliminary experiment.

RESUMO

Objective To assess the effects of medicated permeation with traditional Chinese medicine Shujin-Zhitong liquid combined with ion tophoresis on osteoarthritis(OA) of rabbit knee joint in vivo. Methods The modified Hulth OA model was prepared with rabbits by anterior cruciate ligament desmotomy plus medial meniscus resection.Twenty-four model rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: Chinese medicine group: treated with Chinese medicine Shujin-Zhitong liquid by ion tophoresis for 20 minutes per day;positive control group: glucosamine hydrochloride was administered orally per day;blank control group: no treatment was administered to the model rabbits.Serum nitrogen monoxidum(NO) concentration was determined at the time points of prior model making, prior treatment, and 4 and 8 weeks of treatment. At 4 and 8 weeks of treatment, the apoptotic rate of chondrocytes was determined by flow cytometry, and the gene expressions of collagen Ⅱand aggrecan were determined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results The contents of serum NO in Chinese medicine group and positive control group were lower than that in blank control group at 4 weeks after treatment, and the content of serum NO in Chinese medicine group was lower than those in positive control group and blank control group at 8 weeks after treatment. The apoptotic rates in Chinese medicine group and positive control group were lower than that in blank control group at 4 and 8 weeks after treatment.Gene expression levels of collagen Ⅱ and aggrecan in Chinese medicine group and positive control group were higher than that in blank control group at 4 weeks after treatment, while the gene expression level in Chinese medicine group was higher than those in positive and blank control groups at 8 weeks after treatment. Conclusions The treatment of medicated permeation with traditional Chinese medicine Shujin-Zhitong liquid combined with ion tophoresis has shown good therapeutic effect on osteoarthritis(OA) of rabbit knee joint, the mechanism might be the inhibition of chondrocytes apoptosis and reduced secretion of inflammatory factors, and the improvement of cartilage repair by up-regulating related gene expression of chondrocyte.
