RESUMO

One hundred and five children, aged from 3 to 7 years, with the diagnosis "spastic diplegia cerebral palsy" were treated. Patients were stratified into three groups: group I (n=36) received three courses of microcurrent therapy (MENS) in addition to standard treatment; group II (n=38) received three courses of MENS in the combination with two treatment courses with the nootropic drug cortexin; children of group III (n=31) received standard therapy using massage and gymnastics. MENS was carried out in courses, including 15 sessions each, using the apparatus "MEKS". Cortexin was introduced intramuscular in dosage 10 mg, the treatment course consisted of 10 injections. To the end of the rehabilitation program, positive changes were found: 50% patients of group I, 66% patients of group II and 16% patients of group III could perform complex instructions and acquired skills in modeling and recognition of geometric forms. Positive changes in the brain's electrical activity were found in 75% of children in group I, in 82% of children in group II and in 64% of children in group III.

RESUMO

The objective of the present study was to estimate the therapeutic efficacy of the combined treatment of infantile cerebral palsy by means of microcurrent reflexotherapy (MCRT) in combination with the neuroprotector cortexin. This treatment including 15 sessions with the use of a MAKS apparatus was given to 69 children at the age from 3 to 7 years. They were randomly allocated to two groups. The patients of group 1 underwent three courses of MCRT and two courses of cortexin therapy in conjunction with massage and remedial gymnastics, those in group 2 were treated with massage and remedial gymnastics alone. Positive dynamics in the patients' clinical conditions was documented in the end of the rehabilitative program. Specifically, 60.5% of the children in group 1 developed the ability to walk unassisted compared with 38.6% in group 2. Positive changes in the brain functional status were documented, based on the results of the electroencephalographic study, in 21 (71%) and 16 (53%) children of groups 1 and 2 respectively.

RESUMO

Sixty patients with the diagnosis of cerebral palsy with hemiparesis at the age from 2 to 7 years were treated. All 60 patients had conventional treatment including massage and exercise therapy. Patients were divided into 2 randomized groups. The patients of the first group were given 3 sets of microcurrent reflexology sessions and 2 courses of treatment with cortexin. Patients of the second group were given reflexology treatments only. The microcurrent reflexology treatment included 15 sessions using the apparatus MAKS. Cortexin was introduced intramuscularly in dosage 10 mg. The bottle content was diluted in 2 ml of 0.5% novocaine. The treatment included 10 injections. This treatment showed the beneficial effects: 29 patients of the first group (97%) and 27 patients of the second group (90%) developed some ambulation skills. The progress in complicated manipulative activity of paralyzed upper extremities under microcurrent reflexology with cortexin was 2.2 times more visible in patients of the first group compared to the second one (11 patients (37%) versus 5 patients (17%), respectively). Positive changes in the encephalon functional status according to electroencephalography results were found in 21 patients (71%) of the first group and in 16 patients (53%) of the second group.

RESUMO

Sixty children suffering the diplegic form of juvenile cerebral palsy were admitted to a specialized therapeutic center for medical examination and treatment. In 30 patients, background therapy (remedial gymnastics, manual massage) was supplemented by microcurrent reflexotherapy targeted at biologically active points (BAPs) located paravertebrally in the paretic limb muscles and in the zones of craniotherapy. The remaining children (n = 30) were given medicines affecting neurotrophic processes in the central nervous system in addition to background therapy. It was shown that introduction of microcurrent reflexotherapy in the program of combined rehabilitation of the children presenting with the diplegic form of juvenile cerebral palsy results in the 2-2.3 times improvement of their initially impaired motor activity.

RESUMO

The main causes of the development a nd subsequent chronization of circulatory insufficiency in the vertebro-basiliar system is the deficient blood flow in vertebral arteries (VA) resulting from extravasal effects of degenerative and dystrophic changes (DDC) in the cervical segment of the spinal column. The rehabilitative treatment of the patients presenting with these disorders including either radon or iodine-bromine baths in combination with low-frequency pulsed currents (LFPC) applied to the cervico-nuchal region was shown to produce a fairly good therapeutic effect. The proposed physiobalneological combination (radon baths + LFPC) proved more efficacious than treatment with iodine-bromine baths + LFPC for the patients with exacerbation of cervical dorsopathy. The latter combination gave better results when applied to the patients with circulatory insufficiency in the vertebro-basiliar system having the history of vegetovascular dystonia, craniocervical injury, and cervical dorsalgia.

RESUMO

Authors studied 78 outpatients with children cerebral palsy, aged from 2 to 7 years, in the children department of neurology and reflexotherapy. All children had speech disorders of different severity: from a severe mental-speech deficit to muscle asinergia of the speech apparatus. Combined microcurrent reflexotherapy (MCRT) in the author's technique and the neuroprotector cortexin were used for treatment. The main group included 40 patients who received the treatment of MCRT in the combination with cortexin, the comparison group consisted of 38 patients who received only MCRT. MCRT consisted of 15 sessions with one month interval after the first treatment and two months after the second one. The treatment with cortexin included sessions of 10 injections each after the end of the first and the third MCRT sessions. Patient state was measured at baseline and at the end of 6 month treatment program. An analysis of results of the complex treatment demonstrated its high efficacy in the recovery of speech functions in children with cerebral palsy compared to patients of the comparison group.

RESUMO

The objective of the present paper was to study the influence of microcurrent reflexotherapy on the compromised speech functions in children (n = 84) presenting with cerebral palsy in comparison with the control group comprised of children (n = 56) with the same problems treated by medicamental therapy. The microcurrent reflexotherapy was shown to be instrumental in the restoration of the compromised speech function. Moreover, it promoted positive dynamics of locomotor and cognitive disorders.
